Chuck's Steak House and Margaritagrill
Came away disappointed this time from Chuck's. Treated very well by host and server, but spouse''s steak was way undercooked (as was the woman's at the table next to ours), so she decided not to send it back so she would not have to wait. They are now charging $5.95 for their salad bar as part of the meal, but the salad bar isn't all that to begin with. Server Jim was attentive, but we have had him before and he seemed to be having an off night. Lobster Mac'n'Cheese as a "family side" was overpriced at $21.95...just enough for three of us, but if we had brought our other big eater son there would not have been more than a few spoonfuls for each.
Ordered the small sirloin medium rare... It came out still with a pulse, sent back, came out rare... Had I ordered it medium well it might have come out medium rare. Tasty though it took a while to get it edible. Awesome salad/soup bar w/ bread. Definitely would try again. Diverse menu. Bartenders are a jolly bunch!
NYE. The attendant in our section was on top of things if not a bit overwhelmed with the volume of a continually filled section. This was my first time and was pleasantly surprised by the locals and the appearance of the restaurant. A true neighborhood gem. Food was excellent. Will note the baked sweet potato was a tiny nugget, but the main courses varying from New York strip to salmon were well seasoned and cooked perfect to order. Deserts were tasty too. Definitely looking forward to going back.
Our favourite spot to meet 1/2 with friends from central MA.
We’ve gone many times but it was exceptional this week
I brought a group of clients for a holiday dinner. The service was outstanding, the food very well prepared and seasoned, and the salad bar appeared very fresh and it was delicious. I would definitely return.
Our server Jasmine was very friendly and attentive. We enjoyed the soup and salad bar along with fresh bread. It was our first visit but definitely not our last. My wife liked looking through a large row of books.
Keep up the great work
Everything was excellent
I love going there the nights the Cosby Sweaters play. It's always a fun night. Food is great and it's always a very great atmosphere
Dinner with two other couples for a birthday celebration was spectacular. Prime rib was melt in your mouth perfect. Everyone enjoyed their meal, apps and drinks. Will be back soon.
terrific environment, warm wooden balls, line with hundreds of books--big sturdy tables---amazing salad bar and soup comes with each meal--wide selection--very, very well prepared food. everyone there we saw, from hostess who sat us to kid who refilled salad bar to waitress---all took pride in the place
Great food & service. 6 in our party & everyone enjoyed their meals.
The prime rib was tough. One came swimming in juice. The salad bar is expensive with an entree. The asparagus side had 6 very thin pieces for $4.00.
Good dining experience with my dad. Place was quiet, kitchen was a bit noisy but service was pleasant and efficient. It’s aged since we have been there and prices are a bit high. I wish salad bar was included in the price but is extra @ 5.95 per entree.
Very disappointed that meals only come with starch (potato - no rice option) and what had been an included salad bar it is now an almost $7 al la carte option.
I took my sister here for her birthday as it is her favorite restaurant, and for very good reason. My only criticism is that it is really too dimly lit. I needed to turn my iPhone's LED light on to read the menu.
Probably haven't been here in 15+ years. We came to try the Mexican food. We started with a couple of margaritas (and for a place named Margaritagrill we expected them to be good). The margaritas were very sour and very strong. Then we ordered their buffalo chicken nachos. They were very delicious, real chicken on them. I just wish there was something else on them too other than the chicken and cheese, maybe jalapenos. But nevertheless they were yummy. Then we both ordered the ORIGINAL burrito. It was fresh, delicious, generous portion. If we could have eaten the whole thing, we would have. We left feeling very full and like we might stop by again. Service was great. Our waitress was pleasant and we were never looking for her. She came by with extra napkins and sour cream when we didn't even have to ask.
It was a pre-graduation for my grandson. Others at my tabled liked the food. I did not.
Very disappointed with the food. We all ordered the prime rib special which was fatty with mashed potatoes both had no flavor, and lacked seasoning. The salad bar was included with the dinner years ago and now charges an additional $5.99 . The tomato soup had no flavor and the addition of salt that I added didn't help. The blue cheese and thousand island salad dressings were lacking flavor. We were there at 4:30 when they opened and the bread on the salad bar did not appear to be fresh but dried out.
The only good part about the meal was the attentive/ courteous service by our waitress who was available as needed.
My date said the prime rib ("roll back" special) was a great deal. Cooked as ordered and a good cut. I had the Seafood cakes and they were great too. Lots of seafood without too much breading- just the right balance. We didn't opt for the salad bar at $6, but would have liked to have had the option to order one regular size "house" salad and/or vegetable to have with our meal vs just a the main item and potato. If a side salad for about $3-4 was on the menu we would have ordered it. We didn't want an "all you can eat" bar. We also didn't want the bread or soup with our meal (too much food).
Our waitress was great; very efficient. (Unfortunately I don't recall her name now.)
Our dinner with friends was most disappointing. A large party with a baby was seated next to us as our dinner arrived. The baby screamed throughout our dinner. We told our server who apologized and left to serve other tables. When she came back to our area, I asked to speak to the manager outside of the area while the mother of the child began raising her voice that someone would be complaining about her screaming child. When we spoke, the first words out of the manager’s mouth to me was would I like a gift certificate. I explained that was not looking for a free meal and did not accept his offer. When I asked the hostess if she knew of a place nearby where we could get coffee and dessert, the manager began naming places that we could travel to. A savvy manager might have suggested that we be re-seated to a quiet area and that they would pick up dessert. Instead, it became very clear that he wanted to keep the table of 10 and let our table of four walk out. No one representing the restaurant offered assistance to their patrons nor the mother of the baby until I complained. When a good restaurant has poor management, it’s time to look elsewhere.
This place was great ill be back in the fiture i would recommed this place to my frienda and family i really enjoyef my night out wirh my boyfriend we went to celebraye our one year annivwesy the price was great the food nice waitrrss vwry friendly we wete tteated like we wete a regular customers
We love Chuck’s. Always a great time. Food is excellent ( yum yum yum yum yum). Always cooked perfectly. Staff is awesome. Atmosphere can’t be beat. Go to Chuck’s! You won’t be disappointed.
Mother’s Day Brunch
Overall everything was very good. Noise level from nearby table was distracting, but not the restaurants fault. Smoke does come in from the kitchen in the area we were seated, but not a big problem. Steaks/Ribs are always prepared very nicely. Salad bar is a plus, so you will not go hungry here unless it is your own fault. Our server Jim did an outstanding job of being attentive, and explaining everything needed. Only problem was on Open Table end, as I received email stating that I had not shown up for reservation. After I called Chuck's later that night, the manager took care of the issue and also noticed that half of the reservations from OT had not gone through properly. This happened earlier in the day from another restaurant, so it was not Chuck's issue.
We went out for a 75th party. Wait staff and host were very nice. Food wasn’t the best. $17.99 for 4-5 small steak tips that had absolutely no taste and a small amount of potatoes is highway robbery. If you want bread you need to pay an additional $5.95 for the salad bar. Four to five people got the steak tips and we all said never again. Burger was decent. Overall very overpriced for what we got. Don’t mind paying $ if food is good. Used to be much better. May I suggest adding a 6oz steak? Wasn’t very busy on a Sunday at 5:30 pm. Will probably never go back. All other guests agreed. Also needs updating.
Awesome food and service.
So delicious that you will remember that prime cut of beef long after the experience, and it will make you want to go back again and again.
Great service and great food. The band that played there though could use some music lessons
We met friends for dinner at Chuck's. We were given a nice table in a secluded area. Our waitress was outstanding. The food was delicious and we always love the salad bar. It was a great evening.
Had a noisy location after requesting a quiet one. Orders included fish tacos and beef dishes both of which were above average to good taste. Waiter was very accommodating and likable. the service was a bit slow.
This was a Valentine's Day meal. I was pleasantly surprised to find that there was the ability to order from the regular menu. So many places have limited menus on Valentine's Day. We both started with a frozen strawberry Margarita which was great. We had the shrimp cocktail which was delicious but a bit pricey at 12.95 for four giant shrimp, but very good. We also each ordered the same meal which was a full rack of ribs and a loaded baked potato. Ribs were done perfectly and came slathered with a very complimentary bbq sauce that did not overpower the moist and tender ribs. Full Rack was only three dollars more than a half rack so we opted for a planned take home box and ordered the full rack. Getting a dinner and leftovers for the 21 dollars cost proved to be a great value. Overall the food was great until dessert. We shared an order of mini churros which appeared to be re-heated and did not seem freshly made. Only other minor complaint was an incredibly loud speaker mounted on the wall above our table announcing when tables were ready. Apart from the lacklustre dessert and announcements, we found everything else to be very good and we would go back again. Our server was terrific.
One of my favorite restaurants. Always a great meal and great service.
We've been going to Chuck's Restaurant for over thirty years and the food, service & atmosphere have never disappointed. We'd recommend it to anyone looking for a great dining experience.
Good food and great service, made for a nice night out.
I recommended Chuck's to my brothers & a friend after a day of skiing. We each ordered a steak - Rib Eye, Filet tips, Sliced Sirloin & Prime Rib and we all loved our meals. Add a decent salad bar, tasty draft beers & desserts, and we were more than satisfied. We look forward to returning after our next ski trip!
Our prime rib was absolutely perfect. It was cooked just as we requested. Our server was very professional and friendly.
Loved our visit there..had a nice quiet room.
Very good service, fair prices for good food. Wide variety of dishes.
Horrible! My 6 yo discovered a wing nut!! In her pasta! How did that get there? Manager did not know. Poor waitress was lovely and none of this her fault, but we lost our appetite and won’t be back. They did comp us a few entrees but it was a horrifying experience.
We found this restaurant via Open Table and we're so thankful! It's tucked away in the neighborhood and I've probably driven by it without seeing it. What a pleasurable and relaxing dinner after running errands all day! We were immediately seated, service was swift and the food was outstanding! We will definitely return!
