Dinner menu selection for pasta was more limited compared to the last visit. However, pasta selected was still excellent. Disappointed in the tiramisu dessert since it contained no ladyfingers & was not in the traditional square format & was rather bland tasting.
It’s a nice place before the concert or any other occasion, food is good quality and lovely atmosphere and decor.
Recently had a wonderful experience at Cibo and would recommend. Interesting cocktails, great selection of wines including some reasonably priced. Food was delicious - I had the tagliatele and the past was cooked to perfection. Wonderful and attentive service, and the restaurant provided a complimentary dessert for the person in our group celebrating a birthday. We'll be back!
Before theatre dinner for 4. They had a special fixed theatre menu. Very good. Service was excellent.
There is nothing particularly wrong with the food or service, but the quality of the food has clearly deteriorated. I came here a year ago and the pasta was amazing. The pasta and ravioli were both stale and the sauce was below average. For that price it’s a miss.
The only positive is the tiramisu for desert which was amazing
The ambiance was great! The prosciutto e melone was delightful and the main course of roasted duck was superb. My husband had ravioli al brasato which was excellent . I would definitely recommend this restaurant.
The best was desert and an espresso!
Otherwise the food tasted bland and the presentation not what it was before.
Enjoyable experiences with good food and service. But no one in Vancouver can do a proper tirimasu, although this one came close.
Great service and excellent food. Highly recommended!
Amazing food, excellent and friendly staff. Thoroughly enjoyed our evening and will definitely be back soon.
A hidden gem in dt!
Best gnocchi and tiramisu! Wonderful service.
We had heard that the food was not good and I must say we were delighted with the food and the service. Bit expensive but worth it for the convenience and the excellence. We were eating early so the restaurant was not full and might be noisy if it were... high ceilings. We would definitely go back.
We were meeting with our wedding officiant for the first time. This was the perfect place to have an awesome meeting! It’s quiet, yet vibrant and so beautiful
The restaurant is located in a hotel diagonally opposite the Orpheum Theatre, and i understand it is quite busy with pre-show dinners. We dined late on a Tuesday evening when it was very quiet. The meals are good and service is prompt and friendly.
Ridiculously small portions, absolutely guaranteed you will walk away hungry ... $125.00 ($145.00 with tip) for four and we had to stop at a corner store afterwards and buy crackers and peanut butter to make up for the lack of food served. No bread offered (even though there were bread plates on the table and this IS, after-all, an Italian restaurant), no tea or coffee offered and a small glass of luke-warm water that was never filled. What food was served was actually very good ... but the unbelievably small portions are simply stupid, like it's a joke. Never again ... ever.
Hello BrianM, Thank you for dining with us and taking the time to write a review. We take guest comments very seriously and are terribly sorry that we underwhelmed your expectations. Your points regarding the food portions will be shared with our kitchen team to continually fine-tune our commitment to the highest levels of service excellence. I hope that you will allow us the opportunity to serve you again in the future. Sincerely, CIBO Management Team
Portions very small for price unless you get the three course special. Food was okay. Would not go back again unless I was staying at the hotel. I picked this place because of the 1,000 point open table bonus.
Def a go to spot! Should be more popular than it is. Great staff as well, will be back!
Great food. Great service . A bit noisy but great atmosphere. Will return for sure and will recommend as well.
Perfect place to go before going to a show .
My wife and I have enjoyed Cibo many times before but this last meal was a letdown. I had the 6oz ribeye which was at least 50% fat while she had a meal of only two lamb popsicles which were also mainly just fat. While dessert was very good, it’ll be awhile before we go back to Cibo
It was early to there wasn't a noise level which was great. The service was very good...attentive, pleasant and efficient. The food however we found heavy-handed and not well balanced hence not a good value for the cost.
We went to Cibo on the Sunday night of the long weekend. Traffic was brutal and I tried to call three times to advise we would be late. No answer. We discovered when we arrived that the server was all alone on the floor, so she was too busy to answer the phone. She was running the whole evening even though she seemed clearly under the weather. We tipped her well. Who knows the reason behind it, but they were understaffed.
The rest of the experience was fine. I had the Pork Belly, which was really good. My wife had the lamb special which she said was just OK. Dessert was tasty. We shared the olive oil cake.
The overall experience was good. The atmosphere and ambience is nice and calming. The food was good, not outstanding. The server was attentive and accommodating, but overworked.
Food is terrible
Generally a pleasant environment and good food, though extraordinary.
One of the best tasty brunch! Puzzled why it's not a busy place at all....
great value for money and the service and food was fantastic.
PRO: Nice place, small and elegant. We tried the Dine Out 3 courses menu: the price was ok for the menu. Staff really nice and professional, good selection of wines. Lovely pannacotta, I loved the combination with basil. The Falanghina was super.
CONS: the burrata was amazing, but such a thin slice!same for prosciutto e melone, a little ungenerous portions. The Spaghetti were full of water (definitely too too much) and the vongole had an unpleasant back taste. The chocolate cake was good, but such a thin slice to be almost sad. The porchetta (isn't this pancetta arrotolata?) had a fatter taste than expected, but this is just my taste. I would not serve it with a leaf of kale, but again, it'my taste.
Generally I can't complain, not everything meet my expectations but it's a good restaurant. Not sure if we'll give another shot.
the table they gave us was close to the fireplace and the entire time we were there was not pleasant. i even asked to do something about it but nothing... ignored!
food wise, nothing out of the ordinary. the porchetta lack taste but it is tender. we were all rushing to just get out of the warm table. it was very uncomfortable.
the server we had was exceptional but the food was not anything to write home about. Other than the deserts ... we were definitely not impressed .
Excellent food. Excellent service. Will definitely return soon.
The food was delicious!
Had a wonderful Dine Out experience at Cibo! The three course meal was fabulous, the wine pairing recommendation on point and the service wonderful. I'd highly recommend this restaurant to anyone who loves and great night out.
Our server was fantastic! And food was delicious:) Excellent dining experience and highly recommend.
Excellent service, food and value
Great service, this was my first time here and we loved it. Came for dine out but want to come back another time for the regular menu.
Very delicious food at a very reasonable price!!! Would definitely return.
Fornasetti Wall Plates！！！！！
Best spaghetti vongole we ever had. Lots of garlic. Limited veg options.
Having dinner at Cibo on New Year's Eve was a very very bad decision. I made a reservation for 2 at 9 pm. We arrived at 9:10 and a gentleman warmly welcomed us and seated us. It was a 6 course menu at $98 per person.
By 10:45, we were only served 4 courses. The wait time between the courses was far to long, especially that the restaurant wasn't busy. We ordered drinks as soon as we came in and we only got them after the first course, bread, which took 25 mins to come.
At 10:45 I very politely asked the server if possible to reduce the wait time between courses as we have a place to be at later. They sent the prawns course and 2 mins later, not being done with the prawns, the gentleman served us the veal dish out saying 'Since you guys asked the food to be rushed, here you go'. I genuinely replied 'Thank you very much' and got a sarcastic 'you're welcome very much' reply from him.
Later, when I was done with the prawn dish and the table was crammed, I reached out to put my empty side plate on the empty shared plate then the server aggressively snatched it from my hand and loudly started clearing the table smashing plates together. Incredibly disrespectful. The server was very passive aggressive. Before even getting a taste of the veal and the dessert, I asked the bill because I had enough at this point. When I was paying he remarked 'not a fan of the veal eh?'. Again very disrespectful and his actions were very unwarranted.
I will never ever come back here again. The 6 course dinner was per person but instead of getting us our main courses on on separate plates, we got them in shared plates.
Overall, a shame for a very nicely decorated restaurant to be ruined by a terrible, rude and passive aggressive service.
