Ciao! - Sylvania Ratings and Reviews
Food was just okay. My Caesar was not very flavorful except for the anchovies. Had to send my cheese spread back. Hard as a rock. Daughter’s chicken, just so so. Husband’s meatballs and pasta forgettable. But our server was top notch!
We were disappointed. Darn.
we went on New Years Eve. It was crowded but our requested booth was ready. Waitress was quick and attentive. Salad and soup was served promptly and given enough time to enjoy it before our entrees arrived. Food was done to perfection ans was delicious. Dessert was superb. It was a wonderful way to start the New Year.
We have been to Ciao twice in last 6 weeks. Service staff was great and food excellent.
The only negative is that our daughter is allergic to gluten and although the staff did a great job making sure her meal met her needs, it would have been perfect if a piece of gluten free bread was available before the meal to enjoy the excellent olive oil with the rest of our party. It would be fairly easy for Ciao to keep some frozen Udi's bread (which you can buy at Kroger's) on hand to serve as needed. Not a difficult or expensive solution, but so kind for those who can't eat gluten.
Once again our meal at Ciao was incredible. Our server made sure to come to our table as soon as we were seated to ask about the food allergies at the table and proceeded to be very attentive throughout the meal. The one complaint I have is that they changed the crust for their pizza - gone was the delicious crust and in its place was a flavorless cracker-thin crust. Dear Ciao - please bring back the original crust. Calamari had also been removed from the menu due to supplier issues (boo). The rest of the meal was delicious. Remains my favorite Italian spot in all of northwest Ohio.
This was our first visit, but most certainly won’t be our last! The smell of garlic in the air upon entering the restaurant was tantalizing. We got the “little purses” appetizer, my husband got the lasagna and I got the butternut squash ravioli with shrimp. My husband wasn’t a fan of the lasagna, but my ravioli was delicious. We didn’t have room for dessert, but I’m certain it would have been great!
Ciao did not disappoint. The food was excellent, and the most impressive factor was our server. We had a friend who had some special food requests. The young man who was our server was extremely nice and said they will make anything we want. And he did! I had a chocolate martini, daughter had a lemon one-they were both delicious! The food was excellent. I had some fish that had a delicious breading with cheese, and everyone else loved their food as well. I already recommended it a friend this morning.
Ciaos can teach some other Toledo restaurants how to treat their patrons-they show how much they appreciate your business instead of treating you a bother.
We had the broiled Sole with capers. It was wonderful. Sat outside on the patio next to the stone fireplace. Very nice atmosphere.
Brenda the manager is first class and goes around making sure the meal and service is great.
Ask for Kate as your server. She is the best!!
Always impressed...consistency is the key to fine dining in my view and Ciao's always comes through. Again I asked for things that are not on the Menu and was very pleased to find they could be made to happen. This time I asked for spicy sausage to be incorporated into an existing dish. The bread is great, the wine is always very nice and the food is intoxicating...literally - my wife doesn't drink and I do and a frequently have a bottle of wine or a little less with my time there. She leaves just as tipsy as I do...her "buzz" is from the food!
