Christiana Campbell's Tavern
Music is provided nightly in the tavern from 5:15pm- 7:15pm.
Our sever did a excellent job. For his 2nd day on the job he was great. We had a good time and the food was excellent. We loved the spoon bread. We will stop again on our next trip to Williamsburg
Celebrated our 22nd wedding anniversary in Colonial Williamsburg and loved this restaurant. The food was excellent and plenty of it. The narrator was entertaining and very enjoyable. Highly recommend this tavern.
Excellent dining experience in a historic Colonial Williamsburg tavern. George Washington's favorite when in Williamsburg. The various "supper" options are complete meals - soup, salad, main course and dessert. Not a complaint about any of the courses from any in our dining party. Service is impeccable. The noise level can be high - but dining ambience in 18th century taverns was not a priority.
Our server was absolutely great!! We come here every time we are in Williamsburg and have never been disappointed. Food, service, and atmosphere are always wonderful. Thank you again for a perfect dining experience.
Disappointed that we did not receive basket of muffins or bread that other tables received. Also 3 of the 6 mussels were sealed tight...could not eat. Server ignored us when we told her this. But overall enjoyed food.
Total colonial experience! Very enjoyable. Food was excellent!
Perfect ending to a day in Colonial Williamsburg. The food was delicious and we were also transported in time!
I feel like everyone who lives in Williamsburg should go here at least once. It's more of an experience than a regular meal. Our waitress was great and we enjoyed the food. Wear your loosest pants because they give you so much food. There's sweet potato loaf before soup and salad, but also spoon bread with dinner. I had stuffed trout and my mom had the crab cakes and both were delicious. I'll definitely return.
Very noisy! Limited menu. Old favorites, for example seafood our, no longer on the menu. A disappointment!
Clara was our waitress. She was everything you would want! She was professional, friendly, efficient and knowledgeable about her job. The entire evening was enjoyable because of her efficiency and attentiveness. We look forward to visiting Christiana Campbell’s soon.

We had a great time! First, because of the colonial setting, the restaurant is so cozy, especially after the sun sets. Also, our server was very knowledgeable and friendly. The owner came to the table too to see how everything was, and he was also very nice. Lastly, the food was great as well! Quite a unique and enjoyable experience, overall.
My plate wasn't hot. My partners was with the same item. So I sat and waited while he ate. Unpleasant.
Seven of us had dinner at the last reservation, 7:45 pm. Our server, Randy, was superb and suggested ways to cut costs from the expensive meals. Although prices seem reasonable if one wants and can eat all the courses of huge portions, the price is high if one only wants two of the four courses. So Randy helped us split plates. The crab cake was disappointing with little flavor from shaved, not lump, crab meat. The she-crab soup was good as was the salad. The mixed berry cobbler was outstanding. I'd recommend Christina's for the experience, but I'm not sure I'll return.
Disappointed in this visit. Have eaten there before, but ambiance has definitely changed. Now seems like a mediocre meal in an old building, not much Colonial atmosphere. No entertainment as in years past. Only thing that makes it Colonial is how staff is dressed. Paid $43 for what amounted to pot roast over mashed potatoes. Granted it was off-season during the week, but if they are not going to provide the atmosphere, should lower prices. Same applies to Shields Tavern.
Value excellent. Atmosphere and service very good. Nothing to complain about food wise but we couldn’t remember what tbe ebtrees were two days later.
Food was fabulous and although pricey, well worth it.
Our server made our experience wonderful. He was funny, helpful and knew his history. The spoon bread is excellent. The chicken was dry, however. The entertainment was enjoyable and everyone was nice and welcoming.
A perfect way to end a week at Williamsburg. A tad pricey but worth the experience, ambiance and food!
The entire meal was excellent. I would go back just for the dessert, I got the wild berry cobbler.
The historic home and the period dressed servers added a sense of authenticity to the dining experience. The food and service were excellent. The only negative is that the tables are crowded into small rooms, so it feels like you are eating on top of each other. This contributes to a noisier than average environment.
Excellent food. Great service. Nice to get local seafood that was well prepared. Liked the large napkins around the neck.
After visiting This locations many times over the years, I was disappointed with the new menu changes. They were very limiting and almost identical to the other taverns. Gone was the Mint Julep from the menu and they only offered one seafood platter from a restaurant known for seafood.
however the Air Conditioning was not working and very uncomfortable inside.
Service and food was excellent, I will definitely return! I wish there was a little more entertainment; the mandolin player was wonderful and I wish he had played more!
Great place to eat in Colonial Williamsburg. Delicious 4 course meal.
The food was wonderful and Clara was helpful and sweet. I’m happy I chose this place for a memorable meal with my family.
The food was delicious and our server, Shirley, was terrific! This is our favorite restaurant in the restored Williamsburg village.
Menu recently changed and for the better. The food was tasteful and delicious. Staff courteous and knowledgeable. Service was outstanding. Plan on spending at least 2 hours. Plus.. try the berry crisp dessert.
Excellent food and service, we will be back . Server was excellent
⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ A must Vacation Destination for my family! We have been coming to Colonial Williamsburg for years and it is our favorite tavern — the fantastic service and delicious food never disappoints! Pooh is our favorite waitress — she is very kind and welcoming with an excellent attention to detail. Mrs. Campbell would be proud of everyone!!!
Wonderful experience!! The food was very good. The service was impeccable. It was a bit tight, the tables are very close together. But overall the ambiance was very nice.
I can’t recommend Christiana Campbell’s enough. It is our favorite tavern in Colonial Williamsburg! We come here every time we visit.
The food is delicious and historically inspired. The service is fun and helpful. The ambiance is cozy and unique.
Definitely visit if you have a chance!
Possibly one of the coolest places we have ever eaten. Great food and tons of history. To think that you are eating in the same place that George Washington ate is mind blowing.
The atmosphere is very 18th century. The staff is great. One of our diners had some eating restrictions and they did their best to accommodate. Food was delicious. We had 4 people in our party and all 4 ordered something different. Everyone loved what the got. Desserts were good. The best was the chocolate cake and cobbler. Price is what you would expect for a historic tourist location. I highly recommend if you are looking for a place to have a fun 18th century meal.
Good colonial atmosphere. We have eaten here many times with good results. Tonight, my wife and a friend shared a steak dinner. They could hardly cut the steak. The waitress brought out replacement steak knives. Although the flavor was good, it was hard to cut. My wife gave me a bite and the meat had a good bit of grissel in it and was chewy. They took $8.99 off of a $40 meal. Shame on us. We should have sent the entree back. It was embarrassing to have taken a friend there for sub par food. Here’s hoping that was an exception. Stick with their seafood dishes if you go.
Recommended for spoonbread only. The meal was mediocre this time.
Would recommend more for the ambiance and Colonial feel. The sweet potato and spoon bread were great. The waitress was mediocre and seemed a bit irritated in her attitude; however, one gentleman working the room was fantastic. He was friendly, engaged us in pleasant conversation and brought me a recipe flyer when I said I wanted to find out how to make the sweet potato bread. For us it was probably a "been there, done that" experience.
Lovely step back a couple hundred years ago. Great food and true candlelit dining.
Excellent meal and service in the heart of Colonial Williamsburg! We were even able to take a shuttle there and back from the resort. The atmosphere made you feel like you were back in time. The food was outstanding. Christiana Cambell's "daughter" visited each room to talk a little about the history of the tavern!
Delicious food and outstanding service. Everyone was so professional and kind. The 18th century representatives were very knowledgeable.
