We are so sorry you’re going to close eyes are we had a wonderful evening
Great spot. Sorry to hear they are closing
This restaurant is very noisy. Worse with a loud table next to us. The food is ok. My husband enjoyed the special more than me. Halibut rolled over lobster. Clam chowder was good. Not dine here for quiet conversation. Good server. Greeted by owner’s wife/hostess? Heard from a local that Christopher’s will close soon.
We are going to miss this restaurant sooooo much. The night's special, sole stuffed with crab, was best fish dish I've ever had. My husband had the filet and said it was outstanding. Our friends - four of them - also raved. The closing of Christopher's is a real loss to our culinary community!
Restaurant is closing 3/31/18. This was unbeknownst to us. Items on the menu were no longer available. Ordered a Hendricks and tonic. Restaurant was out of this gin and served another gin without informing me.
Stay away from this place! The staff was rude and after being seated and waiting 15 minutes to be acknowledged, we walked out!
When ever we are in Carmel we try to have dinner at Christopher’s. Drinks, Dinner, Service Great!
We had a wonderful dinner. The food was perfectly prepared and the service was exceptional.
Great restaurant. Many choices. Everything we ordered was delicious.
Also great options for half our group who were vegetarian. Created veg option that was off menu. Friendly service. Will visit again soon! One of my local favorites.
Christopher's on Lincoln Ave in Carmel-by-the-Sea is our go-to place for a great foodie and ambiance experience! We highly recommend it to all our friends.
We were very impressed with Lincoln’s and surprised there weren’t more people there. Well appointed with cozy tables, wonderful service and some unusual menu choices. It was our anniversary and we had our bride and groom champagne glasses (one of our traditions) and they were gracious about using them for our cocktail.
This is the third time I have dined at Christopher's on Second. Each time has been outstanding. Highly recommend it!
Outstanding food, service & ambiance. We enjoy dinner at Christopher's every time we visit Carmel.
fabulous , quite place with great food and terrific service
This is our favorite restaurant in Carmel. Beautiful dining area. The service is outstanding.
Our server was friendly and very efficient. The food, as usual was delicious. My wife had the salmon, and I enjoyed the swordfish.
Food was great, as usual, but the service was. It so great. Restaurant was not full and there was only one large table of 7, so not sure why we were overlooked. We had to pour our own wine the entire dinner.
Second time we ate at Christopher's and will continue to go back. Excellent prices for the
food and service which were both 5 star. My wife had the short ribs and I had the fish special,
both were outstanding. They pour the wine at the table and they are very generous. Ambience
and service were first class. Highly recommend and will go back when we are in town again.
The service was impeccable. The chef recreated a meal that was no longer on the menu but that I had enjoyed in the past. Very charming little restaurant with friendly staff!
Christopher’s never disappoints! It’s a favorite classy restaurant of ours.
Creative and very reasonable menu, great service, nice selection of wines and friendly waitstaff. The lamb and swordfish are very tasty. Have never had less than an excellent meal here.
New Years Eve
This is a quiet, elegant restaurant with excellent service and great food. As with all restaurants in Carmel, it is not cheap but you do get great value for your money. We have celebrated two anniversaries there and will probably do the same next year!
A lovely place to relax!
Not only did we love our meal at Christopher’s, but everyone, from the owner who greeted us, to all the waitstaff, were pleasant & glad to see/serve us. This was my first time here & I will definitely be back.
There is no parking near the restaurant. Either walk or take a taxi there.
Christmas Dinner -We frequent Carmel a couple of times per year and this was the second time we have been to Christopher’s. Service is always great though we were given a table by the door which gave a lot of foot traffic. Food was good but the menu seemed limited compared to last year.
3 hungry travelers had a delightful Christmas Day dinner here.
Food was delicious, good service
We very much enjoyed the cocktails and the dessert and selection of ports. I was less happy with my entree, but I think that had more to do with my choice. It was prepared well, but just not what I should have ordered.
Love this restaurant. My husband is a great cook, so it is always hard for him to have a meal he feels he couldn’t do better. But he is always very impressed here.
You never disappoint!
The food was excellent along with the service. For a long time we wanted to try this restaurant and we were very happy with our total experience. We will definitely be back!
We were looking forward to a lovely meal, but I have to say it was the worst meal we have had out in a restaurant in years. We ordered the evening special linguine with seafood. The waiter said it would be in a lite broth, but it was nothing but water. Absolutely NO flavor at all. They put a little pesto in the water. Ugh, I couldn’t believe a chef would let this dish out of the kitchen.
The seafood was so over cooked with no flavor. I asked the waitress for more pesto, I tasted the pesto and it had no flavor at all, but I added it to the dish desperate for flavor of some kind.
I started adding olive oil lots of salt and pepper and asked for pepper flakes hopping for a little flavor besides water. It was a disaster, we should have sent it back.
We started with a Caesar salad my grandkids could have made.....again, no flavor just cut up tiny pieces of romaine lettuce and tiny croutons. For $10.00 it was a joke.
Two thumbs down for this place, trust me you can do much better at so many other wonderful
In Carmel. Don’t waste your money here. Never again, unless the chef tastes his food first.
What a shame.
Enjoyed a nice but not extraordinary dinner here. Server was very efficient and everything was well presented. I had a nice tequila and lime cured salmon starter but was disappointed with the duck main which had a very watery and largely flavourless cherry and brandy gravy. More flavour would have been good to match the duck which was perfectly cooked. Ambience was nice.
We’ve been going to Christopher’s for 15 years & love it every time we go!! Amazing restaurant
Our first visit to Christophers, but we will definitely be back. Recommended to us by friends who also visit Carmel BTS frequently. Loved the food, the ambiance, the location and Taylor took great care of us.
An off the beaten track gem!
We are locals and Christopher's is one of our favorite restaurants - in a town that has MANY options. The food was wonderful and the service was terrific - very attentive but not smothering. We are so lucky to have such an excellent restaurant available to us.
Loved everything about this restaurant. The food artwork
Waiters where are great! Will comeback. Try the fried green tomatoes, so. Good.
Christopher's is our favorite restaurant in Carmel. It is tucked away on a quiet street just off Ocean Avenue. The two tiered dining room is beautiful. The service is always outstanding. Servers are friendly, and very efficient. The food is excellent. Varied choices on the menu, and the food is always delicious.
The main problems with this places was the service as it was spotty and a bit slow. Also got asked how the food was too many times. Additionally, the owner, who was dressed in chefs whites was hovering about the restaurant. If he is part of the kitchen crew as his dress would indicate, why was he out on the floor. His hovering was very weird. He should either stay in the kitchen or dress like rest of the floor staff.
Wonderful evening!
Service was very good and attentive. Seemed to have limited liquor options and wine list was a little odd. Food was ok but nothing special. Kind of bland and basic. Probably won't go back again.
