About Churrascaria Plataforma Brazilian Steakhouse
Churrascaria Plataforma Brazilian Steakhouse is a Rodizio style restaurant. Rodizio is a method of serving meat that originated in the south of Brazil in the early 1800's. The concept is to serve a wide variety of different cuts of beef - sirloin, baby beef, top round, skirt steak, short ribs, brisket, rib eye; pork - ham, pork ribs, sausage, pork loin, suckling pig; chicken - chicken legs, chicken hearts; turkey - wrapped in bacon; lamb, fish, etc. in succession, to each diner individually right at their table. A meal typically begins with a trip to the gourmet salad bar, which features a variety of vegetables and composed salads in addition to four hot dishes. We also serve a selection of side dishes at your table. The main course, the highlight of the meal, will start when you flip your coaster-sized "chip" from the red side to the green side, signaling the meat cutters you're ready to be served.

Churrascaria Plataforma Brazilian Steakhouse Ratings and Reviews
We’ve dined at Plataforma for many yesrs now. The meats are generally consistently good-to-excellent in terms of flavor, doneness, and variety, although on our most recent visit the short rib was a little dry and lacked flavor and the leg of lamb was somewhat tough. The service has always been excellent: the waitstaff always have a smile, check on you at reasonable intervals, are prompt when you have a request, and are very considerate with children. The wine slection is varied and can accommodate all price levels; excellent Caipirina as well.
We have eaten here over the years many times and loved it , it has been a while. We started with the salad bar, excellent, fresh and a lot of choices. But we were there for the meat . They kept coming over with meats immed but most of the meat was too rare( bloody). We told them we wanted med to med well and were told he would return. We never got the med meats. We had to eat the less rare meats. They kept coming with the same 3 types of steak and chicken and sausage . The meat was very bland and there were no sauces. We got the check and were paying when all of a sudden, fish, ham, landchops , hearts came out . Where were they for us . We asked for the manager who apologized and walked away like he could not be bothered. As we were leaving we again asked to speak to him and told him how upset we were , he offered us gift cards now. Handeled totally wrong . Maybe a really bad night for the restaurant but for $135 per couple I expect better
We spent Thanksgiving here after coming to town to watch the parade. It was a delightful experience- fantastic food, attentive and gracious service. A full Thanksgiving meal (turkey, stuffing, mashed potatoes) was available but the prime rib and garlic steak were hands down the best part of the meal. It was lovely! Make an early reservation if possible then walk around midtown and enjoy the holiday lights.
The greatest thing about this restaurant was the service. It was top notch. Everyone was so attentive to our every need. The food was very good and we left full and happy. It was very pricey, however it is Times Square in NY! We have been to Brazilian steak houses in San Francisco as well as Cape Cod and the price here was double. But again, NY! And the service here trumped probably every restaurant I've ever been to. Definitely a great place to go for a special occasion.
churrascaria plataforma is the best place to go when you're in the mood to eat meat meat and more meat!! don't fill up on the salar bar or divine cheesy-bread (which i pop right into my mouth - their bite size deliciousness) because the meat they serve is top notch! be ready to eat to your heart's content
Normally I’m a huge fan of Brazilian steakhouses, and I’ve had great luck at this particular one before. This time was different however.
To start off, they couldn’t find my reservation, however they did seat me for my meal. I was seated quickly and the servers came right over to my table.
I enjoyed the salad bar for a little bit of salad, which was very good.
The meal service was good and bad. The gauchos were excellent and brought me all the cuts rather quickly. The down side was almost every cut was over cooked, with most being around mediums. Even the brand new pieces that hadn’t even been cut yet were cooked to medium. I was very disappointed with this. A few cuts were also a little under seasoned.
After finishing my meal, it took nearly a half hour for my server to come bring me my final bill.
So overall I was not happy with my visit. Will I go back next time I’m in the area? I may try another churrascaria before trying this one.
It were a great experience. I thought all the meat would taste the same, luckily I was wrong. Every meats has it own texture and flavor.
However, I didn't know that desserts were excluding from the Prix Fixe. I was a little shock when I receive my bill.
It's worth to enjoy the restaurant on occasion.
Outstanding night out! The service was impeccable, the food was delicious, the ambiance superb! A great fit whether out on a date, a family outing, a post work get together, or after the theater this place can handle it. We made plans to return even before we left.
I'm afraid Plataforma has lost its edge. I've eaten there no less than 6 times in the last few years. This trip, the salad bar had at least 30%-40% fewer items. It was a typical salad bar with the usual stuff. Not even Hearts of Palm which is local to Brazil.
The meat was the usual. What was missing was the bbq pig on the rolling cart, the smoked salmon and other fish. I had to ask multiple times for a lamb chop. The sausages were good but there was only one variety offered. In the past we tasted different sausages.
If you are a wine drinker, watch out. White wine prices START at $55 and go up steeply from there. It's time to say goodbye to an old favorite.
The meats and salad bar were fantastic. I was very surprised that the dessert was not included and cost $10 a piece without them mentioning it was separate from dinner. They immediately bring the dessert cart to the table as they wisk away the last dinner dish - making you think it is part of the dining experience.
I felt it was overpriced. The beef was nice and cooked well. Lamb was over cooked, sausages average, chicken dry. My partner did not have that much, so paying the full price was not value for money. Even for me I felt a little short changed by the offer.
If you go here, make sure you are very hungry and don't bother with the salad at the start, it just pre fills you and then you can't eat as much of the meat as required to get some value.
I went on a recommendation, but a little disappointed.
The service was good though.
