About Christy Hill
A memorable dining experience awaits you as you enter the Christy Hill Restaurant in the center of Tahoe City. The restaurant sits just 100 feet above the shoreline of Lake Tahoe on an elevated embankment offering diners a panoramic vista. The intimate setting offers guests a view that is only upstaged by the cuisine. Spectacular sunsets that can be seen from every table is just one of the many reasons that Christy Hill was voted "Most Romantic Restaurant" by the San Francisco Chronicle.

Christy Hill Ratings and Reviews
I love this restaurant. Like most resort towns, a lot of the food is mediocre and overpriced. While the menu isn't cheap the food and wine is worth it. The service is also consistent and professional. Lastly, you can't beat the view. This is old school comfort food - which is perfect for the ambiance.
The service was extremely slow and the friendliness of the staff was obligatory . The Dungeness crab small plate was served and I was immediately hit with a very fishy smell. When I let the waiter know very politely he carefully chose his words by saying "your not enjoying it then ?" The appropriate response would of been I am sorry can I get you something else. In the end, he did take it off our bill without us asking. Who would enjoy stinky crab that the table next to us could smell? The main entrees were way over salted which is the sign of a weak chef. With that being said, I was so hungry and thought the main entrees were good enough. The service was painful slow that dessert was not an option. I would expect more for the prices being charged for this restaurant. Maybe we caught them on a really off night but I won't be going back.
Love this place, but this time it didn't hit the high marks we usually give it. I always get the pan roasted gnocchi as an appetizer. It needed more salt and more broth. I had to request bread and butter, which I love to sop-up the broth with. The bib lettuce salad was a good start too. My sweetie got the branzino fish, lovely preparation and flavor. It hit the mark. On the recommendation from the waiter (between two chicken dishes) I go the apricot braised chicken. It was a new dish to me and I love trying new things. It sounded great with the apricot and pasta. The pasta was cooked al-dente, which is what I love, but the flavor fell short, it wasn't sweet, or salty or peppery or spicy. It was bland! Oh well, guess it was an off night, but we still love this place and we'll definitely come back. I'll ask for salt at the table, just in case.
Beautiful view!! It’s one of the nicer places in Tahoe city. Food is a little pricey for what it is. I had the gnocchi it was ok, I prefer mine lighter and theirs are huge and doughy. My mom had the dinner portion of scallops which were only 3, we were confused as to how many you would get for the small plate portion and the veggies it can with were shredded (which was not expected). We had the chocolate croissant bread pudding and the spice cake which were delicious. The staff was very nice, overall a good experience!
The owner, Robin (sp?), was very accommodating to let us add 2 people to our reservation on the same day during peak season. We had wonderful scallop appetizers, and each of us had fabulous main courses that left us raving about the food. Our personable server (wish I could remember his name!) was the perfect balance of attentive, yet gave us space to enjoy our experience and conversation. There was background music, but it was soft so you didn’t have to talk loudly over it. Oh, and the sweeping lakefront views are spectacular, although it was very dark during this particular visit.
Went for my daughter's 19th bday. Unfortunately, the entire experience was absolutely poisoned by the attitude, arrogance and bad service of a waiter who needs to find a therapist's couch. The food is quite good, the ambience very cozy, but I will NEVER go back to this restaurant until they fire the waiter with the bald head and thick framed glasses. We left feeling sour and upset and angry that we dropped upwards of $250 to be disdained by this supercilious creep.
It's expensive, but well worth it. We are not in the Tahoe area often, but when my wife and I visited recently for a relaxing trip, we knew we had to eat at Christy Hill one night. It is reliably excellent in the service and the food, and we both had a delicious meal. I recommend this restaurant without reservation, especially for any kind of a special occasion.
We celebrated our 30th Anniversary and enjoyed fabulous food and service at Christy Hill. Our waiter, Charles, was very attentive. He gave us a complimentary dessert to recognize the occasion...as they did for all the folks celebrating birthdays that night too. We didn't get to enjoy the ambiance until the rather loud and boisterous group seated next to us finally left....but after that, it was a wonderfully romantic evening. I highly recommend Christy Hill restaurant as the destination for any special occasion. Lakeside dining at its best!!
Simply the best in north Tahoe.....consistently excellent and we eat there a fair amount....very creative. For instance, Hamachi always on apps list, but every time we go prepared totally different....many things likewise.....always a treat. Wonderful for special occasions....
Christy Hill is our favorite place to dine in the North Lake Tahoe area. The food is always really great and the service cannot be beat. We usually dine there at least two times on every visit that we make to North Lake Tahoe and we get there about two times per year from the Bay Area.
