Upscale decor provided added value to delicious food and outstanding service.
While I have eaten at this restaurant a number of times and enjoyed it consistently, I am unable to praise it on this visit in any way. The reason for this is that my reservation was accepted in Open Table and confirmed, but when we arrived at the restaurant we found it to be closed for a private party event!
We were offered an anemic apology and nothing in the way of consolation for the fact that we had booked a reservation.
Not sure I will ever go back again.
The food and ambience was great. Our server was very pleasant and made sure we were very comfortable.
It was delicious as always. I had reserved a table, and put that it was for a birthday, but there was nothing special added or suggested for the birthday person when we were there, which was fine, but I half expected there to be some birthday option.
The curries were excellent as expected. We order the mixed grill meat which a disappointment as everything was overcooked and hard. Nan was exceptional as it was not greasy as at other venues.
Good solid Indian Northern Indian cuisine with a few South Indian type dishes. Convenient downtown Bellevue location, great for lunch, overall good experience.
Amazing dining experience. The gentleman that I assume was the owner was charming. He was so accommodating and gave the best recommendations. I will definitely be back next time I'm in the area.
When in the mood for Indian, we always go to Chutney's. The food is authentic and made from scratch. You can tell from the taste. There is no comparison to any Indian restaurant on the Eastside in my opinion.
We wanted a place for the 12 of us for Mother's Day dinner and it needed to be quiet enough for my 84 year old mother to hear. Our host (i believe he's also the owner) could not have been more gracious and welcoming-he made my mother feel like a queen. The rest of the staff was awesome as well and our entire party had a wonderful time. Oh, and the food was also outstanding!
Everything was awesome!
Great food. Great service. Great value.
The lunch buffet is excellent. We went around 2pm and it was fairly quiet. There is a great variety offered at the buffet.
We went during lunch time and it seems to be a popular option for business lunches. The restaurant was pretty full but we were still able to be sat rather quickly. We both chose to do the lunch buffet and it really is a great deal. My friend is vegetarian and she loves the options that were offered. I personally really enjoyed the meatball curry, farmers cheese with bell peppers, and the rice pudding. The tandoori chicken had a great presentation but the meat was awfully dry.
The food was good. However, we were there for two hours even though we left right after paying the bill. We were there for 45 minutes before anyone even came to our table and ask if we want a drink (or to order food).
Celebrating birthday and Valentine's Day. Reservation for six people. Chose restaurant due to past experiences at the Queen Anne location. As always the food was excellent. However, the service was subpar. Not enough staff to serve the customers and not enough kitchen staff to prepare the food. Even though it was Valentine's Day, management should have been prepared. Lack of attention to guests beverages was noticeable and I had to go staff person inquiring the whereabouts of one entrée. Really disappointed with the service.
As always, Chutney's was very good. We arrived early and were seated in. The corner window where we could watch people on the street. We each had a coconut curry. One Lamb and the other chicken. Both were very good and enough was leftover for lunch the next day. The nann is usually good, but this trip it was dry and crisp.
Great place for dinner. Very good Indian food. One of my favorite places so far.
Great stop over in Gabarone - food excellent but decor very basic. Would definitely go again if in the area.
Ordered mild. Food came too spicy. Restaurant nearly empty.
We were there to celebrate late Father's Day. The food was good, and offered fine options for me as a vegetarian and for my son and husband as omnivores. The tandoori shrimp was a little dry, though, they said. The saag paneer was wonderful. Thanks.
Delicious! Every dish we ordered was marvelous with the opportunity to adjust the heat to just the way you like it. Together with fresh naan...mmmmmm! We had vegetable samosas and curried mussels for appetizers; chicken tikka Marsala, seafood biryani, lamb vindaloo, vegetable korma, daal makhani, creamed spinach w cheese for dinner; and finished with rose, vanilla and coconut ice cream. This is my favorite place for Indian cuisine in the PNW! And...the best service too. You can't go wrong here. Enjoy!!!
Excellent food, we worked thru many small plates of different dishes and they were all outstanding!!
The personal attention given by the owner elevates this restaurant experience. Very rare to find these days; you feel he really cares, right down to helping suggest what to order and what food complements a wine.
Loved the Byriani.
The staff are friendly and very efficient.
Just a really pleasant place to go and have very good Indian food
My husband and I have been coming back about once every two months for 10 years! The quality is consistently wonderful. The owner's mother makes the mulligatawny soup every day. It is so fresh and lively! Everything on the menu is delicious. I always try something new. Try the tandoori halibut, or rack of lamb. The farmer's cheese naan is awesome!
Great hospitality and quiet. Rack of lamb is awesome. Mostly kababs and tandoor items are great here. Biriyani was not up to the mark.
The chicken tikka masala was the best entree, followed by muttar paneer. The lamb vindaloo was disappointing, as the sauce was too diluted for our taste. We had 2 orders of naan (potato and garlic). The entire meal came up to $68 (after an atuomatic 18% service charge and sales tax). It was over-priced for what we had.
Staff were friendly and attentive. Management should re-look at their menu pricing.
Gathered they have a fixed priced lunch buffet. That is a good option to taste their offerings.
Food was pretty good, although way overpriced. Charging for rice is always a negative. Service is slow, even though the restaurant wasn't busy. People who were seated after us were already eating when we were still waiting for our food to come out. Will not be returning.
This restaurant has not aged well. While the entrée we had was quite good, the appetizers were marginal. Perhaps we should have taken advantage of the noontime buffet--would definitely not recommend ordering off the menu while the buffet is available.
Food was very good...wish you got a small salad or cup of soup included tho for the price. If you want rice that is extra too. Wine is in the expensive side too so be prepared to spend $100 for dinner for 2 for 2 dinners rice naan bread and wine.
Would try again but maybe for lunch. Excellent service!
