It was a birthday present for my 87 year old Mom! She was thrilled!! They gave her a little bouquet of flowers and the gentleman playing an instrument I believe was a lute, serenaded her!!! The food was exceptional. While the prices seemed to be a little high, the ambiance and service made up for it. Definitely a place to go to for a special occasion!!!! We will definitely be back!!! We are from Kentucky!

How wonderful that Campbell's is open again! Food, service, and ambience are all exceptional, complete with strolling musician at dinnertime. Primarily seafood (my party had crab cakes, fried flounder, and a seafood pie) but there are steaks and chicken available for non-seafood folks. Had come here for several years prior to their closing during COVID, and so glad they are back! Just as good if not better!

We were there for our 45th anniversary and have been coming to Williamsburg for as many years as we love it there. While the Tavern is very nice and we have eaten at them all, be prepared for sticker shock. Limited selections and the least expensive thing on the menu is $30 FRIED CHICKEN!! I got the $50 seafood pie which was tasty but arrived cold!! Sadly disappointed and won’t dine there again.

I always think CW restaurants will be too tourist like. However, it was fine dining. Server could even answer all of our history questions and the bar made me a perfect drink.

Birthday celebration with an old friend. We had a truly delightful meal. Food and drinks were delicious!! We enjoyed the cherry brandy beverage. We had the pea soup, trout, crab cake and each was perfect with generous portions and lovely presentation. Our server was a very skilled young lady who never seemed rushed despite giving service to several tables as once. She was attentive and prompt and friendly, extremely well responsive to our needs or requests. We ate at the Williamsburg Inn and Kings Arms Tavern also on this trip. Our experience at Campbells was head and shoulders above…absolute best!!!

Authenticity w/ descriptions of menu items actual excepts from original Colonial recipes. Friendly, helpful and knowledgeable servers. An excellent fiddler rounded to our room (2nd floor, former inn room). Ever heard a bagpipe on a violin?! Incredible. We were celebrating our 50th wedding anniversary and it seemed the entire tavern staff was aware -and certainly our room as the fiddler played a lovely rice to mark our celebration. Good delicious and generous portions. A must-do when visiting area. Call ahead. Be sure to walk grounds and peek into other rooms. A true national treasure!

My wife had the seafood pie as her birthday dinner -superb; and, I had the fried chicken -excellent! The waiter was very attentive and informative yet never intrusive. The entertainer who played instruments and sang was excellent; providing yet another wonderful memory from the evening.

Not worth the price in our opinions. Fried lobster was just that- a lobster tail still in the shell dropped in batter and fried. The lobster tail itself was not the best quality. We liked the crab cakes, sweet potato muffins, and the punch bowl. Ambiance and service was fun but we spent over $150 on a meal that we weren’t crazy about. fried fish was just okay.

First time dining here, and don’t know that we’ll return. We had the seafood pye, roast chicken, and fried fish, and while not bad, it was a bit underwhelming, especially the seafood pye. For what is suppose to be their most popular dish, it was a bit of disappointment. The crust was tough, and it seemed very bland and under seasoned. The vegetables and seafood was cooked well. On a more positive note, the staff was wonderful.

The staff and main meal was outstanding. The oysters on the half shell were small and overpriced as was the glass of wine which was barely half a glass. This is Williamsburg not New York.

The food, drinks, and service were fantastic! The Irish harp musician they had was also phenomenal. Unfortunately, we couldn’t fully enjoy her beautiful music bc in the back room, there were 2 large, very loud parties at either end that talked throughout her performance(s). Honestly, we couldn’t hear ourselves speaking to each other through most of the meal bc of the acoustics in that room with those 2 parties. Next time I will request one of the front rooms, those seemed to be more suited to enjoying the overall experience.

Our experience at Christiana Campbell's was outstanding. We ordered the Crab Cakes, Fresh Rainbow Trout and Potato Dumplings and each was beautifully presented and delicious! A salad was also ordered and came with the most interesting assortment of field greens...no ordinary salad! The sweet potato muffins and spoon bread accompanying the meals were nice touches. The fruit trifle for dessert was a flavorful ending to a memorable meal. Our server was friendly, attentive and well informed, efficient in her service. The ambiance of this historic tavern is lovely. While the prices are not inexpensive, we would highly recommend a visit to this wonderful tavern while in Williamsburg.

We were looking forward to this Colonial dining experience and this gem did not disappoint. The ambiance was so lovely and as well as welcoming with the perfect balance of history and entertainment. The food was ridiculously delicious. I got “A Seafood Pye” to die for and a tarragon gin and tonic. What a treat! Every member of my family agreed that it is the place to eat when visiting Williamsburg, VA. We will definitely be back!
