Ciao! - Sylvania Ratings and Reviews
This was our first visit, but most certainly won’t be our last! The smell of garlic in the air upon entering the restaurant was tantalizing. We got the “little purses” appetizer, my husband got the lasagna and I got the butternut squash ravioli with shrimp. My husband wasn’t a fan of the lasagna, but my ravioli was delicious. We didn’t have room for dessert, but I’m certain it would have been great!
Ciao did not disappoint. The food was excellent, and the most impressive factor was our server. We had a friend who had some special food requests. The young man who was our server was extremely nice and said they will make anything we want. And he did! I had a chocolate martini, daughter had a lemon one-they were both delicious! The food was excellent. I had some fish that had a delicious breading with cheese, and everyone else loved their food as well. I already recommended it a friend this morning.
Ciaos can teach some other Toledo restaurants how to treat their patrons-they show how much they appreciate your business instead of treating you a bother.
We had the broiled Sole with capers. It was wonderful. Sat outside on the patio next to the stone fireplace. Very nice atmosphere.
Brenda the manager is first class and goes around making sure the meal and service is great.
Ask for Kate as your server. She is the best!!
Always impressed...consistency is the key to fine dining in my view and Ciao's always comes through. Again I asked for things that are not on the Menu and was very pleased to find they could be made to happen. This time I asked for spicy sausage to be incorporated into an existing dish. The bread is great, the wine is always very nice and the food is intoxicating...literally - my wife doesn't drink and I do and a frequently have a bottle of wine or a little less with my time there. She leaves just as tipsy as I do...her "buzz" is from the food!
My husband and I went to dinner many times at Ciao! We went for birthdays, but also brought friends and relatives when they were in town. Sadly, my husband passed away a few months ago, but I'm continuing the tradition. The food is always good and the service is outstanding. It remains a go to place for our family!
Been there many times before. This time was AWFUL. Waiter didn't know the differene between a Manhatten and Old Fashioned - happy hour prices made a difference. His mistake at my expense. Chicken dish was way overcooked. Eggplant was extremely bland and only 2 slices of eggplant for 20 bucks? 20 bucks? NEVER AGAIN! Main Street Ventures have become really hit or miss... I've had issues with Zia's, Real Seafood, Grazi's, etc. Too expensive for the lack of consistency.
The management is accommodating and professional. We had a diner in our group who has a limited palate. The manager offered suggestions as to his options and even brought out a sample of an item to try. The food is good and fresh. It isn’t amazing but it’s definitely worth a repeat visit.
It was a good experience overall except for my low ratings for service due to a little incident when we arrived because we spent ten minutes without being asked if we wanted to drink something.
I waited patiently but after ten minutes of being ignored, I stood up and went looking for a waiter. Couple of minutes later, the manager came and she was super nice and she promised to take care of the appetizer.
After that everything went well only that she forgot to take care of the appetizer, but overall it was a good experience.
Perfect, friendly and efficient service topped our evening of great food in a cozy, sophisticated atmosphere. We had a lovely and perfectly paced meal. We had the seafood linguine, salmon with ravioli, smoked chicken tortellini, and fettucini alfredo, and all were outstanding. The budino is a perfect balance of sweet baked pudding and tart berries, and an unusual dessert offering worth saving room for. We are planning to return soon
We love Ciao. One of our favorite restaurants. And we have been very disappointed with service the last two visits. Subpar at best. I ordered your pork chops. And they were, number one, luke warm , number two, chewy and underdone, and I managed to finish half of one. The server came over and asked if everything was wonderful and I said it was okay and had over half of my food left. He asked if I wanted a box and I said no. So, he took the plate and that was that. No apology, no manager, nothing. Ironically as we were walking to our vehicle we saw our server at your window in the back eating and enjoying himself. Maybe that's why we didn't see a whole lot of him. I never would write this blunt of a review, but this has happened twice, and I think it needs to be addressed. Or you will lose faithful customers of many years. Thank you.
Our meal was tasty, hot, perfect seasoning. The online reservations were a great idea and we were very glad we used the service, because the parking lot was completely packed by the time we returned to our car. Our waiter was a delight; he really believed in Ciao's mission of fresh food and knew the menu. I built a pasta dish with cheese ravioli and paid an extra $5 for grilled chicken, but there was only a tiny bit of chicken and did not add the grilled flavor I expected. The ravioli and pomodoro basilico sauce were delicious. My husband asked for the mussels to be cooked in a wine sauce, and they were very good but a bit rubbery. Their birthday special is super-excellent. The experience was a wonderful way to celebrate my birthday.
My wife's birthday brought us out on this occasion. She chose Ciao for the celebration. The evening was completely satisfying on all fronts. Kate provided wonderful service and info about the food and drink and we were most pleased with all that placed before us. We are planning a birthday gathering in the fall and are planning to return here for the occasion. Thank You for the great experience!
