Our first visit to Christophers, but we will definitely be back. Recommended to us by friends who also visit Carmel BTS frequently. Loved the food, the ambiance, the location and Taylor took great care of us.

An off the beaten track gem!

We are locals and Christopher's is one of our favorite restaurants - in a town that has MANY options. The food was wonderful and the service was terrific - very attentive but not smothering. We are so lucky to have such an excellent restaurant available to us.

Christopher's is our favorite restaurant in Carmel. It is tucked away on a quiet street just off Ocean Avenue. The two tiered dining room is beautiful. The service is always outstanding. Servers are friendly, and very efficient. The food is excellent. Varied choices on the menu, and the food is always delicious.

The main problems with this places was the service as it was spotty and a bit slow. Also got asked how the food was too many times. Additionally, the owner, who was dressed in chefs whites was hovering about the restaurant. If he is part of the kitchen crew as his dress would indicate, why was he out on the floor. His hovering was very weird. He should either stay in the kitchen or dress like rest of the floor staff.

Service was very good and attentive. Seemed to have limited liquor options and wine list was a little odd. Food was ok but nothing special. Kind of bland and basic. Probably won't go back again.

Definitely a great meal off the main strip in Carmel. We were pleasantly surprised by the atmosphere. It’s a nice, quiet place where you can actually talk to each other. I mentioned on OpenTable that it was or anniversary, and they brought us champagne to celebrate right off the bat (and did not charge us for it). Great service and the food was excellent. At dessert, my wife got a Port ‘upgrade’ from 10 to 20yr because they were out of 10yr.
I’m writing a rare review for me because this place is really good and might get overlooked by the younger well off crowd like us. We also sat next to two local women-another sign this place is the real deal. We’ll be back next time in Carmel.

Food was good but does not stand out against other places I have eaten. In Carmel terms, and probably regional terms terms, prices were fair. This was a recommendation from someone local, so perhaps we started with expectations to high and, without eating at other many other restaurants in Carmel, I can not fairly compare. Ingredients were fresh and well presented. You might be best going with the dishes they are well known for (the friendly and easy going staff can advise) or the specials. Wine selection was good. Service was good but not as skilled or informed as the excellent service we received at Cultura (interesting and Californian influenced Mexican). If I was looking for a comparison this was not a patch on what I would consider my best meal out in a Californian cuisine restaurant (Palmers on Fillmore Street, San Francisco).

The food was very good and the atmosphere was wonderful. The service was a little indifferent as they seemed understaffed. I had made the note on our reservation that this was our 48th wedding anniversary which also went unnoticed by the staff. A friend recommended Christopher's to us and it's a very good restaurant but there are many good restaurants in Carmel and we want to try all of them.

I would never eat here again. The food wasn't great, both entrees came out luke warm, reheated, came out scalding & over cooked. They had an excuse for everything.

Charming restaurant on an adorable side street in a converted home nestled in the woods of Carmel. Service was excellent and they have numerous specials each evening in addition to their menu. Terrific selection of wines and recommend trying one of their house specialty cocktails.

Second time here in last few years, on annual visit to Carmel...
Great spot...minor issue with order, but otherwise very very good.
You won't be disappointed. Quiet and romantic in one of America's most
romantic towns.

The food was not well conceived.

Bland meat dish. It was tender and well cooked but just not flavorful.

A fish appetizer so salt laden it was not edible. But this was not mentioned until it was served! Inexplicable.

The room is very nice and the food is very good. Unfortunately, the noise level in the room totally negates the other good things about the food and the room. It is impossible to enjoy a meal when you almost literally cannot hear yourself think or speak. The main room has a vaulted ceiling which acts physically like an amplifier. There are numerous things which could be done to quiet the room down and make the dining experience more far more enjoyable. But the management apparently has no interest in doing so. When I mentioned the problem to the woman in charge as we left, her response was something like "I think you said the same thing the last time you were here. It's Car Week". Her attitude was basically "if you don't like it, don't come here." which of course we never will again.

My wife and I were looking for something special in Carmel, which is full of restaurants, and this was a gem. The building is a small house, nicely converted into a cozy, wonderful restaurant. The staff are very professional and efficient, and also very nice. The menu is varied, and there were enough specials that they could have used a separate menu just for them. The food was very, very good. We've eaten at a number of restaurants in Carmel, and I think this was the best for both food and atmosphere. We'll be back.

Christopher's was a nice discovery. On the spur dinner. As a local I avoid Carmel during tourist season but was glad we got a reservation at Christopher's. Food had nice personal touch that made it a little different from the ordinary. Loved the Chilli Rellanos, tuna tartar and the soft shell crab. Decent Wine List. Definitely want to come back and try some of their cocktails. Full Bar.
Meal for 2 with one glass of wine and tip around $100.

Server was great, Zenith? He knew the menu. Owners daughter was also there. Great service by both. I brought back some of their business cards back to my hotel in Monterey. Will certainly recommend them to my guests and look forward to going there again.

The atmosphere was nice and the service was very friendly. It seems to be losing its luster a bit. Wasn't very busy, which was nice but may be because there are so many places to eat and our food, while good, was not great. I had sole stuffed with seafood, it it was bland and overstuffed, and because it was served with bland mushy garlic mashed potatoes the plate was pretty white. My daughter had the BBQ short ribs though and it was delicious. My husband had the trout, which was ok but not great. Will try a new place next time.
