Amazing experience. One of my favorite Indian restaurants I’ve ever enjoyed. If you appreciate Dishoom in London or Babu Ji in NYC, Chutneys in Bellevue is in this esteemed company. Excellent!
Delicious, authentic Indian cuisine with top notch service! Place is normally pretty quiet and I always have enough left over for another meal. Great deal!
The host was odd. We purchased a $50 bottle of wine which he showed us, attempted to open, and then disappeared into the back for about 20 minutes. He finally resurfaced with the bottle which looked like it had be cut open at the seal. At the end of the meal, he brought us a personal CC approval unit which kept malfunctioning. He then proceeded to write in the tip amount in himself and then run our CC. It was just an odd experience.
South Indian halibut, 3 star comes with fresh chili, scoop it up with the best naan in town, an ice cold Taj (or two) helps it down.
Great ambiance and COVID precautions were enforced. Wonderful location in Bellevue downtown and theme food and service was phenomenal.
Coming in for the first time on Valentine’s, we were so pleased to have the most wonderful waitress, Lilly, and such delicious food at a very reasonable price point for the ambiance and care given. Thank you for the lovely evening!!
We were there on Valentines Day and they were busy, but also still had open reservation about two hours before we reserved a table. We really enjoyed it. The only ding might be that service was a little slow and they seemed to have too many tables per server. But it was Valentines Day and they probably did not think they would be so busy since open table had plenty of open reservations for them so close to the dinner hour. We will go back for sure.
We went there for a team lunch and it was a great value for the price we paid. Most of us tried the open buffet for lunch.
Good food in a tasteful modern environment
Amazing team at Chutney's. Very accommodating and friendly staff. Even made something off the menu for one of our party; incredible.
We were in town for a conference and had a party of 20 people. We needed some place close enough that we could walk to from the Hyatt. We were lucky enough to choose this restaurant and were extremely happy with our experience !! The manager was very helpful and suggested that we do a family style meal to save time and cost. We chose some appetizers, entrees, and a dessert. Soon we had a table full of delicious food! We were very happy with the quality, taste, as well as the service. It was a great value and we really enjoyed the family style meal! Everyone on staff was extremely friendly, the portions were very good and the taste was great! The server did a great job with keeping up with our drinks, clearing plates etc. She also had no issue with giving us all separate checks which is often a problem with this size party. It was not an issue at all here. The decor in the restaurant was also very nice. I would highly recommend this restaurant, especially if you have a larger party and want great food and service!
Wonderful and welcoming service, delicious meals, and really nice atmosphere!
really good. chicken tikka masala. naan. everything
Chutney's is like an old friend. We come on occasion and are pleasantly surprised. The recent remodel makes the ambiance very nice. We enjoyed the seafood briyani, eggplant bharta, and an old favorite chicken tika masala. The chef makes the dishes by scratch so there's no funny aftertaste after the meal. Chutney's is our favorite Indian restaurant of the area.
Chutneys was a great spot for a small group dinner. The restaurant is super clean and well decorated. The food was delicious and generous portion. The only downside was their to-go boxes, which are just square styrofoam containers. They should spring for plastic or compostable round containers, as these are much better for storing and transporting Indian food. We will definitely be back (with our own containers for leftovers)!
We sat outside which was nice, but The plastic lawn chairs are very uncomfortable. Seems cheap for the price of the food and level of dining.
Chutneys is great food & location - it's currently being updated so looks messy right now.
Would be good to know when they will finish the updating work - will return once its finished.
The food at Chutney's is perfectly flavored; both rich and interesting without too much heat. Murg Bahar is my favorite dish, but the Tandori Lamb here is outstanding. Truthfully, I haven't tried anything that wasn't excellent. The atmosphere isn't the standard Seattle "industrial" look. Finished ceilings, wood decor and tasteful art choices lend a relaxed chic vibe. The staff is friendly and helpful with suggestions.
food was cold and completely bland, no taste at all. one of the worst indian food restaurant i ever ate.
They served non fresh food.
Fantastic food and amazing personal service!
Delicious Indian food! LOVED it♥️!
Best Indian food in the city!!!
We love this place! Live close by and it is always a good experience, which keeps bringing us back. We took my mom there for dinner and had a great experience and she was also really impressed. Owner is super friendly and welcoming, as are all of the staff. Good attention to detail and great service. Food is really delicious and they will actually make it spicy if requested. Here, a "5" means a "5." Great somosas, naan, and lamb dishes. Nice atmosphere, good wine, and good prices. One of our favorites in downtown Bellevue because the whole experience is always positive.
Chutney's always has great food whenever I go there. they also have one of the best non-alcoholic drinks with their mango strawberry lemonade!
Excellent Indian food, good vegetarian and GF options. Wonderful service!
We eat at Chutney's in Bellevue fairly often for both lunch and dinner. We always find the food to be very good and well prepared with exceptional flavors. Our personal preference is the dinner menu vs the lunch buffet, which is very good and less expensive. Service is always first class and it is never very noise. We take friends.
We were sat promptly and offered excellent suggestions when asked.
Food was delicious but too Spicy. We asked for medium and it was definitely well above medium. Both of us can handle some heat but this was definitely on the spicier side. The server did bring raita free of charge to help when asked.
The food was simply delicious and we would definitely go back.
Totally on a side note, the restrooms needed attention . I realize this is a restaurant but it totally is a turn off when I go to any dining establishment and the toilet paper roll is not only empty by the dispenser is left gaping open and there is no towels or means with which to dry my hands after washing them.
That said, the food and service were good!
I've been going to Chutney's for special occasions for over 5 years now. I go for lunch because of the marvelous buffet. I've introduced many friends and relatives to Indian cuisine by taking them to Chutney's. All have been pleased with the food and ambiance. Highly recommend for the buffet lunch!
Excellent variety. Food was well prepared and delicious. We had a couple vegans so there was enough for everyone.
Drinks are a great deal!
We shall return!
Dashed in for an early dinner at 5:00. At that hour, they weren't busy but the place still had a nice vibe. Delicious food and warm service.
Upscale decor provided added value to delicious food and outstanding service.
While I have eaten at this restaurant a number of times and enjoyed it consistently, I am unable to praise it on this visit in any way. The reason for this is that my reservation was accepted in Open Table and confirmed, but when we arrived at the restaurant we found it to be closed for a private party event!
We were offered an anemic apology and nothing in the way of consolation for the fact that we had booked a reservation.
Not sure I will ever go back again.
The food and ambience was great. Our server was very pleasant and made sure we were very comfortable.
It was delicious as always. I had reserved a table, and put that it was for a birthday, but there was nothing special added or suggested for the birthday person when we were there, which was fine, but I half expected there to be some birthday option.
The curries were excellent as expected. We order the mixed grill meat which a disappointment as everything was overcooked and hard. Nan was exceptional as it was not greasy as at other venues.
Good solid Indian Northern Indian cuisine with a few South Indian type dishes. Convenient downtown Bellevue location, great for lunch, overall good experience.
Amazing dining experience. The gentleman that I assume was the owner was charming. He was so accommodating and gave the best recommendations. I will definitely be back next time I'm in the area.
When in the mood for Indian, we always go to Chutney's. The food is authentic and made from scratch. You can tell from the taste. There is no comparison to any Indian restaurant on the Eastside in my opinion.
We wanted a place for the 12 of us for Mother's Day dinner and it needed to be quiet enough for my 84 year old mother to hear. Our host (i believe he's also the owner) could not have been more gracious and welcoming-he made my mother feel like a queen. The rest of the staff was awesome as well and our entire party had a wonderful time. Oh, and the food was also outstanding!
