Derek our waiter was fantastic! He was tremendous
5:30 reservation on Sweetest Day and we were one of only about 5 tables seated in the main dining room. Service and food were great, however by the time we left the entire main dining room was completely full which made us a little uncomfortable in these exceptional times.
It's always a treat to go to Ciao Bella. I had whitefish with lemon, butter, and capers atop a bed of spinach. My husband had the risotto contadina. Both were made with top quality ingredients. Service was attentive. The menu is clearly marked with gluten-free options, which is helpful in our case as we are both gluten sensitive. It did seem that several dishes on the menu were probably gluten free but were not marked so I had to ask the server.
Very eye appealing, food was okay, order was incorrect but still billed as ordered, and service was next to non existent. I’m fine with this being my only experience here.
Sat outside on the patio and had a fine experience. Our waiter Michael was very attentive and helpful.
We frequent Ciao Bella's regularly. Probably the friendliest owners and servers we have ever encountered. We could not go there for 2 months and when we come back they act like they know us. The food is impeccable. The atmosphere is warm and friendly. We at outside on their new side porch. Great time.
The service was remarkable. The food was great and the bartender figured out a drink my picky sister enjoyed!
We sat in the new Outdoor patio, highly recommend!
The food was ok, small portions for the $. Waiter was “different” to say the least. He tried & the more he tried the worse it was
Great food, great service.
Ciao Bella is no doubt one of our favorite places to eat in Northwest Indiana! Simply put the food is excellent. Last night while our waiter was great it took a long time to get our food. It was very busy and we were taken care of, we did wait longer than usual. No doubt we will be back and enjoying the atmosphere once again!
Great food and excellent service. Always a favorite!
the food was wonderful and the service was also wonderful
Love this place! Really authentic Italian food.
The wine we wanted From the menu they did not have. One of the dinners we were going to get was not able to get there from Chicago because the driver had a flat per the waiter. Every seat at the bar became full and not one person was wearing a mask. Even the wait staff, a few had their mask below their nose and I’ve seen a couple take their Mask off while talking, even including our waiter. Not really following safe standards at this time I believe.
Great meal and excellent waiter!
The food was absolutely outstanding. I highly recommend the Picatta Al Limone with the whitefish, it was perfection! We also ordered a risotto al funghi for the table to share, it disappeared very quickly. Try and get there before they shut the outdoor addition for the season, it was great to sit outside.
Our night was absolutely amazing my wife and myself enjoyed every aspect of our time here , our server Derek was phenomenal. The food and drinks were outstanding. We could not have asked for a better evening. We will definitely be returning in the future.
Entertainment was excellent. Food too - as always.
Service was below average. Food was outstanding.
Thank you to our server, Michael. Service was outstanding. Drinks and food was delicious. Thank you
Dinner was great! Everything was served promptly and it was delicious.
Met a friend for an early dinner. We were the first table to be seated. Ordered a bottle of wine. They were out of it. Chose my second favorite. Didn’t have that one either. Settled on a third choice. No they didn’t have that either. It was a special wine promo night. Shouldn’t they have had the wines on the menu??Waiter brought a bottle of the house wine. It didn’t “qualify” price wise for the Promotion they were having. The wine was awful. We barely touched it but didn’t send back and didn’t complain. Then the chicken my friend ordered was still pink. Didn’t eat that. Such a shame. We used to meet there often. So disappointing.
I went to this restaurant a few years ago with friends and was impressed. The food and service were outstanding. Things have changed... the food was good, the service was good, but everything lacked the wow factor on my most recent visit. I was a little disappointed, and embarrassed that I had spoken so highly of it to my guest. Overall it was only equal to the chain Italian restaurants, but the price was not. I expected more for the amount of my bill.
Always such a friendly environment, the kind of place where everyone remembers your name. Food is outstanding. Crowd is lively new outdoor patio is very nice.
Booked a table thorough Open Table. Got to the restaurant and we were taken to a back room (where no one else was sitting). I could understand the social distancing part of the equation if when we were leaving I didn't have a bunch of people sitting in this make shift patio off the back of the restaurant and in the out front seating area. We were not asked if we wanted to sit outside. I was a bit perturbed at where we were put. The waiter was fantastic though I think he was stretched a bit thin with too many tables outside as well as ours in the far back. Took a while to get our drink order because the waiter wasn't 21 and i'm not too sure what the bar problem was. Food was just ok for the $$$. I think we'll pass in the future.
The food tastes fresh and delicious. The service was great!
Nothing great. Food priced way too high. Atmosphere not that great. Don’t know why this would be considered a place to be desired.
It was our anniversary, my mother in law called for the restaurant to do something special for us, and the couple we were with since they are newly married. But that did not happen. Other than that amazing food as always. Great service. We come every year of our anniversary since this is where both couples had their first dates!
Went to this place for our 10 year Anniversary and was pleasantly surprised because of the service and pricing.
Food was delicious and presentation was pretty. Looking forward to our next visit.
Delicious, wonderful dinner! A little too loud to talk however. And if the Salmon was wild caught instead of farmed, I would have enjoyed that!
First time there, didn't realize that they would have live music. While we like that on occasion, we were there for a date night dinner and would have preferred a quieter environment to talk. Adding to the noise was a rowdy bar wooing and being quiet loud, kind of unexpected for a 730 dinner. We were in a back room but close to the door so heard all the noise. We should have asked to be moved. Bread was delicious and served with seasoning and cheese for free which was nice. Chicken risotto was good but could have had more flavor. Chicken parm had a good flavor, was served over oven potato wedges which was unexpected as not described on the menu but they were tasty. All at a very reasonable price. Could have been a little more speedy on the water refills but otherwise decent service. Overall dinner took a bit longer than expected but they were fairly busy.
Outstanding as always. Anigo was very attentive and cordial. Thank you Ciao Bella for weather the storm and continuing to serve our community with top notch food and service!
As usual everything was wonderful. One criticism was the bone in Ribeye special. It was good, but not great, and at $60 it was overpriced for what you got. The meatballs are not to be missed!
Fast and courteous
I haven’t been here in years, but I am so glad I came back! The food was amazing! Then the drinks! Wow, they were fun and so good!
This was the first restaurant I have eaten inside of since the COVID19 quarantine. I took my husband and my father here for Father's Day. I drove from a South Chicago to dine here. I was a little nervous at first. Although I had reservations, I thought I still would have to wait, or service would be slow, or quality of food would be low. However, I was pleasantly suprised. Our table was ready and we didn't have to wait. The owners/managers greeted us and made us feel welcomed. The waitress was very polite and respectable, with great manners. It was clean and the decor was lovely and quant. the tables were spaced and the workers all wore mask. There were hand sanitizing stations as well. This was true Italian restaurant and it took me back to my visit in Rome. I would definately return again.
Enjoyed being seated right away. Waiter did a good job. Dinner was delicious.
