Great quality of food. Very good en environment and service.
The only con was that the portions were too small.
Fabulous meal; standout was the calimari ripieni.
Service was outstanding and appropriate covid measures were in place.
I love this restaurant.
Thank You to Jesse, the head chef, for coming out to meet us and prepared a great menu for us. The food was excellent and the wine recommended was also great!
I’ve never sent good back before but this is a first. There were only 2 tables being served and it took an hour and 15 mins to get our dishes. I ordered the cannelloni and it came out looking like a taquito...super dry and extremely oily. The oil was pooling on my plate. They offered to replace it with a different dish but didn’t want to wait another hour+ for the replacement. Thankfully they didn’t charge for it.
Aside from that, the server was nice. It was her first day.
No one else was there this day. It was a 1pm reservation for Monday but I had expected a few more people for lunch.
Food was good. The server recommended a couple of dishes for us; both were good. The nicest thing was the ability to discuss subjects and not have competing noise. Must try this restaurant in the evening.
It was my friend’s birthday. I requested for a birthday cake with lettering on the plate on the day itself and they actually made it happen. Moreover, the meal was amazing and our server was extremely friendly. I would definitely visit again.
When we arrived for our reservation, the restaurant was still booked with a large party that had run overtime, hence no table for us in the restaurant. They were very accommodating, and gave us a table in the lounge , offered us a complimentary drink, and then when the party left , we were seated in the restaurant. It was actually lovely by then, as it was just the 4 of us and it felt like a private dining room experience. The staff were very attentive and both service and food were excellent.
Lovely evening. Food was fabulous!
The duck was delicious with a sauce to die for.
This meal was a 10 out of 10. We cleaned our plates and loved every bite and we had an appetizer, entree, and dessert. We were shocked that the restaurant wasn't packed. We would definitely go back and highly recommend. Yum yum!
Nice small room but not crowded. Pleasant efficient staff and excellent food. Quiet enough for conversation. I would fully recommend.
As always, a delightful meal, great service and pleasant ambiance.
Superior. Lovely ambience and great food. The steak was perfect, as was the fresh pasta bolognese. Even the KALE was great. Hey, if you can make kale taste good, you are a master chef.
By the way, our schedule got switched around so we were HOURS early and they graciously seated us on a busy Saturday night.
We were early for our reservation, yet we were seated promptly. Our server was attentive without hovering. The portion size was more than adequate and was incredibly delicious.
The food and drinks were good and the server was nice, but there were several mis-steps in the service dept:
- Our waters were never refilled.
- Long periods of time before someone checked in
- After dinner was finished it was a while before we were asked if we wanted to see the dessert menu and only came by with it after we got his attention after waiting for a while. He apologized saying he was "tied-up" but customers don't want to hear excuses. My wife told him it only takes 2 seconds to grab them (it's not a big room) and sure enough he was back in 2 seconds to grab them. Hopefully it was a learning experience.
The wine was the highlight of the night.
High ceilings & closely spaced tables meant that even at 6pm everyone was practically shouting, both tables either side of us sent meals back & complained, we all waited 45 minutes to 1 hour for our food.
Best before theatre performance restaurant. Excellent food good service and ambiance
A fantastic Italian restaurant in the heart of Vancouver.
Food was very tasty but portions were a bit small for the price asked. Tasting combinations were Interesting and original while respecting fine Italian food standards.
Service was great, discret and efficient even if the whole room was managed by only one waitress, sometimes two.
Overall a great experience.
We are really enjoyed the dinner and atmosphere at your restaurant. Even it was a vancouver dine out week.
We definitely come back and try out all of your menu soon.
Also we tried UVA after the dinner but we went the bar in hotel George because was so noise and the bar counter was messy.
Food was delicious, the waiter was friendly but dishes were served quite slowly.
Great restaurant. My friend and I booked this place last minute before a Sunday evening show and we sat at the bar. Fantastic service and food. Great atmosphere and environment. I'd definitely return.
Went for Dineout festival with a group of friends. The choices of meals for the 3 courses were all really interesting, and clearly they had something for everybody. The panna cotta was to-die for, and really made trumped the previous entree and appetizer. Really nice experience and value for the Dineout was well worth it.
High quality all around; food, service and ambience.
We went to Cibo for the first time during Dine Out Vancouver. It’s a nicely appointed, cozy restaurant well situated downtown. We were greeted warmly and had a fantastic meal. The food and wine were wonderful, service was friendly and excellent, and the prices were reasonable for the quality of the experience. Would happily recommend eating here!
We had a late reservation after a long day. We have always liked the restaurant but it was quieter than we expected because it is part of Dine Out. That was just fine by us. There was clearly not enough communication from the kitchen because one choice of appetizer and one of dessert were not available. That said, the duck main course was superb and the substitued tiramisu was one of the best. We will return at some point. Adding some more modestly priced wines to the list would be useful.
Portions were small, at Dine Out, which was not a problem, given that we are not big eaters. My dessert, the Chocolate Nemesis, was amazingly good!
We went here before going to see the symphony across the street. It was the week of Dine Out Vancouver, so we got in on that, and it was great! Would definitely go back.
Really good meal! Our server was outstanding. Very helpful and attentive
The experience we got was horrible! My family got sick from the food. The server was very rude when we said that the glass was not clean, he showed an attitude toward us. Even though the glass was so dusty. The pasta was even cold when it came and it had no flavor. I would not recommend this restaurant to anyone!
The menu was quite limited, the portion sizes were small for the price.
Christmas Day lunch. Absolutely delicious!
My wife and I went there for a nice lunch on Christmas Day. Great service, excellent food, warm ambience. We’ll go there again for sure.
Very good spot! Amazing food & friendly staff. Nice and cozy restaurant, especially by the fireplace.
Absolutely one of my now favourite restaurants. Excellent value, delicious food all with a quaint ambiance.
Went there for Sunday Brunch while Downtown. It was quiet, so we got quick service. We chose the Pacific Breakfast, which hit the spot nicely. Refreshing, light, and just the thing to fill us for an afternoon out in the chill. Will go back again.
This small restaurant serves excellent food and provides fabulous service. We regularly visit Cibo when attending events at the Orpheum. They have something for everyone. The sea bass is cooked to perfection and served with a chick pea base. You cannot go wrong with the excellent pasta - the vongole is served with good sized clams. We will be back.
Booked this restaurant for a Christmas get together with family. Service was great. Server asked right away if we needed to get out to attend the symphony as this restaurant offers a good option for those wishing to do dinner and that event. We were not going but appreciated the concern. Food menu is limited but what we had was good. They even offer Gluten Free choices. They have a great sommelier who helped us select wine to match our dinners. We had a wonderful time here and the service was part of the experience. We had decided to go out for an after dinner drink but ended returning to this restaurant just for drinks.
The Three of us had excellent service -- lunch time reservation before the Symphony. From the moment I walked in and needed to wait 15 minutes before friends arrived --- hot mint tea was delicious, to my beet salad with the chickpea triangles that are amazing. A very pleasant lunch, will definitely return. I have been to your restaurant a umber of times, and never have had a negative experience. May thanks, Happy Holidays, merry Christmas
disorganized and slow; wine expensive for 5 oz glasses - not 6 or 9 but priced like it for same brands elsewhere; after serious problems getting the computer to produce the bill and consequential long delay there was a material overcharge on it. No accommodation for delay and no embarrassment at the overcharge. Very amateur and disappointing. Perhaps was expecting higher quality based on reviews.
Hanger steak salad was perfectly cooked and well seasoned. Good value for $21. Arrancini serving was small and lukewarm when served. Consider refining or removing from the menu. Limited lunch menu, may attract more guests with a slightly expanded menu. Service was great - water was refilled 3x automatically, never below one-quarter. Well done!
