I have been coming to Ciao for years and really enjoy the food. However you really dropped the ball this time. My husband, myself and our teenage son came in for dinner, my husband ordered a small Alfred pizza no garlic, I ordered soup and salad and our son a small cheese pizza. We waited over 10 minutes just to receive the bread that came out with our food. My husbands pizza was overloaded with garlic but had no chicken on it. We tried repeatedly to flag down our server that NEVER even came to the table to see if our meal was okay, but never did get her over to our table. She was too busy standing in the beverage area talking with the other servers. After 15 minutes we were able to call over a male server that I believe may be a manager. He couldn’t find our server so we let him know about the error and I told him I didn’t feel as though I should have to pay for it. Approximately 7 minutes later our server came to the table laughing and said oh yeah I guess I pushed no chicken instead of no garlic, sorry. As myself and my son have finished eating by this time he chose not to wait to have another pizza made. Long story shot, 3 people went to dinner, 2 people got to eat while the 3rd watched and we weren’t even comped the sodas for THEIR mistake! Our server thought it was funny that she had ruined a family dinner. Wrong profession for her maybe? Anyway very disappointed with the service provided by a spacey carefree server!
Probably in the top 10 “not a good experience “ restaurants. Food was borderline; cold and not cooked. No meat in the meat lasagna. Salads drowning in oil...Child’s portions a joke; 6 strings of spaghetti swimming in butter for $7. When questioned I was told I should have purchased an adult item....rude. The silver lining to this black cloud experience was the hostess who first greeted us....outstanding.
I recommend you avoid this establishment all together
If you want good, basic Italian without any frills you must stop by. Quick service combined with tasty food at a reasonable price! I will be back
The food was amazing. My husband and I split a small calzone and it was plenty big enough for the two of us. Probably the best calzone that I have ever had. We even had some left over. Great service. Definitely will go back!
Wonderful food. Friendly service . I would recommend to anyone
We have been several times and it is always delicious food with a family atmosphere.
The menu is fabulous. We’re looking forward to another visit to try the pasta. We especially liked the Caprese Salad. We shared the Pork Osso Buco alla Milanese, meant to serve two. It was very a very generous serving. The polenta was a bit too cheesy- ha! Never thought I’d say that. The pork shank was delicious.
We've been several times in the past, and the food was ok. They've seemed to have revamped the food. Everything was very good! Can't wait to go back!
I recommend Ciao Pizza Trattoria to all of my friends and relatives.
I even offer to treat them to visit the place with me.
Amazing, perfectly-seasoned food in a relaxed environment. I can't wait to return!
The quality of the food is always good at Caio Pizza and we've always had excellent service there as well.
We love this restaurant. Make-your-own pasta dishes, pizzas, calzones are extremely popular. The wood-fired pizza oven makes delicious pizzas and calzones. Fresh kinds of pasta. Beautiful desserts. Always a great Italian feast.
A real find. We ordered the pork Osso Buco, which they recommend sharing for two. It was probably enough for three. More importantly, it was outstanding! Tender, flavorful, served over a delicious creamy polenta (maybe Gorgonzola was the secret ingredient?). Attentive service. We are out of the area, but this would be a regular haunt for us if we lived nearby. I would be happy to be served this dish in any five-star restaurant at twice the price. Wish the place were a little less noisy. But the food was sooo good, we overlooked it.
Love this place! Authentic Italian cuisine. A giant wood-fired oven for hand-made pizzas, stombolis, and calzones. Fresh pasta. Families are welcome.
Food was great. Service was friendly and engaged. The experience was wonderful
I went for dinner on 5/25/19. Parking is excellent since there are a ton of businesses around this place. I interior is a little small, so reservations are a good idea. With hardwood floors, hard walls, hard ceiling, etc. this place gets pretty loud. Interior decor is modern. This is a true pasta restaurant. You select the pasta (6 types to choose from). You select the sauce (9 types to choose from). You select the protein (10 types to choose from). You select extra toppings (50 to choose from). That's 27,000 possible combinations. If you can't find something you like in pasta there, something's wrong. There are also salads, pizzas, lasagnas, etc. Vegetarian and gluten free selections are available. The place is wheelchair accessible. The pasta and sauces are home made. Honestly, that's the best pasta I've had since 1982. I kid you not. The portion size is sensible. So go ahead an enjoy the bread basket. That's really good bread by the way. The beer selection is decent. The wine selection is unimpressive. But what they did have was of decent quality. The staff was definitely overworked. Probably not their doing. But having worked in restaurants myself, overworked staff never gets my condemnation., but the owners do. The quality for what you get makes this place very well worth it. I will be back for sure! There were many kids enjoying the place. Kids love pasta. This place is cosmopolitan, but not romantic. Casual clothing is all you need. I skipped the dessert because I was definitely stuffed. I was surprised by how many people order-out from this place. When I was there there were 5 or 6 people from Grubhub that came in, plus people just picking up to take home themselves.
Pasta was over cooked
The food is excellent, the staff attentive, and the atmosphere is casual enough to allow you to enjoy your meal and friends. However, I have not been able to try my favorite pizza (pepperoni) because your “Capri” pizza is so good I always order it. I will try to remedy that. Thank you.
Surprisingly delicious and creative Italian food in a simple store-front location. Everything was great.
Love their cioppino! It is a huge bowl of muscles, clam, shrimp and salmon. Their bread is out of this world too! My husband had a veal cutlet with polenta that was awesome! I highly recommend this restaurant!
Everything was absolutely delicious! I had fettuccine Alfredo with the Parmesan chicken and loved every bite. Our server was friendly, helpful, and attentive. I’m looking forward to my next meal there.
Great Italian food at a convenient location- fresh breads, crusts and pastas. Some tables are a little cramped. Service is generally good
We enjoyed our meal and the service was good as well. Fresh pasta and lots of options for custom entrees. We enjoyed the cannelloni for the first time and it was excellent! Newer server named Chris and he did a good job. We hadn’t been there in a while and will definitely go back!
Overall very good as usual.
Great menu, great food, something for everyone. we loved and will be back!
Very friendly and helpful staff, delicious pizzas for a reasonable price. We will be back.
More noisy than We like, conversation was hard, had to shout to be heard.
Hidden gem. Great food and service
Awsome food, great service, warm and inviting, local
Truly the best pizza ever. Over waiter(owner?) was great he was attentive. The stuffed mushrooms were great
BEST Gluten Free pizza and pasta that I have ever had! Thank you for providing so many delicious choices and for being so cautious for those who have Celiac. You are a wonderful find! Can’t wait to come back and try more of your gluten free selections!
My husband and I absolutely love this place! The food is outstanding. My only complaint was our last visit we were sat VERY close to a neighboring table. It was as if we were having dinner all together. This would have been understandable if there hadn't been any other open tables, whoever, there was. Not a deal breaker, but it wasn't our favorite experience there. The food was still worth it though!
LOVED the food and service! If I lived closer, I'd be dining there a few times a month. Fresh pasta with sage butter is fantastic. Yummy meatballs. EVERYTHING WAS SOOOO GOOD. Chianti too!
Our "go to" place! It is comfortable with excellent food. The staff is some of the best in Eugene. They are friendly and accommodating. The gluten free pizza is outstanding!!
Ciao Pizza is one of my very favorite restaurants with friendly personal service and delicious food.
For starters, their Pizza, Calzone, and Stromboli are made from scratch when ordered,
but they also have a full menu with regular specials, every one of which is a tasty delight.
I recommend it to all of my friends. I also make certain to take visitors there for a real treat.
We eat here several times a year and it is always good service and great food. I tried something different this time and was happy I had leftovers so I can enjoy it again. The lasagna is enough for 3 meals for me, especially if I have a salad and bread to start. Salad greens come from a local farm and everything is made fresh when ordered.
This restaurant has many options and everything sounds delicious.
We ordered pasta and we had a very enjoyable evening with great taste, flavor and freshness.
The service was amazing and the atmosphere is really cool
Terrible food for the prize. There was too much of feta cheese on the pizza and that made it too salty. The pappardelle was average as well
Really enjoy having found Ciao after many years away from it. It’s our new favorite Italian go-to! Great variety on the menu and the food is always delicious. Great specials and every day fare. Definitely recommend!
This place is quite a little gem. I never would have guessed such good food would be found in a strip mall area. Everything we had was terrific and our server was outstanding as well. This would be a regular spot for dining if we were not just passing thru town.
