French toast was a bit under cooked today. It is one of my favorite things to get and was not that today.
I didnt like the service. No one was tracking my anniversry.
It was Tacoma restaurant week so good food for cheap is always great. I’ve eaten here before and it never disappoints
The waiter was very good, but the beef entrees were more medium than medium rare and when I told the waiter my filet was over cooked he had to take it to the manager or the chef to prove it before they would cook me another one. Also, one of our party ordered coconut shrimp and it was over cooked and the accompanying rice was dry. Overall, we had a good time due to a great waiter and the people we were celebrating with, but I felt the prices were high and the food did not meet the expectations.
The wedge salad was excellent and the stuffed mushrooms were great.
The food was fine, but they were out of the artichokes, which is why I selected Shenanigans. Also, my stomach hurt in the middle of the night, so something did not agree with me.
Enjoyed lunch with my spouse during Tacoma Restaurant Week for $15 per person. We both had clam chowder for appetizer, fish and chips for entre and tiramisu and cheesecake for dessert, respectively. Food was good and large portions for entrée (two large fillets of fish with plenty of French Fries). Scenic view of the waterfront. Not that it was a major negative, but the young waiter only stated a few words to us during our entire lunch. And quietly, too. Could have been even more enjoyable with some casual conversations about the day, lunch specials or recommendations. Won't prevent us from returning someday but he's not a good waiter.
Your three course luncheon was more than adequate food wise , very reasonable and enjoyable. our server had many tables assigned to her so we had to wait for service at times. over all the time spent was very good.
Great Sunday Brunch with an amazing variety of dishes. Friendly staff, great food with an wonderful view.
we always go for Sunday brunch but the quality is a hit & miss.
The food and service was very good. The only negative thing is that the food came out much too fast. We had not finished our salads and when I said something to the server who brought the food, he asked if I wanted him to put it back under the light. For me that was not an option.
The best is the incredible location!
It was a Birthday celebration for my husband. Mentioned it to the hostess and also put it in the reservation. No one acknowledged it and requested a window table. Saw a few available when they seated us, not at a window . Nothing special about this restaurant.
Always enjoy the coziness of this restaurant. The Easter buffet was THE BEST !
We went there for a birthday celebration. Service was tremendous, cocktails were superb and the atmosphere was terrific. The food was out of this world. We will definitely go back.
Excellent Sunday brunch with lots to choose from.
When I made reservations, I didn't realize they only had brunch, but we definitely enjoyed it.
Excellent service and ambiance. We've been there for many occasions from birthday celebrations to date night. We especially enjoy the brunch on Sunday! Good crab legs, salmon, shrimp, crepes, eggs Benedict! My only disappointment was that I do not see any cooked vegetable entrees except for the breakfast potatoes. Some cooked broccoli, or asparagus or green beans would be great with the Roast beef or Ham. A senior discount was not automatically given nor asked about but the server gladly obliged. I love the views, seating and great cocktails available a reasonable prices.
Sunday Brunch was great! Had an 11:30 reservation for 7, got there 15 minutes early and they seated us right away! They don't give you much to go on menu wise on their website, but everything that was offered was top notch. Especially the cold shrimp and Dungeness crab legs! All the seafood( clams, and oysters too!) was fresh and they were constantly bringing out more chaffing dishes to replenish the options. The something sweet table was well stocked with the pecan roll with caramel sauce being the standout. Also the $3 mimosas were tasty, boozy and a great deal, with our server coming back to ask if we needed a refill or anything else very frequently. We had out of state relatives visiting and this reservation didn't disappoint, I requested a window table and we actually got one! That never happens, you could put down that you were dining with the Pope at some places and they would still stick you by the kitchen. Great value and come hungry!
Restaurant was suggested by a friend. Very pleasant experience, food was delicious and very well prepared and presented by the servers. Omelet maker was efficient and suggested additives which would enhance the item; crepes very well prepared. The only item that I feel could be improved was the deviled eggs which had no flavor but whomever piped the filling did very well.
Prime rib was very well prepared and the seafood was delicious. Overall it was a great brunch experience. I will return and recommend to others
I don't want it to seem like I don't like CI Shennigan's. I have been going to brunch here for probably 20 years. I do think the quality and the variety of food offered has diminished greatly while the price goes up in the past 5 years. I would love them to elevate themselves to the quality they used to be. We have been disappointed the past 3 or 4 visits. It will be some time before we give it another chance. Sad to say.... Used to be a go to favorite for a special brunch.
Waiter and service were great! Food was disappointing to say the least
We came here over the summer, sat on the deck and had a great dinner. This time was pretty different. The place was empty for a Friday night at 630. My ahi dinner was pretty bland, overcooked rice accompanied. Hubby says fish n chips was good, huge portion. Mom got chicken marsala but it was not traditional, real thick, heavy creamy sauce no hint of marsala to be found. Lobster quesedilla had by kids seemed decent. OK traditional margarita, hard, stale bread. Bruschetta was ok, bread was blah and super hard. Red shananagin was good. Waiter was nice, did birthday dessert for my daughter
We had a luncheon for friends who meet usually once a month to enjoy each other and sample
Tacoma cuisine. It was a great atmosphere, great view, good service, and the food was great. We will come back again.
Great food and a lovely view, as usual. The individual waiting out table was nice but not particularly attentive. She kept forgetting items which needed to be re-requested (sugar, straws, etc.) but these were just minor details. Great staff overall
We have always loved going there and I was looking forward to the French onion soup (the best I have ever had). Unfortunately they have a new chef and don't have it anymore. We were very disappointed this time and probably won't go back. We waited about 20 mins before the waiter came. We asked for bread and took awhile but finally got it. But we didn't have a plate or a knife so we buttered the rolls with the fork. I looked around and none of the other tables did either. We were celebrating a birthday. We both ordered the filet mignon - med and med rare. They were both well done. They took them back. When we got them back our potatoes weren't there and also my bernaise sauce. The filets were still over cooked. It was just one thing after another. The only good thing about the evening was when we got the bill all they charged us for was the drinks.
3 out of 6 of us ordered Prime Rib and NONE of them were as tender as you’d want a Prime Rib to be. They were ALL tough and chewy. This is the first time we’ve had issues with the food. The service is great, view is always amazing and price is a little high for what you get.
The calamari appetizer was the only thing I enjoyed. My wife’s food was cold. They microwaved the plate and brought it back out with a new steak that was worse from the first one. It was burnt and dry.
My mom had a great time at brunch. Overall it was a great first time experience
Well we arrived at our reservation a few minutes early and were told there was one table in front of us. Then the table got sat. So we were supposed to be next - however they then took a group of walk in people. I asked the hostess about it and she seemed surprised we were still there. She sat us in the bar - we watched people walk in and seat themselves in the bar. The bar then filled up and the one bartender was very overwhelmed as her entire bar top and tables were now full. Thankfully we were at the buffet and able to get our own food. It was not a good experience and we were celebrating my birthday so it made it very disappointing. Do t think we’ll be back and what’s the point of a reservation if they’re going to sit walk ins prior to seating those with reservations?
I've been to Shenanigan's Sunday Brunch several times in the past and always liked it. However, this time I was a bit disappointed. The mixed fruit bowl was almost empty and not replaced the time I was there. The salmon platter and deviled eggs were placed in full sun. There was a definite lack of vegetables. It seemed like the staff was overwhelmed and rushed. THAT took away from the ambience of a typical brunch on a beautiful day by the water. Too bad, I hope they improve their service again!
Made reservations for 6:45 pm for dinner but was seated in the bar because there were no tables available in the restaurant at the time we arrived for our reservation. Not sure why we needed to make a reservation to sit in the bar.
Everything else was great!!
Friday evening date. Seated at 5:00pm. We had a wonderful table near the windows to enjoy the wonderful view. Started with their 'perfect' margarita. It was very good. My wife ordered the stuffed sole and I had the stuffed chicken marsala. Wife says the sole dish was outstanding. It was smothered in a rich lobster sauce that she said really made the dish. The chicken marsala dish was good but not great. It was served on mashed potatoes and covered with a mushroom sauce. The mushroom sauce was nuclear hot but the wrapped, stuffed chicken was only warm and was a little dry. Still enjoyed the meal but they could do a little better. Waiter was very helpful and courteous.
My wife's meal was very disappointing. Steak was very tuff.
Wonderful...large selections of seaford items. Nice location. Will revisit soon.
We were really disappointment in our visit, and will never be back. We ordered drinks, then tried to get the server's attention repeatedly to order an appetizer. Never successfully got her attention. Took forever to get our drinks, when my margarita came, there were so many ice chunks that it was barely drinkable. Ordered steamed clams, they were all full of sand and half were still closed. We ended up not eatting them. The main dishes included under cooked green beans that lacked seasoning. And to finish the experience, the table was cleared while we were still sitting at the table and before we payed, including our water and wine glasses which still had wine in them. This was our first time visiting, and will be our last.
It had been at least 20 years since I’d eaten here. Food was good. Service could have been a lot better! It seemed as if they were under staffed. I’m not sure I’d eat here again. Maybe give it another 20! Lol
My lady's fish tacos were passable with exception dried tortillas. The poopoos were better than average...we had the ahi and the fried squid--nice presentation. But...the prime rib wasn't close to average. Maybe, it was just a dull steak knife, but I also had a hard time chewing. I know what prime is, having cut meat at the Comsy for 8 yrs...my 10oz piece was more like select not even choice. I said nothing to our waiter (Williams was great)nor anyone else...my bad. This was a Sunday early evening meal and the place was not even a quarter full. My wife's MaiTai was "berry gud!"
Brunch was good, it was super busy but the food was tasty. Gets crowded.
Good food. Nice wait staff. Arrived a little early for reservations and they sat us right away.
This Restaurant is going downhill. We were disappointed on several levels. I've been going to their Sunday Brunch for over 15 years now. The food, service and buffet presentation were all less than it used to be. It wasn't busy either, just moderate. It would make sense if it was only one area, but unfortunately, there were several. I won't be going back, that's for sure. How disappointing! There are so many restaurants donw there now why bother with this one anymore? The hash brown casserole was dry, and some of the other foods were overcooked.
Our server was not only slow but unattentive, the meat carver was unhappy or bored, not sure which, but he wasn't happy to help. O the front line they need to at least be neutral if they aren't going to be friendly. He was unfriendly. We couldn't get a coffee refill the entire meal until we were done eating and ready to go. The buffet table looked like it was only partially set up where the salad section is. Speaking of salad, the bagged lettuce was all wilted, and we were really surprised that it would get set out looking so bad. It wasn't from sitting all day as we were there early. Overall the staff seems unhappy and the food just isn't as good as it used to be or up to the standards that it used to be.
Had a great time catching up with friends. Shenanigans Brunch is always a treat! Somewhat pricey, but also worth it. Go hungry! Dean was our server - very attentive and pleasant. We never ran out of beverages or water.
This was by far my worst dinner date out yet! I have Gone to CI shenanigans a For a couple special occasion dinners and this time was by far the worst! Our reservation was for seven and we didn’t get seated until 730 then it took the waiter a while to bring us drinks and we ended up not even getting our dinner tell late! My dinner was very over cooked and not worth 18 dollars! The only thing that made me not say anything was it was super late I was already annoyed and just wanted to go!
