Overall the restaurant was very good. The ambience is nice, the food creative, although a bit overpriced ($34 for a pork chop, even a double chop, with virtually no accompaniment is steep), the appetizers were outstanding, and the wine list is pretty comprehensive with a variety of prices and vintages. My concern was with the service. Our server was helpful and friendly, if a bit perfunctory, but there were several glitches that shouldn't occur in a more upscale restaurant. We were not offered bread and olive oil, which we noticed on several other tables. When we requested a table along the railing so as to better appreciate the view, we were told the tables were being held for parties of four. Two of the 4 tables had parties of two, and one of the vacant tables I requested was empty for nearly an hour and then a party of two was seated there.
We've been coming to Christy Hill for years. Best restaurant in Tahoe - Hands Down!
Nice ambiance, decent food, way over priced. Corkage fee is $35 and no forewarning.
Amazing views, delicious, fresh food and first rate service. . . had a wonderful anniversary dinner with my honey.
Absolutely fabulous food and a stellar view of beautiful Lake Tahoe.
We try to eat at Christy Hill each time we come to Tahoe, which is often! Food is always seasonal and excellent, service is outstanding, they have a nice wine list, and the setting is amazing!
One of our favorite restaurants anywhere! Food is consistently outstanding, service excellent and super friendly and nothing comes close to the view! We love it!
Traveled to Tahoe from out of town to celebrate my girlfriend's birthday. Had a wonderful experience at Christy Hill.
What a treat as usual, Chef Andrew Shimer, JB, and the service staff are just, very simply, "On Point". Everything from introductions and seating, sophisticated table-side attention by the entire staff, and of course, Chef Shimer's fabulous culinary interpretations rank amongst the very best. The range Chef Shimer offers from meats, to seafood, to Vegan brings everone's favorites to the table. The wine selections are really quite impressive. The ambiance lakeside is scenic, and charming. The venue is warm, mildly rustic, and well preserved. Elegance in it's charm makes one feel right at home. The scenery is beyond amazing with Lake Tahoe's mountains surrounding you, and the lake front's lighting at dusk, so beautiful. Accessibility to this lake front gem is right off the main road, and parking is sufficient.
Great atmosphere, beautiful setting, and delicious food made for a wonderful dinner.
Service is attentive without being intrusive. Menu is carefully varied--I felt as though I could have ordered nearly anything and been satisfied. Wine list is of moderate size, but well selected. I would not change anything. Great place for celebrations (anniversary in our case).
What a wonderful experience. Food was great , service the best and a million dollar view. These Texans were very impressed by Christie Hill .
Very disappointed in all senses. Especially with a rude waitress who was clearly discriminating against me and my family. She should never be working in the hospitality industry. I do not recommend you taking any person of your family or a friend who has any type of disability. This restaurant is not prepared and not trained to serve in a compassionate and unbiased way. One day someone will file a law suit against them. - The American Disability Act prohibits discrimination against any person with special needs. Cold, heartless, inhumane and cruel treatment for those with special needs.
Great atmosphere and service. Very good food. Menu hasn’t changed much over the last few years. Now offering small plates.
We had a wonderful dinner at Christy Hill’s restaurant.
We were seated on the outdoor patio which I highly recommend if the weather permits.
Items we ordered were all excellent - Grilled Octopus appetizer, Bib salad, Gnocchi with duck confit, fettuccine and chocolate dessert.
Service was excellent as well.
Dinner at Christy Hill’s was the best we had while in Tahoe!
Terrific food, always new entrees, great wines, great service
Awesome meal and service. The country Pate melt was so unusual and delicious. Scallops were a flavor explosion and perfectly cooked. Our favorite North Shore restaurant by a large margin
Great location, somewhat limited menu but excellent quality. Waiter very attentive. Enjoyable environment. Tables not conducive to intimate conversations. Still a great place for dining.
Good food and personable service. The view can't be beat!
Great as always!!!
It was awesome! JB was great!
The occasion was our 49th wedding anniversary. We hadn't been to Christy Hill for maybe 3-4 years. It is very high end pricing but most enjoyable. My wife had the scallops and they were outstanding! I the Rib Eye and was disappointed (good but not $55 good). They did provide a complimentary desert based upon the occasion. Also, I had forgotten that they do not have full bar service, just beer and wine. A bit of a disappointment.
We sat outside on the upper patio and had a lovely dinner.
This is the most delightful restaurant that you can imagine. The food, service, and view is amazing. We always feel very valued as customer and are attended to with great warmth all , of these qualities makes us return time after time.
Romantic, incredible view, great service, great wine selection and the best food in Tahoe City.
Great service and food! They were very accommodating in allowing us to choose where we sat to have a good view of the lake. The ambiance was very nice as well.
The views are gorgeous but, unfortunately, the food does not match. I ordered the lamb and my wife had gnocchi. The lamb had so much seasoning that I couldn't taste the flavor of the meat. The seasoning should compliment the flavor of the lamb, not overpower it. My wife enjoyed the gnocchi. The portion size for both dishes were small, but the prices are not.
Always amazing food, ambiance and service!!
Very comfortable... not rushed... food was prepared exactly the way we wanted. Service was prompt and courteous.
We were disappointed with our meal at Christy Hill. I ordered the scallop entree, which was excellent. However, my husband ordered the lamb, which was chewy and salty. In addition, we don't usually order starters because an entree is all we can eat. However, after eating these entrees, we were still hungry. The items listed on the menu with the entrees aren't sides, they are garnishes. We didn't want order more and spend more, so after spending $65 for food for two, not including drinks, we went back to our bungalow and made avocado toast.
Every time we eat at Christy Hill it’s a super delicious and romantic experience. The panoramic view of Lake Tahoe is the best and now with the warm weather you can dine on their patio. From first taste of appetizers, through entrees and desserts you’d be hard pressed to find a better fine dinning experience anywhere! The wait staff was courteous and super efficient. This is a place you want to linger and savory and come back again and again
Great lakeside dining. Ask for a table next to the window. All the meals I have had here have been delicious...very consistent. A Tahoe gem.
Best food I have had in awhile and I dine in Wine country often.
Food even more so!
Wonderful evening. The food was amazing!!! Loved the black cod.
Some of the most delicious food we've ever had. Service was great & the staff went over & above to make our 50th anniversary memorable
The best in tahoe
Very exceptional birthday experience. Got to watch lightening over the mountains while enjoying delicious courses. Will certainly go back (even without a special occasion)
We have dined here many times over the last 20 years, and we're never disappointed. It would be nice if they could get a full liquor license, as wines can give me a headache, but we go here for the food, not the beverages.
World class views, service and food. This is such a gem and we highly recommend it.
Dinner was excellent! We had the scallops/ravioli dinner plater and the morrocan lamb which were both very flavorful and delicious. The wait staff was very attentive and helpful with food/wine suggestions. It was a great place to celebrate our anniversary!
