We have always loved going there and I was looking forward to the French onion soup (the best I have ever had). Unfortunately they have a new chef and don't have it anymore. We were very disappointed this time and probably won't go back. We waited about 20 mins before the waiter came. We asked for bread and took awhile but finally got it. But we didn't have a plate or a knife so we buttered the rolls with the fork. I looked around and none of the other tables did either. We were celebrating a birthday. We both ordered the filet mignon - med and med rare. They were both well done. They took them back. When we got them back our potatoes weren't there and also my bernaise sauce. The filets were still over cooked. It was just one thing after another. The only good thing about the evening was when we got the bill all they charged us for was the drinks.
3 out of 6 of us ordered Prime Rib and NONE of them were as tender as you’d want a Prime Rib to be. They were ALL tough and chewy. This is the first time we’ve had issues with the food. The service is great, view is always amazing and price is a little high for what you get.
The calamari appetizer was the only thing I enjoyed. My wife’s food was cold. They microwaved the plate and brought it back out with a new steak that was worse from the first one. It was burnt and dry.
My mom had a great time at brunch. Overall it was a great first time experience
Well we arrived at our reservation a few minutes early and were told there was one table in front of us. Then the table got sat. So we were supposed to be next - however they then took a group of walk in people. I asked the hostess about it and she seemed surprised we were still there. She sat us in the bar - we watched people walk in and seat themselves in the bar. The bar then filled up and the one bartender was very overwhelmed as her entire bar top and tables were now full. Thankfully we were at the buffet and able to get our own food. It was not a good experience and we were celebrating my birthday so it made it very disappointing. Do t think we’ll be back and what’s the point of a reservation if they’re going to sit walk ins prior to seating those with reservations?
I've been to Shenanigan's Sunday Brunch several times in the past and always liked it. However, this time I was a bit disappointed. The mixed fruit bowl was almost empty and not replaced the time I was there. The salmon platter and deviled eggs were placed in full sun. There was a definite lack of vegetables. It seemed like the staff was overwhelmed and rushed. THAT took away from the ambience of a typical brunch on a beautiful day by the water. Too bad, I hope they improve their service again!
Made reservations for 6:45 pm for dinner but was seated in the bar because there were no tables available in the restaurant at the time we arrived for our reservation. Not sure why we needed to make a reservation to sit in the bar.
Everything else was great!!
Friday evening date. Seated at 5:00pm. We had a wonderful table near the windows to enjoy the wonderful view. Started with their 'perfect' margarita. It was very good. My wife ordered the stuffed sole and I had the stuffed chicken marsala. Wife says the sole dish was outstanding. It was smothered in a rich lobster sauce that she said really made the dish. The chicken marsala dish was good but not great. It was served on mashed potatoes and covered with a mushroom sauce. The mushroom sauce was nuclear hot but the wrapped, stuffed chicken was only warm and was a little dry. Still enjoyed the meal but they could do a little better. Waiter was very helpful and courteous.
My wife's meal was very disappointing. Steak was very tuff.
Wonderful...large selections of seaford items. Nice location. Will revisit soon.
We were really disappointment in our visit, and will never be back. We ordered drinks, then tried to get the server's attention repeatedly to order an appetizer. Never successfully got her attention. Took forever to get our drinks, when my margarita came, there were so many ice chunks that it was barely drinkable. Ordered steamed clams, they were all full of sand and half were still closed. We ended up not eatting them. The main dishes included under cooked green beans that lacked seasoning. And to finish the experience, the table was cleared while we were still sitting at the table and before we payed, including our water and wine glasses which still had wine in them. This was our first time visiting, and will be our last.
It had been at least 20 years since I’d eaten here. Food was good. Service could have been a lot better! It seemed as if they were under staffed. I’m not sure I’d eat here again. Maybe give it another 20! Lol
My lady's fish tacos were passable with exception dried tortillas. The poopoos were better than average...we had the ahi and the fried squid--nice presentation. But...the prime rib wasn't close to average. Maybe, it was just a dull steak knife, but I also had a hard time chewing. I know what prime is, having cut meat at the Comsy for 8 yrs...my 10oz piece was more like select not even choice. I said nothing to our waiter (Williams was great)nor anyone else...my bad. This was a Sunday early evening meal and the place was not even a quarter full. My wife's MaiTai was "berry gud!"
Brunch was good, it was super busy but the food was tasty. Gets crowded.
Good food. Nice wait staff. Arrived a little early for reservations and they sat us right away.
This Restaurant is going downhill. We were disappointed on several levels. I've been going to their Sunday Brunch for over 15 years now. The food, service and buffet presentation were all less than it used to be. It wasn't busy either, just moderate. It would make sense if it was only one area, but unfortunately, there were several. I won't be going back, that's for sure. How disappointing! There are so many restaurants donw there now why bother with this one anymore? The hash brown casserole was dry, and some of the other foods were overcooked.
Our server was not only slow but unattentive, the meat carver was unhappy or bored, not sure which, but he wasn't happy to help. O the front line they need to at least be neutral if they aren't going to be friendly. He was unfriendly. We couldn't get a coffee refill the entire meal until we were done eating and ready to go. The buffet table looked like it was only partially set up where the salad section is. Speaking of salad, the bagged lettuce was all wilted, and we were really surprised that it would get set out looking so bad. It wasn't from sitting all day as we were there early. Overall the staff seems unhappy and the food just isn't as good as it used to be or up to the standards that it used to be.
Had a great time catching up with friends. Shenanigans Brunch is always a treat! Somewhat pricey, but also worth it. Go hungry! Dean was our server - very attentive and pleasant. We never ran out of beverages or water.
This was by far my worst dinner date out yet! I have Gone to CI shenanigans a For a couple special occasion dinners and this time was by far the worst! Our reservation was for seven and we didn’t get seated until 730 then it took the waiter a while to bring us drinks and we ended up not even getting our dinner tell late! My dinner was very over cooked and not worth 18 dollars! The only thing that made me not say anything was it was super late I was already annoyed and just wanted to go!
The restaurant was extremely cold and uncomfortable for such a nice place. Had to keep my coat on as did my business partner the entire time. Even the waiter, who was extremely helpful said he was cold and had talked to the manager about it.
The food was good, not spectacular and we requested and received a quiet table so that we could conduct our business.
My husband and I visited at 5pm on a Sunday night. The host was very friendly, and the restaurant was mostly empty. We ordered the rib eye and the stuffed chicken marsala, and then waited approximately 30 minutes for our food to be prepared. The rib eye was fabulous, though lacking the described onions, but the chicken was overcooked. After delivering our food, the waiter only returned to drop off the bill, so we had no opportunity to request that the chicken be remade. Then our credit card didn't work with their system, and no one was able to determine the issue. Overall the experience could have been better, especially based on the cost and the way the restaurant sells itself as a destination for fine dining.
We occasionally go for Sunday Brunch. This time, the dessert buffet and the fresh fruit and salads were substantially diminished from the usual options. Many food options were frequently empty. Also, at least twice there were no plates available...dozens of people were standing around waiting for plates. Not very organized today.
We had a 7 PM reservation but were not seated until 7:25 PM and when seated we were escorted to the most undesirable table in the back corner of the bar area and told that was all there was. At that point, the evening got much better. Our server, Zena, was excellent. Friendly, courteous and quick, she got drinks and appetizers going immendiately. As always, the food at C.I.'s is excellent and service once seated was superb.
Great service from the moment we walked in the door. Tony, our server, was exceptionally good at answering menu questions and making us feel welcomed.
Food was good
We were early for our reservation and seated immediately. It was a Valentine's date. They had a great specialty meal option for the evening. Our server forgot to mention addition specials not on the menus. The service was otherwise very courteous, quick and attentive without being intrusive. The waterfront view is always amazing.
The food was good. But I had the Prime Rib and when it came, the meat look like they cut it with a saw. Presentation was terrible. They did not give any juice for the meat. The horseradish was terrible. The meat otherwise was tender and tasty. The whole meal was good.
Great food and Great service! We booked at the last minute on Valentines Day, was able to get a nice seating/viewing area and the services were very accomadating and quick.
My favorite place for Sunday brunch! I always bring out of state family and friends here
and am always very satisfied.
Food was barely warm when served. Asked for it to be heated but to not replace the food with new serving. They replaced the food with new, but had very little sauce, rice was dry and food still wasn't hot. If I have to take it home to heat it they way it should be, what's the point of eating out?
Food choices are very good... French toast to the apple crisp
Everything was great except we got there too late for the prime rib. So if that’s what you are going there for, get there before 7:30.
I want to say that our server was fine but it seemed that he was over busy. Nice young man. Rib eye had it's good moments but was fatty and in two "sections". Lobster bisque was lovely!
Let me start this off with, my family owned a restaurant for 8 years. I do not take complaints in foodservice lightly as I know the adverse effect. I still work in foodservice now, which is the reason why I am writing.
The server (Scott) was charming. He did a great job.
The food and beverages were less then desired.
An old fashion was overly sweet. Our appetizer, 2x order of calamari was so overly salted that we pulled off the breading and didn’t finish the second plate.
Our salads before dinner had so much dressing, that it poured off the plate onto the serving tray when Scott initially pick up the plate. He also looked surprised. The corn served with my tacos was so spicy I didn’t eat it.
The prawns on my sisters order actually had a hint of chlorine. She asked everyone to try one and when we shared our thoughts she said “yah I know I can’t even eat them”.
The rice on my father and sister’s plate was over and under cooked in parts which is confusing. Scott made up for the rice by providing dessert, he is a gem.
However, this is so unusual for the location. I have eaten here many times for brunch and special occasions and I have never had an experience like this.
I tried to share feedback to the email listed online - And got a bounce back.
I also tried to call and no one answered the phone on two occasions.
We were seated ar the exact time of our reservation. Our server was very good, she made the whole experience very pleasant.
Been here a handful of times before and always had been satisfied with the food and service. This time, not so much. Host brought us to wrong table at first (no big deal), then sat at the table for over 10mins before I had to track down a manager to find our server. Server brought the wrong drink for my wife (she ordered unsweetened iced tea and he brought wine). Food was ok at best, not in line with past visits here. Most things on this occasion would have been a little understandable for a Saturday night except for the fact that it was not particularly busy (plenty of open tables). I think I can see why I was able to get a table so easily that night.
Two for lunch on a Saturday - exceptionally quiet, though may not be the case once weather warms. I had the asparagus/mozzarella & added chicken, the birthday girl had the reuben - both excellent. Already planning a return when calendars permit.
We were impressed with the service we received. We were celebrating my girlfriend's birthday, which was funny considering it was also our waiter's birthday as well. The food was amazing and I finally was able to try my first lobster roll; you can guarantee there are more to be had. Great experience and I will recommend to all my friends.
Very good weekend brunch with unlimited standard beverages. Some of the food wasn't very warm and could be improved with enforcing lids being closed on potatoes, eggs, bacon, sausage, etc.
I wanted to give you some feedback on our dining experience in your establishment last Saturday. I'm not usually a food and dining critic, but having spent a significant time working in high end restaurants in Seattle for consolidated, I felt I should report to you.
We had a 6pm reservation for 4, upon arriving at our table we found the wine glasses dirty with lipstick still on them, and a couple pieces of silver dirty, not a good first impression. On to the appetizers, the Oysters were not shucked correctly as the muscles were not cut, and they were not served with cocktail forks. The crab shrimp artichoke dip was good. Our server Cameron must have been new, but needs a bit more training, told us the vegetable was green beans when it was asparagus. We had to flag down other servers to get more water ,he needs to be more attentive to his tables needs. The steaks and crab were good co cocktail fork with the crab either, however my cedar plank Salmon was over cooked.
This was a special occasion dinner (birthday) that I believe should have been a lot better. When I spend those kind of dollars I expect more.
