Ciao! - Sylvania Ratings and Reviews
Good solid Italian food. Energetic atmosphere, but not distracting. The restaurant was very accommodating to a gluten allergy. It took a while to get seated after our reservation & the server could have been more attentive (it was the weekend after Valentine’s day, so some slack here). Asparagus/prosciutto appetizer, swordfish and lobster ravioli entrees, tiramisu and creme brûlée deserts all very well prepared. Not foodie-creative, yet a very good meal. We’ll be back.
Great service set the tone for a great evening. Food out quickly and very flavorful had the valentines specials espresso rubbed filet and seared scallops with crab risotto shared the pair and both were pleased. I would just say the only thing I would change was the house salad was over dressed but solid. I would kid recommend Ciao’s to anyone looking for a great night out with great food.
I went with my fiancée for Valentine’s Day, and we were seated promptly when we arrived for our reservation. Unfortunately, there was poor communication between the wait staff, and they all believed that the table was someone else’s section. As a result, no one visited us for over ten minutes - even as the tables to our left and right were visited several times. In fact, the table to our left arrived after us and received their salads at about the same time our server first walked up to give us water!
After they finally assigned a waiter to us, service was reasonably prompt and attentive. The food was extremely good; we thoroughly enjoyed the calamari appetizer as well as the lamb and salmon entrees. For dessert we had the bread pudding, which overall exceeded my expectations.
Overall, we will go back, but only with dinner reservations... and no hesitations in flagging down the wait staff as necessary.
We visited here for a birthday celebration. The service was excellent. The ambiance was very special as on Monday and Tuesday evenings they provide live music. The chef accommodated our special culinary requests with flair. The food was fresh made to order and very tasty. We will definitely return and highly recommend this restaurant.
The table was set up and waiting for our party of six. Not quite use to the tablet menus but with a little instruction everything went well. Our server Natalie was very very
good she answered any questions we had and explained some of the pasta dishes to us. Everyone enjoyed their dinner and dessert after. I would recommend it to anyone looking for a great place to eat out. I will come back and hopefully get Natalie as a server.
Great service, food and ambience. Our server, Carriene, was impeccable and the entire staff made our experience rememberable. The manager, Brenda, checked in on us and made sure everything was wonderful. I would highly recommend for any everyday dining or special occasion experience.
We were greeted as we arrived, promptly escorted to our table where the waitress was waiting to take our drink order. The service was very friendly, and appropriately attentive. Our waitress was friendly and conversed with us and made our celebration a happy and pleasant experience. We have been to Ciao many times and will return many more times.
Food was just okay. My Caesar was not very flavorful except for the anchovies. Had to send my cheese spread back. Hard as a rock. Daughter’s chicken, just so so. Husband’s meatballs and pasta forgettable. But our server was top notch!
We were disappointed. Darn.
we went on New Years Eve. It was crowded but our requested booth was ready. Waitress was quick and attentive. Salad and soup was served promptly and given enough time to enjoy it before our entrees arrived. Food was done to perfection ans was delicious. Dessert was superb. It was a wonderful way to start the New Year.
We have been to Ciao twice in last 6 weeks. Service staff was great and food excellent.
The only negative is that our daughter is allergic to gluten and although the staff did a great job making sure her meal met her needs, it would have been perfect if a piece of gluten free bread was available before the meal to enjoy the excellent olive oil with the rest of our party. It would be fairly easy for Ciao to keep some frozen Udi's bread (which you can buy at Kroger's) on hand to serve as needed. Not a difficult or expensive solution, but so kind for those who can't eat gluten.
Once again our meal at Ciao was incredible. Our server made sure to come to our table as soon as we were seated to ask about the food allergies at the table and proceeded to be very attentive throughout the meal. The one complaint I have is that they changed the crust for their pizza - gone was the delicious crust and in its place was a flavorless cracker-thin crust. Dear Ciao - please bring back the original crust. Calamari had also been removed from the menu due to supplier issues (boo). The rest of the meal was delicious. Remains my favorite Italian spot in all of northwest Ohio.
