C.I. Shenanigans Ratings and Reviews
The restaurant was extremely cold and uncomfortable for such a nice place. Had to keep my coat on as did my business partner the entire time. Even the waiter, who was extremely helpful said he was cold and had talked to the manager about it.
The food was good, not spectacular and we requested and received a quiet table so that we could conduct our business.
My husband and I visited at 5pm on a Sunday night. The host was very friendly, and the restaurant was mostly empty. We ordered the rib eye and the stuffed chicken marsala, and then waited approximately 30 minutes for our food to be prepared. The rib eye was fabulous, though lacking the described onions, but the chicken was overcooked. After delivering our food, the waiter only returned to drop off the bill, so we had no opportunity to request that the chicken be remade. Then our credit card didn't work with their system, and no one was able to determine the issue. Overall the experience could have been better, especially based on the cost and the way the restaurant sells itself as a destination for fine dining.
We occasionally go for Sunday Brunch. This time, the dessert buffet and the fresh fruit and salads were substantially diminished from the usual options. Many food options were frequently empty. Also, at least twice there were no plates available...dozens of people were standing around waiting for plates. Not very organized today.
We had a 7 PM reservation but were not seated until 7:25 PM and when seated we were escorted to the most undesirable table in the back corner of the bar area and told that was all there was. At that point, the evening got much better. Our server, Zena, was excellent. Friendly, courteous and quick, she got drinks and appetizers going immendiately. As always, the food at C.I.'s is excellent and service once seated was superb.
We were early for our reservation and seated immediately. It was a Valentine's date. They had a great specialty meal option for the evening. Our server forgot to mention addition specials not on the menus. The service was otherwise very courteous, quick and attentive without being intrusive. The waterfront view is always amazing.
The food was good. But I had the Prime Rib and when it came, the meat look like they cut it with a saw. Presentation was terrible. They did not give any juice for the meat. The horseradish was terrible. The meat otherwise was tender and tasty. The whole meal was good.
Food was barely warm when served. Asked for it to be heated but to not replace the food with new serving. They replaced the food with new, but had very little sauce, rice was dry and food still wasn't hot. If I have to take it home to heat it they way it should be, what's the point of eating out?
Let me start this off with, my family owned a restaurant for 8 years. I do not take complaints in foodservice lightly as I know the adverse effect. I still work in foodservice now, which is the reason why I am writing.
The server (Scott) was charming. He did a great job.
The food and beverages were less then desired.
An old fashion was overly sweet. Our appetizer, 2x order of calamari was so overly salted that we pulled off the breading and didn’t finish the second plate.
Our salads before dinner had so much dressing, that it poured off the plate onto the serving tray when Scott initially pick up the plate. He also looked surprised. The corn served with my tacos was so spicy I didn’t eat it.
The prawns on my sisters order actually had a hint of chlorine. She asked everyone to try one and when we shared our thoughts she said “yah I know I can’t even eat them”.
The rice on my father and sister’s plate was over and under cooked in parts which is confusing. Scott made up for the rice by providing dessert, he is a gem.
However, this is so unusual for the location. I have eaten here many times for brunch and special occasions and I have never had an experience like this.
I tried to share feedback to the email listed online - And got a bounce back.
I also tried to call and no one answered the phone on two occasions.
Been here a handful of times before and always had been satisfied with the food and service. This time, not so much. Host brought us to wrong table at first (no big deal), then sat at the table for over 10mins before I had to track down a manager to find our server. Server brought the wrong drink for my wife (she ordered unsweetened iced tea and he brought wine). Food was ok at best, not in line with past visits here. Most things on this occasion would have been a little understandable for a Saturday night except for the fact that it was not particularly busy (plenty of open tables). I think I can see why I was able to get a table so easily that night.
We were impressed with the service we received. We were celebrating my girlfriend's birthday, which was funny considering it was also our waiter's birthday as well. The food was amazing and I finally was able to try my first lobster roll; you can guarantee there are more to be had. Great experience and I will recommend to all my friends.
I wanted to give you some feedback on our dining experience in your establishment last Saturday. I'm not usually a food and dining critic, but having spent a significant time working in high end restaurants in Seattle for consolidated, I felt I should report to you.
We had a 6pm reservation for 4, upon arriving at our table we found the wine glasses dirty with lipstick still on them, and a couple pieces of silver dirty, not a good first impression. On to the appetizers, the Oysters were not shucked correctly as the muscles were not cut, and they were not served with cocktail forks. The crab shrimp artichoke dip was good. Our server Cameron must have been new, but needs a bit more training, told us the vegetable was green beans when it was asparagus. We had to flag down other servers to get more water ,he needs to be more attentive to his tables needs. The steaks and crab were good co cocktail fork with the crab either, however my cedar plank Salmon was over cooked.
This was a special occasion dinner (birthday) that I believe should have been a lot better. When I spend those kind of dollars I expect more.

We went there for my 61st birthday. I was torn between the Ahi and the Scallops. I ordered the Scallopsso when the Ahi arrived I was kinda surprised... I called the waitress over and decided I wouldn't make a stink because the Ahi was one of my 2 considerations... They make a killer Manhattan and everyone else was pleased with their meal.
Would I go again? Yup the food was tasty but I still have a hankerin' for scallops ;-)
No regrets, great place!
We had reservations for my husbands birthday at 6pm. We were seated at 5:50 and our waiter didn’t come to our table until 6:13. When we were sat we weren’t given menus so the waiter had to go them. He came back at 6:30 took our drink and food order. Drinks arrived at the table at about 7 and that was after we had to ask the manager where they might be (it really was not busy, many open tables). Our food finally arrived at 7:30 and again that was after asking how much longer. My husband ordered Chef Bobby’s carbanora with prawns, he revived buttery, oily, pasta with small bits of shrimp. My step dad ordered the same thing with chicken and his came out the same way. It was awful, both men had stomach aches from the amount of grease that was in the bottom of the bowl. My mom had chicken Marsala and there was one piece of asparagus, there was no flavor. We paid a ridiculous amount of money for the worst birthday dinner we’ve ever had! Very upsetting and disappointing. When we expressed our frustrations with the service and showed him the horrible meals he said okay and went about his day.
Went for Sunday brunch. Had to ask each time for refills, had to ask for clean silver ware because ours was cleared when they took our plates. Eggs were cheesy (yum) but cold. Hash browns were mushy and unseasoned. Wish they would have had the yogurt bar again. Every time i make reservations i ask for a window seat or a booth by bar and i get seated in the middle of dinning area. What's the point of even making reservations or request. The wait staff is too busy flirting and socializing to pay attention to customers. Fruit salad was over ripe. I've been coming to Sunday brunch about 5-6 times a years for two years and each time the service and food gets worse. Very disappointing to see this place go down hill.
We arrived 10 minutes early for our reservation and was told our table wasn't ready and we opt to wait in the bar. When the greeter came to seat us we were move to the other side of the bar, in not so private area. I mentioned I don't want to sit in the bar while looking, at several nice open tables and booths in the dining area! I almost walked out. When the server came, I asked if we could move, she was very nice and accommodating and continue to check on us often. She is the only reason I give a 4 for service. The food was not very tasty at all. So disappointed!
Sunday brunch was displayed and kept clean. Replenishment was good. Food choices were pretty typical but did have some surprise offerings this past Sunday. Dungeness crab (not snow crab), shrimp pasta dish, and a cucumber/hummus bite were good. Scrambled eggs were unexceptional and tasted a bit like a chemical petri dish, but, then, I don't go to a brunch to eat scrambled eggs but go to taste different and unusual dishes.
Thank you for making my Dad's 90th Birthday Lunch such a special treat! From the moment we walked in, everyone made him feel special and Deedee, our server, was wonderful. People would stop the table and shake his hand and give him Birthday Wishes. It meant so much to him and us too. This is why this is one of my most favorite spots for going out to lunch or dinner.
Made a reservation for New Years Eve. Table was ready on time. Chef had a two item special menu for the evening. We selected our meal from it with a couple of options. An absolutely fantastic meal from the appetizer to the dessert. Will continue to be one of our favorite restaurants any time of the year.
$30 for Sunday brunch? Seems a little high, but for the variety of seafood (fresh crab!), breads, fruits, as well as all the other brunch staples including eggs Benedict and a crepe station it was definitely worth it. They had such a large variety of food that I couldn’t even try everything I wanted due to being full. And to top it off they had $3 mimosas; that right there makes it worth it. Service on drinks and plate pick up was a little slow, but that is the only complaint I have.
We made reservations and were seated right away, however at times the waiting area was very busy so I’d definitely suggest making a reservation if you think about going ahead of time.
This brunch was wonderful, better than any we have experienced in the Northwest. I made a video of the food dishes being served and the special order chef's stations for omlettes & crepes for our family and friends that was shared from this location to Denmark, France, Germany, Vietnam, the entire United States and Canada. Everyone who saw it said, "Oh this makes me starving to eat there!" One family is coming in the Spring from Vietnam to join us for another brunch there after seeing the video.
