Great food and great price ! The ingredients are fresh. Try the peach sangria with white wine. Amazing !
I went to CIBO to celebrate my birthday with my boyfriend and family. I put on the Open Table reservation that it was my birthday, but the waiter must have forgotten. When my sister quietly reminded her, she came over with two candles, proceeded to light them, and place them in my half eaten dessert. It was really embarrassing. On top of that, all of the tables were squished together in an attempt to maximize the amount of people able to dine in the space, so we had to keep moving our chairs in for waiters to get by us. Really not impressed.
Recommended by a friend and I would also definitely recommend it. Had their Taglietele Bolognese which was excellent - fresh pasta and nice sauce that actually had substance to it. Friend had the roast chicken which was great. Nice atmosphere.
They charge for bread now which seems a little excessive considering the prices also increased for food. Food and service were fine, but definitely surprised about the bread cost and increased pricing on food.
We have been to CIBO many times but this time we were disappointed. Firstly they sat us at a table with a broken seat it took a while for anyone to acknowledge us after sitting so I had to go back to the hostess to request another. The waitress we had wasn't very attentive we waited a long time again for just water and seemed to be upset when we didn't want to see a dessert menu. Food was good as usual and wine selection was good.
To be honest,
Usually we would have had a great experience at Cibo. This time however was a little different. The appetizers were great. Mozzarella De Buffala is always a treat however the pasta arrived and was over cooked and had chunks of garlic the size of cloves. It was very disappointing to our travelling friend from Naples who was expecting an authentic Italian meal. Our server was fantastic... she was very attentive and catering t our need. But when he had to send back his meal and we were done eating before he got his meal it was very disappointing. Nothing was done about this. Disappointing...
service started off a little slow with hostess and bartender, but once we got our table, our server was excellent! The Manhattan was great - ask for the higher quality vermouth. loved the focciacia and olives, the mozzarella was excellent. I will say the balsamic vinegar at the table was a bit below par for me, but then the vino and the spaghetti carbonara were meravigliosi!
I waited at the bar for my party the bar staff took 7 minutes to ask for a drink and only six seated other than that service was great
Good service. Excellent fried calamari. Tagliatelle really great although the bolognese is a little on the salty side.
We had dinner here once before about 1.5 years ago and it was excellent but this time the food was a bit disappointing.
Sommelier was very friendly and knowledgeable. The food was very disappointing. We have been there many times before we came from Ottawa and booked ahead. We ordered 2 orders of chicken parmigiana and they both came out cold and hard. They made us a new order and again it was luke warm and not tender at this point we did not send it back cause we were hungry. We were disappointed on the quality of food for the price we paid. Not sure if I would recommend or go back to CIBO
Food was great...compliments to the chef for the Seafood Risotto, Chicken Al Mattone, Tagliatelli Bolognese and Salmon. All were fabulous. The service was great. Everyone was so nice! We will be back!
Experience was great! Thank you
Always great. Thxxx
My recommendation would be not to charge for the bread. I know everyone wants to maximize revenue, but it is like airlines charging for crackers. Put it in the price of something else.
We always go to CEBO for a laid back, ‘romantic’ evening. The atmosphere and decor is great for a date night or a cozy catch up with friends
the food was great and our server was very friendly/helpful
Absolutely delicious food. Everything was so good! Wine wasn't very overpriced though. Overall great experience
We had margarita pizza which was good. I found that their portion sizes are smaller than before for some dishes. For example, their lasagna appeared to be half the size of what I used to get when I ordered this dish, and they now charge for bread.
Awesome .. we will be back for sure!!
We were seated on time. Very nice surroundings. Very pleasant wait staff. Charcuterie platter was excellent. But pasta left a lot to be desired… I ordered the lobster ravioli and it was pretty uninspiring. My friend ordered a different pasta dish and thought it was terrible. Our server was kind enough to take hers off the bill. Other friend had beef short ribs and Finished them so I guess no complaints there. It was a great place for the social but I think foodies would be disappointed.
Absolutely blown away by Cibo! Authentic and insatiable flavourful pasta. I just can’t get enough! Been here a couple of times and never disappointed. It just keeps getting better. On a girls night, daytime business lunch or a family dinner, it’s the spot to go to downtown Toronto.
Catch up w a friend from out of town and wanted to show her a great spot with good food, wine, and atmosphere! :)
Amazing service as always! Food is always a hit and the wine list is what brings us back!
We came here for my sisters bachelorette this past weekend and had an AMAZING time. The food was so delicious and the atmosphere was perfect. We had planned on going somewhere else for a drink after dinner, but the atmosphere was so perfect that we stayed here all night. I will definitely be coming back again!
The food was absolutely amazing! Good portion for a good price. The service was outstanding as well. The waitress made sure everything was going great and was very nice. Overall great experience and will come back very soon!
Four of us went for dinner and drinks on a Friday night. We shared several apps and entrees and loved it all. Food, drinks, service and atmosphere were all fantastic. I’d go back anytime, highly recommended.
Amazing brunch on Sundays! Very beautiful place, Italian style.
Great service and great food . Will definitely be back !
Nice venue despite the noise. Food is ok - slightly overpriced. Would have been better with bigger portions (pastas).
The ambience is quite nice, service was very good but the food is mediocre. It is not terrible but definitely it is not a reason to choose this restaurant.
Great atmoshere, friendly staff, food was rich and flavorful and great service.
Great service and food. I am never disappointed at Cibo
Bustling energy, classy ambience and our server was great. However, the cooks were completely inflexible when I requested chicken parmigiana with spaghetti carbonara instead of with vegetables, as offered on the menu. They serve spaghetti carbonara so it wasn't an outrageous request. I was thoroughly unimpressed. The parmigiana was burnt on the bottom as well. So I was underwhelmed and am in no hurry to return.
The old negative part of our Lunch at Cibo was the slow service. Lunch service should be particularly quick as most people have to return to back to work. Our lunch ended up being over 2.5 hours, and we planned on being at Cibo for only 1.5 hours.
We used to love this restaurant but quality has decreased considerably, prices increased as well. Bread is now charged and quality so much inferior. Pasta Carbonara has nothing to do with the real one. Very unfortunate.
Excellent. If you like reasonanly authentic Italian food and wine, this is the right place. The pasta is delicious. The seconds are well done and varied enough to please everyone (my table had pasta, veal milanese, and porcini crusted short rib, all worth reviewing well). The atmosphere id casual, but still elegant. Check it out. You won't be disappointed.
Cibo has been one of my favourite restaurants for quite some time however, my experience this past Saturday was not the best. As our waiter came over to take our order a large bug started walking across the table. The waiter did grab it right away and the manager came over and offered us a free appetizer which was very nice of her to do. Later in the evening two more bugs crawled across our table. I believe they might have been living in the wood of that table. Including a free appetizer, the bill for my boyfriend and I still came close to $200 without tip. The price is not the issue, it is just the principle of not wanting to spend $200 at a restaurant where you expect much higher standards than to be at a table filled with bugs.
Food was amazing. Service was great
