Christner's Prime Steak and Lobster Ratings and Reviews
My future wife and myself dined here for Valentine’s Day. We were looking for somewhere neither of us had been, and stumbled across here after reading nothing but phenomenal reviews. Andre was our server. Let me tell you, I don’t review often but this was an exceptional experience. Our server was incredibly knowledgeable and gave perfect recommendations. The food came out superb, the ambiance was flawless, and the wine list was hard to beat. For anyone looking for a romantic night out, while still feeling like you can carry on an intimate conversation, I cannot recommend this place enough.
Christners is one of a kind, and deservedly so.
Such a busy night, as expected, but everyone gets an A++, even you Dave (LOL)!
We had an exciting time watching all the people while having a great meal and service!
Staff stood tall to the task at hand. Great job to all the servers and management!
Happy Valentine's Day to all!
We were disappointed with the choices of salad dressing. When are baked potatoes came the butter had some kind of parsley in it that was not mentioned and it affected the taste of the potato in a way that did not please us. We did not like the fact that the soda was served in very small bottles which meant we were charged for each one. We did appreciate the in-house magicians and the piano player from the bar sounded good. Our steaks were decent but no better than other places we have been.
As always Christener's Prime doesn't disappoint! Great meal, fabulous service by Bobby and an outstanding evening. The drinks are well made and they pour a good glass of wine unlike many places that cut the pour short. Christner's Prime isn't cheap, but you get a premium experience for the price.
The service was outstanding and the food delicious. We had personal attention from a waiter (Luigi) who was pleasant, knowledgeable, warm, engaging, and checked on us often. Beautiful restaurant with a quiet atmosphere, music at just the right volume, and my wife’s beef Wellington was amazing as was my filet. We’ll be going back now that we’ve found this place.
As always, the filet at Christner’s cannot be beat. The lobster bisque was delicious and had several large chunks of lobster in it. The wine is fairly priced as well. I think the big surprise of the night was dessert. We don’t usually get dessert, but since our daughter was with us, we indulged. Being told it was made on premise by a pastry chef we had to try the Mandarin cake. We only ordered one piece thinking we would each get a bite or two. However, the piece of cake was HUGE!! Easily enough for more than 3 people. We were expecting this to be at least a $15 piece of cake, but at only $8, it was the bargain of the night! Funny to be raving on dessert when this is such a phenomenal steak house, but it’s not what you’d expect and a wonderful way to end the night. I do believe that Christner’s is a little out dated in their decor. Has a “men only” country club feel. It could definitely use some updating in that department, but hopefully the food never changes.
We dined at this establishment on a Saturday , early dinner 5 pm. From the time we walked in the door we new this was going to be a good experience. Our waiter Mark was OUTSTANDING !
And I truly mean that. He was so accommodating to our every need and thought . He made the whole dining experience worth coming for .
Know on to the food..... in my humble opinion, if you want a steak that MELTS in your mouth then this is the ONLY place to go . Starting with the appetizers to enjoying the last savory bite of carrot cake , our party enjoyed everything and all its flavor!!!
Yes its PRICEY but worth every penny of it!!
Thank you to all the wonderful staff at Christners for such a beautiful dinning experience.
This is a hard review for me. I have been to Christner's several times before and have always been very impressed. Not so much this time.
We arrived at 8:30 on a Thursday night and the place was dead. Well, except for the loud 8-top of business men they sat us down RIGHT NEXT TO. There were no other tables available? They then offered us a private room, which was fine but too large a table for a couple. I guess they had closed the other sections of the dining room because they were so slow. The whole process was clumsy and poorly handled.
As for the food - the bread was awesome and the steaks top-notch. The crab cake appetizer was superb. The broccoli au gratin was just meh and the chateau potatoes were cold and lifeless. To top it all off, the orange mandarin cake we received was an obnoxiously huge serving.
Apparently, the pastry chef had gone home early and the server had to slice it.
For $200 plus tip, not what you would expect from a first class steak house.
I haven't given up on this place and I will just chalk it up to an off night.
Th hostess initially was going to put us next to the piano but we asked to be moved. We were sat at the other side of the restaurant and I’m very glad about that. It was a little darker on the other side but we both liked the feel and ambiance of it a lot more. We started with the ahi tuna and cheese plate. The ahi tuna was much better than the cheese plate which left something to be desired. My husband got the filet and I got the grouper (Cajun style). The fish was huge and I could only eat half of it. We also got a side of lobster Mac and cheese to split and ended up bringing home half. They don’t skimp on portion sizes. While the food was good, it wasn’t exceptional. For this price point I would prefer to go to Kres.
We have never been disappointed at Christener's. We go several times a year for special occasions (birthdays, anniversaries, etc.) and have done so for about 30 years. It is definitely our favorite steak place around Orlando and we always eagerly anticipate our next visit.
My seared tuna and my husband's salmon were excellent and both large portions. The service was spot on. We went for my husband's birthday, he sincerely enjoyed the food and ambience. My only recommendation, do not put the cocktail sauce on the shrimp cocktail. Should be served on the side.
This is our favorite restaurant to celebrate our anniversary and birthdays. The filet melts in your mouth and the cream spinach and potatoes au gratin are our favorite sides. And of course the bread!! Our adult sons always say yes when we ask them to join us.
