Chuck's Steak House and Margaritagrill Ratings and Reviews
Horrible! My 6 yo discovered a wing nut!! In her pasta! How did that get there? Manager did not know. Poor waitress was lovely and none of this her fault, but we lost our appetite and won’t be back. They did comp us a few entrees but it was a horrifying experience.
Met an old friend here who was traveling through town. Food was good. Service was good. Becky was attentive and the new person was trying very hard and doing a great job as well. My only "issue" was that we were seating facing a window to the parking lot. the window was filthy and the light from the parking lot was shining directly into my eyes. I had to keep adjusting myself so that my friend's head obscured the light. I would suggest keeping the windows clean and possibly cover them at night to obscure the light.
First time at Chucks and was very impressed with the Jazz band, food, service and ambiance. The menu had many options and good drinks and with Open Table, NO WAIT! I would definitely recommend Chucks along with Open Table to anyone looking for reservations to a great restraunt.
Seated on time with our open table app reservation. While a little pricey, the steaks were very, very good. Waitress was most attentive. Thankfully, we were seated at other end of section where we were still subjected to constant cries of a baby whose parents obviously thought nothing of it throughout the entire length of their stay. Felt bad for the people trying to have dinner at the adjacent tables. Overall, we had a very nice dinner here and would go back again.
This was a get-together with cousins we had not seen for several years so there was a lot of catching up to do. Our waitress was great and the food was delicious - sirloin tips, baked stuffed haddock and prime rib - the grilled vegetables were especially good.
Unfortunately, a young family with a 3 yr old and a very small infant were seated near us - the baby cried continually and the 3 yr old was fussing most of the time - hard to visit over the noise!
We like Chucks, but this time, it was so off. There were 4 of us, our drinks all came at different times, asked for a lime with a beer, didn't get the first time beer was order, did not come when requested a lime again the 2nd time when another beer was ordered. I don't know if I can say it was totally the waitresses fault, the bar was empty too, so not sure why the difficulty in getting a lime with your beer. We ordered mussels as an appetizer. They were good, but there were 7 at the bottom that didn't open. I don't know about you, but if they don't open, we don't eat them. That was a lot of waste in my opinion. Fillet, was the smallest, flattest fillet I have ever seen. Broiled scallops were $20.95 and doesn't come with any sides? Was a small handful of bay scallops, with some crumbs on top. When the dish came just with the scallops, I asked about sides with it, waitress say no, "its like an appetizer, you don't get any" wow really????? It was on the entrée menu. Each entrée was brought out at different times, so of course we all waited to start eating together, so that took awhile. $187 without tip, was a lot in my opinion for what we got. Rack of ribs were good, Cajun prime was good too. 3 of us had loaded mashed, and all agreed something was off with the flavor. All 4 of us said how disappointed we were. Just overall, too many little things added up to a big disappointment.
The food was good, as was the service. They mixed up the dinners and took them back to fix them....instead of changing both plates and correcting their mistake, they just slid 1 steak off the plate onto another and left a big sloppy smear mark on the plate, and sent it back out that way.....for a hundred dollar meal, that was unacceptable. Not the first time careless and offensive mistakes were made, we'll think twice before returning for such sloppiness
My husband and I stopped here while traveling during vacation. The atmosphere is unique with numerous books on shelves lining the walls- loved it! A burrito was very generous in size and tasty. I had the salad bar which was fresh and came with french onion soup and a side. Our waitress, Nicole was terrific. Very pleasant and attentive. Good place to stop if traveling through Auburn, MA.
We love and enjoy chucks every time we go. But this time it was by far the worst service, and food we have gotten.
It could have been because of being mother's day and busy and all but no excuse. 1st the wine we had order was no longer available instead of coming and ask if we liked something else the server automatically brought something different.
My husband order a rib eye steak rare.and it was medium done. After that not once did out server came and asked everything was ok.
Like I've said. We love going to chucks and the service is always good. But It will be a while for us to go back. They need to better train the staff members.
It was superb diner for myself & Darlene, my wife. Darlene had 16 oz. Prime Rib & I had a 20 oz. end cut Prime Rib. Darlene wanted hers MR & it was. I asked for my end cut to be as rare as possible, it was MR. The meat was very tender & allowing a small amount fat in some of the pieces was very gratifying.
So so for the prices. Went for Mother's Day wouldn't let my husband and I sit at a table we had reservations for until the "rest of the party" showed up - 2 people (my parents who were running behind schedule). Place was 1/2 empty. Made the lunch start off lousy, and not much made up for it. Go somewhere else.
We visited Chuck's on Cinco de Mayo so this was probably a bit atypical. Service was slow. The margaritas were good, but we've had better. We just ordered nachos and chicken wings special and chips/salsa, so didn't give the full menu a fair chance. The chicken wings were mediocre and the chips were boring, salsa was very spicy (with no mild option according to our server). Perhaps service would have been better on a different night other than Cinco de Mayo.
We went for Easter brunch and it was horrible. The room was dark, there was only 1 waitress for the whole room, there wasn't a decent selection of food, and you ALWAYS had to ask if they were filling something up or if they had hot food because the food was cold. They didn't have enough dishes, which we always had to ask if they had any clean dishes. They had 1 lunch meat which was roast beef; 1 salad type, no selection of breads/rolls, it was just horrible. All of this for $26.95......anyone that ate there got ripped off! Never again and I pray that anyone looking at this never goes there either. It wasn't a brunch, it was cold waffles and scrambled eggs with a couple of "lunch" products thrown in.
I hadn't been to Chuck's/Margaritagrill probably since it had changed years prior. I went with my Mom, Dad and my 2 yr old son. Our reservation was for 6:15, they got us in a few mins early which was great, but that was probably the only thing that was.
Once seated, my son started to get a bit fussy as it was close to dinner time and he was hungry. I took him to the VERY underwhelming salad bar to grab a few things to munch on before our meals came. Mind you, there was a section for bread, that you had to cut yourself...how many people touched that before I did? I don't mind cutting my own, but gross! Also, the table that was next to us was served frozen food (meat), it was taken back to the kitchen, then it returned raw. WHAT?! My son finally calmed down a bit, we all ate a very disappointing supper and then he became fussy again. There were a few tables around us that expressed, "That's what they do!" or "Two-year-olds will be two-year-olds." Their understanding was extremely appreciated, as this can be stressful and anxiety provoking for some mothers, as it is for me.
We decided that maybe some ice cream would cheer him up and waited a good 10 minutes after our plates had been cleared for our waitress (I think her name was Amanda?) to come back, only to find she had prepared our bill WITHOUT asking us for dessert. Now, I'm honestly not sure what her reasoning was for doing this, but I figured maybe they'd stopped serving dessert. As I left, I asked the hostess if they served dessert in which she cheerfully replied, "Oh, yea...do you want to see the dessert menu?" I told her no and that our waitress did not offer the dessert menu. I can't decide if our waitress was just trying to get rid of us because of my fussy two-year-old son or if she really just didn't remember to offer us dessert.
Either way, a VERY disappointing experience and I don't think me or my family will be returning.
We were celebrating the end of a very successful "open window" period for an unannounced audit at my work, and we achieved a 97 score! Our server was Jen, and she was magnificent!!! She was very attentive and personable, and took very good care of us. We have had several dining experiences at Chucks, and the service more often than not, makes or brakes the experience. Jen definitively made this experience! The dinners we ordered were cooked to temperature as expected, and the appetizer was enjoyable as well. We did not partake in the salad bar during this visit, but the onion soup is not to be missed, best in the area, and the salad selections are just as awesome! I would definitively recommend Chucks to family & friends.
Restaurant was relatively empty on a Saturday evening, but service was really slow, drinks took almost an hour to arrive. Even the food, after additional delay, cold after it finally arrived. The waitress blamed their new computer system for their issues. The restaurant is beautiful and the books throughout it add to the experience. However, I'll never go back until they fix their issues.
My wife and I have eaten at Chuck's many times before. We have never had an issue with their one of a kind meals and exceptional service. Although it was sad to see there 'Chicken Parmesan' offer on their menu disappear, there are many other tasty choices to choose from. This specific night my wife ordered the 'Chicken Carbonara' while I ordered my usual Meatloaf dinner with mushroom, onion and gravy with mashed potatoes. Of course my wife could not finish hers but she had plenty for lunch the next day. The chicken was cooked perfectly and both meals presented without flaw. From the time we stepped into the building to the time we walked out we were taken care of without complaint. The meals were over the top delicious and cooked in a record time. The salad, soup and bread bar has much to offer and you get so much for the small price. The chefs and waitresses/waiters at this establishment take pride in serving their customers and you can sense that from all they do to make sure your dining experience is nothing short of amazing. The ambience in the building is friendly and accommodating to all types of people due to the way the seating is set up. This is a must visit location if you are in the area.
A friend and I recently dined (2/24/17) at the Auburn Chuck's Steak House. We enjoyed the pleasant casual atmosphere, a great salad bar and very good steaks. I haven't been there in about 10 years but they seem to have retained most of the amenities and services that I fondly recall. This is not a top-end steak house to impress your best clients but it has a very comfortable and welcoming ambiance that seems to suit a great range of friends, dates, and families. I would recommend it highly for a relaxed and good value meal.
Worst service ever took 1/2 hour to even get a waiter to bring us a drink. Hostess saw us sitting there and never even asked if someone was helping us. Drinks finally came and were wrong because tap wasn't working. Had them bring bill for drinks and were charged for drinks we didn't get. Left money on table and went to Pub 99 to actually enjoy dinner. Will never go back
I had went here with my fiancé for Valentines day because she has wanted to try it out. I asked for a romantic table and they gave us a room that was in a separate area all by itself which was nice to have the quite dinner together. The prices were great! Got a bottle of prusecco, appetizer and 2 fillets stuffed with lobster meat (a lot of meat for the $$!!) and the total was $98 + tip... So it worked out great! Oh and the $50 open table coupon helped too :) - Thanks open table!!!!
I went here with my adult children. Top notch service and great food !!! The prime rib is to die for !!! The server was helpfull with suggestions but not overly pushy. The arival of the entres was prompt. Delicious apps and deserts as well. Overall a great place.
I love the relaxed feel of this place – like a comfortable dining room in a friends home. I definitely would return to try more dishes. The steak tips were amazing and the salad / soup, potato bar looks delicious. The table was nice and private for fun conversation. The waitress as very accommodating with separate checks.
We hadn't been to Chucks in sometime and I have to say it has gone completely downhill. We decided to book our table on Open Table and the purpose of Open Table is so you can get right in within a reasonable time. When we arrived, it was completely disorganized and had to remind the host staff 3x that we had a reservation as they were seating people that had come in after us. We waiting 20 minutes until we were finally seated. Once seated, service was mediocre and food was awful compared to the quality it used to be. This was disappointing considering the amount the bill came to. Once the bill was paid, our waitress dropped our bill, but forgot to include the credit card itself and we had to chase her down. We will not be going again unless they bring the standard back up and wouldn't recommend to others.
