C.I. Shenanigans Ratings and Reviews
Stopped in after the Garth Brooks Concert. Plenty of parking by the building and they didn't appear that busy. We had to wait quite a while to bus a table for 2 people.
Waitress was really nice and she was right on top of keeping glasses and coffee topped off.
Ordered the prime rib. It came with garlic green beans that were very flavorful, but the prime rib and greenbeans were luke warm at best. The baked potatoes was hot though.
I haven't been here in years and I have to say I was disappointed.
What a disappointment. I used to love this place. The food was cold. The butter for the clams was never warm. The fruit tasted like vinegar. We took our friends and what an embarrassment. The service was poor. I don't think we'll be coming back. You need to work on food staying warm, the server bringing coffee/drinks more often. We had to hunt him down or somebody down each time.
There was a very delicious array of items on the menu for brunch. From the crab legs to the scrambled eggs, crepes to prime rib, fruit and veggies. Not to mention all the desserts. More than anyone could hope for at one sitting. All the food was very flavorful and prepared to perfection. I especially like the roasted potato chunks. The waiters and waitresses were very attentive throughout. Loved being by the window and watching the waters.
1) the oysters on the half shell were both sandy and had shell fragment in them.
2) the prime rib was over cooked and the baked potato was a disgusting gray color
3) the waiter took out desert order and then dropped the check off before the deserts came. Rushing us out the door or what???
I waited 20 years to eat at this restaurant and it will be another 20 before I return. The ambience was amazing and my waiter was absolutely fabulous. However, the food was mediocre and being that my date and I were placed near an ordering station we had the unfortunate experience of overhearing other wait staff complain about customers. It was very unprofessional and the food was only mediocre for the price. While we did speak to what I presume is a manager who offered to remove items from our bill, we agreed yet when the bill came they were still there. My date and I gracefully paid and decided that we would just not return.
Big concert nt at Tacoma dome. Had 6:30 reservations but weren't seated until 7pm then it was additional half hr before we were even approached by a server (after having to flag down the manager) so an hr and 15 minutes after our reservation we finally had our wine & appetizers delivered. The staff was woefully unprepared for what was obviously going to be a huge nt for them. The manager had promised "to make it right" by offering some sort of compensation which was never reflected in our bill. Our server after finally being assigned to our table did do a really nice job of taking care of us. Just was disappointing to see others with later reservations being served promptly while we somehow slipped off the radar. Food good but service not so much. And it made for a really long evening...glad Garth Brooks made the afternoon and trip to Tacoma worth it!
It was our 27th wedding anniversary. I made the reservations two weeks in advance. We were seated right next to the bar in the corner. It was loud and everyone around us was drunk. After being seated we didn’t see our server for over 20 min. When she took our order we asked for bread and our drinks right away. Another 15 min later she brought our drinks but still no bread. When she finally brought our bread we had no plates to put it on. We asked for our salad before our meal but it came out with our meal an hour later. Our reservation was for 5:30. We left at 8:30. It was crazy busy but this was supposed to be a special night. Very disappointed. We couldn’t even talk to each other as it was so loud.
Our appetizer (Lobster Quesadilla) was delicious as was the Grapefruit Martini that our server recommended - minus the lipstick on my glass...I don't wear lipstick :/ Unfortunately, there was COLD air blowing on our table so a coffee with Bailey's would have been more appropriate. I had the scallops for dinner and they were decent - nothing to write home about but good. My husband's lobster roll and clam chowder were also mediocre. Our server was friendly but not very attentive - we had to wait for drink refills multiple times. Lastly, there were many open tables but the waiting area was FULL when we left. With a huge event (Garth Brooks) at the Tacoma Dome, I would have expected more staff on hand to handle a busy night. Overall, it was just ok. I would go back for the Martini, bring a parka and try a different entrée.
Food was good for the price. My steak was over cooked and I can get a better Rib-eye from my local butcher. Waiter was nowhere to be seen most of the night. Others in our party ordered the prime rib which looked good. seat cushions on the chairs are old and thus you sit way to low to the table. Overall we had a good time but won't be coming back.
We were having dinner with a group of friends and decided to try something new, so glad we did! We were running a little late Due to traffic and they held a reservation for us without an issue our table was beautiful and right on the water as we requested our server was obviously knew but very polite very friendly and obviously very clear to please he did make a few mistakes but was super friendly about it when I corrected and our food was amazing so no big deal it was well worth the money and will definitely be back again
After having reservations for weeks, we were seated in the bar without a view. Restaurant was fairly empty during our visit.
Restaurant was prepping for a big night and were 'saving' view tables for large parties.
Our food was cold and over cooked... steak was seasoned well and the presentation was nice.
We most likely will not be back.
Very disappointed. My family and I have always loved this restaurant. However, this time the steak was very cold and the flavor was awful; to say the least. It came out without a steak knife so we had to wait 5 minutes to eat. My salad was soggy. The appetizer crab cake was the only good thing :)
Our waiter was amazing. Very friendly and took time to review the menu with us and offer suggestions. I flew in from Oklahoma wanting to surprise my mom for her birthday and this was a perfect location. My daughter was 45 minutes late as she got off work late but her food was served to her fresh and without any mention of inconvenience. She was immediately poured a glass of wine and was tended to quickly and with kindness. My family loved the food and having the small room to ourselves for privacy was perfect. My Mom who is pictured below has not stopped talking about how wonderful it all was!!! Thank you so much!
Everything nice, took advantage of restaurant week lunch special. Great service, fantastic view, but noise level too loud, was hard to carry on a conversation without shouting and repeating. I don't know if we were under a speaker or what, but it would be nice to have a quieter dining area/option for those who don't need loud music while they're dining...just saying.
What can I say, it was a wonderful experience. When we arrived, our room was ready and waiting for us and set up very nicely. Our waitress introduced herself to us and immediately asked for our drink requests. She was very attentive the whole time anything that someone asked for was brought asap. My husband was very much surprised and satisfied with his Birthday Celebration. Thank you very much and yes, I will recommend this restaurant to all my friends.
Usually love this place...went for brunch, food was running out, and the service was awful. Waitress never had our water filled, forgot certain drinks. Manager offered a comped dessert because some other diners were openingly complaining about my table “laughing too loud”— However the comp did not appear on the bill. Overall a disappointing food experience ☹️
We were a party of four for Sunday brunch. Table was set for two, made multiple requests for napkins and extra place settings (first ones were not clean). At one point, there was at least eight people waiting for plates at the buffet and numerous food items were empty. The overall selection was good and the food was well prepared. I give major kudos to the gentlemen who were preparing the crepes and omelets. They were very friendly and did a great job!
Asked for a table by the window so we could see the water and they exceeded our expectations with a corner table with excellent views all around! It was even in a quieter part of the restaurant. Food was great and the experience we were looking for! Will continue to go back!
So very disappointed in the overall experience of our brunch: started with caked on food on our utensils wrapped in a napkin at the table; food in the serving warmers was low/out and the food that was there was not hot; line waiting for crepes/omelets was at a stand still ?no servers or carvers?; waited for plates and they were wet; iced tea you could see through looked liked water with a dash of color; shall I continue? This restaurant used to have an excellent reputation for service, food, positive dining experience. Our party and friends will not be returning any time soon.
We were sadly disappointed in our service and food. We are long time patrons of CI but it will be a long time if ever that we return. Our server was inept and got orders wrong. Was slow to bring bread plates or remove plates that were done. Had to repeatedly ask for soda while he quickly brought the other alcoholic drinks. Salads had little or no dressing and steak was cold. So much was wrong it wasn't worth the stink. Had to cut prawns with knife to eat as they were so over cooked. Just a sad meal for a birthday celebration. Certainly not a 300.00 meal
The view of the waterfront from our table was beautiful. The cedar planked salmon was delicious, the crusted halibut was excellent and the dinner salad entrée was a prize winner.
The service was prompt, friendly and efficient. This was a small gathering of family members to remember someone very special to all of us. We were given time to dine and visit without feeling rushed. All in all, it was a lovely experience and we will return again.
