The food was ok at best, but the portions weren’t very good. The lamb carpaccio was downright embarrassing.
The service was great, but we won’t be back.
We had small children with us and our server was wonderful! He really went above and beyond to accommodate their requests. Love this place.
Steak was cold, 20 minutes for our first round of drinks to get to our table. Small portions, my sister in law ordered pasta dish, we waited for it for awhile and then brought gnocchi. Said they ran out of the ravioli. Noone checked with us and asked us if we wanted something different. Sister in law hates gnocchi but isn't the type to complain about it. So the server avoided us like the plague afterwards and we sat around forever waiting for the bill and payment machine. Never going back
A great spot generally, and especially so for pre-theatre dining. Cocktails are exceptional, food is very good and the staff are exceptional. Will be back again, and certainly every time we are planning to attend a a performance downtown.
I have been to Cibo Trattoria many times but this will be the last. The price has gone up, while the portions are down. My wife is a very light eater but was given such a tiny serving of pasta that we definitely felt ripped off.

Great service. Good food. Salads were excellent, as was the Bolagnese. Ambiance is very appealing. Close to theatres on Granville. I look forward to returning.
Excellent choice for a pre-Orpheum meal. Superb service and food and wonderful suggestions from the sommelier. I'll be back
We enjoyed the "Orpheum" 3 course dinner very much. As well, we had two breakfasts in Cibo. We would recommend Cibo in terms of food freshness, variety, presentation and service.
Good food, good service. The chef was accommodating in modifying a couple dishes for my friends' preferences. The sommelier paired some good wines with our meals.
Cold wind blows in every time the door opened. The tables close to the door felt the breeze. There should be a short wall built to deflect the wind.
My Ravioli stuffed with mushrooms was excellent as was the shredded lamb of two of my 3 friends. The spaghetti my fourth friend had was bland.
I have been dining at Cibo a couple times a year for almost a decade. So, the truly horrible meal I had there last week was incredibly disappointing. Bison short ribs were tough (how is this even possible if braised long enough?), bland and luke-warm. Sweet potato purée was bland. My wife’s risotto was bland. Tiramisu was watery. Olive oil cake was dry (again, how is this possible?). Chef clearly did not pick up a salt shaker. Server brought the wrong bottle of wine. All in all, just not up to par in a city with so many excellent dining options. Won’t be back anytime soon.
Service: Were greeted rightaway with a smile and offered for a coat-check. Seated on a high table, across the warm fireplace. Met our server who was friendly and knows his wine list (pretty nice list). They are all very attentive to other tables too without looking so hectic even when it was busy.
Ambience: Felt so warm and cozy throughout our dinner. This place has an interesting design that combines huge mirror, artsy decoration, and a high ceiling. Looks a lot going on but it works really well with the design. Lighting was perfect too with different brightness available at certain spots. Saw a few speakers but couldnt recall if there were music playing, but noise were moderate with standard happy hungry people sound.
Food: Started with buratta which was perfect and fresh veggies. My partner had cauliflower soup with pork belly which she wished it's more seasoned. Second course, was glad that we had an Ocean-Wise salmon. Interesting beet risotto too. What we wish differently was the bison short rib and mashed sweet potato, needs to be more juicy and moist, and also warmer. The last course, try the olive cake if you like a warm moist cake with ice cream on top.
Great attentive service especially when we had pre-informed that we were attending a concert at the Orpheum-Location is perfect. Food portions are small for pasta-would it kill ya to offer bread or a dinner roll with the meal?? Just sayin’
We went for dine out Vancouver for their $30 prix fixe. The food was excellent and tasty; cauliflower soup followed by bison short rib and then a chocolate hazelnut tarte. Service was quite good and attentive as one could expect on a busy "dine-out" night. All four of us thoroughly enjoyed the whole experience and would definitely go back.
The atmosphere was great and the food tasted delicious, the problem was most of the menu was in italian and my date and I were first time "Dine-Out'ers". Despite making the reservations through Open table the waiter neglected to inform us how the $30 menu option worked so when he came back and asked us what we would like for dinner we ordered our entres. After the meal when dessert was offered I asked if it's part of the Dine-Out offer and that's when he told us it doesn't apply since we didn't order an appetizer at the beginning. Rather than a simple apology for miscommunication he returned to the front to grab a menu, come back to the table, and point out what we did wrong. I said I thought that that would have been explained in the beginning since the menu is so disorganized, and instead of trying to compensate for the mix up he made me feel dumb for not knowing how the menu worked then asked again if we would like dessert. Long story short, I paid $80 for two entres rather than $60 for two 3 course meals. Being young I feel like we were taken advantage of, since he knew we booked through Dine-Out Vancouver the menu options should have been briefly explained and if we were ordering entres instead of appetizers the least he could have done was confirm we were no longer wanting the $30 option, and mention which items were part of the Dine-Out deal instead of "presuming we changed our mind and weren't doing the Dine-Out menu". Great food, but we paid way too much for it.
Unfriendly server. Ingredients of the food were great but taste need more improvement. Cheese was extreamly salty. No one could finish it.
I ate from the Dine Out menu which is a great value for what you get. I had the cauliflower soup which was good. The braised bison short rib with sweet potato purée and mushrooms. I usually don’t like mushrooms but these were full of flavour. The bison however lacked flavour, and there meal lacked vibrant colours. The hazelnut chocolate tart was good, but not homemade which is understandable considering the mass amounts of people who are likely ordering that dessert from the dine out menu.
Service was excellent. Food prices and selection great!
Great evening of food, wine and service. Delicious Dine out in Vancouver menu. House red wine is smooth and great value. Server was extremely helpful with wine and food choices. Love the modern Italian decor and artwork with high ceiling and added touch of a gas fireplace.
Meh, food was ok...drinks and food potions a bit on the small side for the price. Much better options in Vancouver. Close to Orpheum theater though so it filled the need for us as we were heading to a show there
Cozy atmosphere, limited selection but delectable.
The staff was incredible, extremely accommodating of our party which included a celiac and a lactose intolerant dietaries. They were incredibly professional and ensured that our meals were dairy and gluten free respectively which isn't always easy. They checked and confirmed several times with the kitchen for us and provided an alternative dessert for us as their options were not dairy or gluten free. Would definitely recommend if you are looking for a quiet cozy setting for a night out.
Great little Italian restaurant! Food was fantastic and great value for money. We will definitely dine here again :)
We’ve been here twice before and it was as good, if not better, as we remembered. The starter Mussels are fabulous! I had the featured braised short rib dish and huz had the gnocchetti ... delish! Service was great and we’ll definitely keep this place on our date-night list!
The occasion was a pre-theatre dinner. Our meal was so much better than the previous month. It was much hotter, although the oven roasted chicken could have used a little more sauce. Our waitress was slow, forgetting we had ordered a side of bread before our entrée.

Had dinner before the hockey game, and really enjoyed ourselves. Nice and quaint, with cool, modern touches. Service was amazing--wish we had gotten our server's name. Didn't at all feel like a hotel restaurant. The wine bar (also attached to the hotel) looked interesting, but we ran out of time. (Reason to come back, I suppose.)

Tasty food but miniscule portions. My wife and I BOTH ordered a 2nd entree and were still contemplating MacDonald's drive thru afterwards. $364 before gratuity? Nice try....
Excellent food,service and ambiance
The mushroom risotto was undercooked, but the chicken was good. The salad was great, but the olive cake was just dry and crumbling. The ambience was great, and the service was satisfactory.
Not to expectations
The waiter was aloof at best, condescending at worst. The food was standard - nothing special considering the price, however the handcrafted cocktail was spot on. We went there for my daughter's 19th birthday, planning on making a night of it. However, we left after the main course to find desert elsewhere.
Very basic! Glad we tried it but wouldn’t be going back.
Atmosphere cozy. Very relaxing. Staff friendly and very prfessionnal. People are actully not shouting but talking

We ordered for the olive focaccia and deep fried orzo balls as the first course. But it took a very long time to be served, they were average in terms of taste. For mains we had butternut squash tortellini and the slow roasted chicken. The slow roasted chicken with mushroom risotto was excellent and the best dish for the night. The butternut squash tortellini was delicious, but a little on the sweeter side with all the toppings on top. But we liked our mains better than the appetizers. We didnt order any desserts, because we were so full from our mains. They have a great selection of wines, but we decided to have some cocktails, which were excellent too.
