Christian Michael's Ristorante
For a Saturday night reservation, there was only one waiter and no back waiters to assist with drink service. We were left without drinks for a measurable amount of time.
I had the Ahi Tuna with whole wheat noodles and hoisin sauce. The tuna was seared perfectly and the cucumbers we're awesome, but the noodles we're a bit too al dente and it was swimming in hoison sauce. I think if there was less sauce and if the noodles we're cooked a minute longer, then it would have been a home run dish.
We love this restaurant, our server Ronnie, was fabulous. Our issue was that we saw CM’s Facebook post that their special of the whole month of November would be Braised Short Ribs. We were disappointed when we were told that it was sold out. We then choice Bacon Wrapped Meatloaf, that was not available either.
Christian Michael's is a great date place. This date, my wife and I celebrated our anniversary. We look forward to our next romantic dinner together there.
Waiter was pleasant and accommodating with our food selections. Great clam chowder and crab cakes. Helped celebrate my moms 81st birthday by bringing us a complementary dessert making the night extra special!
For the price, the food was pretty average; the wine pour was skimpy. Not a bad experience, just nothing special.
I found Christian Michael on the internet, & we were glad that we went, the dining experience was great, Aaron our waiter provided a great service
Very pricey for this area, but it seems to be more the alcohol prices than the food. Entrees are $26 - $40, at a minimum (with the exception, I believe, of a small chicken breast). Wine was crazy. Sobon zin $42 per bottle, $52 for "Pessimist." I just think the mark up is a bit much for our area.
Again, great service and the food was outstanding.
Best bottomless champagne brunch in town!! Food is amazing and the staff is very attentive.
It was such a beautiful place inside, great service and the food was top of the line. Will definitely be coming back.
Everything was of exceptional quality and obviously homemade, cooked and seasoned perfectly. Highly recommend
We went for the early bird dinner It was really very good, soup or salad, entree and dessert all for under $30. And our waiter Ronnie was excellent. We'll definitely go back.
Great service plus great food makes for a wonderful evening. The caprese and Caesar salads were very good and the fish specialty (Tonga fish?) was wonderful. The New York Steak was good but a bit chewy. Otherwise, I would have given it 5 stars.
Very disappointed from the last time we visited. Greasy oil was substituted for olive oil. The salad was over-saturated with dressing. The vegetables were not properly cooked. The size of the creme brulee cup was significantly reduced. I half joked with my wife that it was an "early bird special" adjustment. Still not worth the price.
Quiet atmosphere, excellent waiter. The Brooklyn cocktail was outstanding, as was the food! Everyone loved their entree and the desserts. I would highly recommend celebrating your birthday here, or any elegant meal with friends!
All staff were warm and welcoming. Food was excellent.
The service was very good. We were seated in a corner, back of the room table for two, yet the first 30 minutes of our arrival was filled with a table of 6 raucus people; uncomfortable the atmosphere we sought for 13th wedding anniversary dinner. The meal was served in a timely manner.
However, the seafood ravioli was very poor. We were told that the seafood was supposed to be in the ravioli's, since they were not evident in the sauce. Each ravioli was flat and tough. Our waiter offered to reduce the price of the meal. We refused, with the stipulation that he would pass our information on to the Chef. We did not reduce our gratuity...it was not his fault.
Thanks for asking.
Great food and great service...quiet and very upscale atmosphere...highly recommend this place.
This is a favorite place for a friend of mine to celebrate her birthday. We always find good things to eat (the meatloaf was FABULOUS!)
My girlfriends and I went for brunch and had a great time! Our server, Blake, was so attentive and treated us wonderfully. Food was delicious, we will definitely be back. We also appreciated the flowing mimosas;)
My wife and I decided to celebrate her birthday at Christian Michael’s after hearing good things from friends. We had enjoyed wonderful drinks there in the past but had not eaten a meal there. We had reservations for 6 o’clock on a Saturday in July. We wanted an intimate meal in a quiet setting and that’s exactly what we received. We shared a delicious caprese salad and a bottle of Italian wine that we brought. For the entrée I had salmon with grilled baby potatoes, squash and onions with a flavorful sauce. My wife had seafood ravioli with a creamy shrimp sauce and Parmesan sprinkle. Both dishes were outstanding!
Our waiter, Ian, gave us fantastic service, even proffering “Buona notte” as we left. Now that’s Italian! Price for the meal with a $15 corkage fee was $85. That’s quite a value for such a special evening.
First time going it was amazing everything wash fresh and flavorful. The chicken was tender and the tiramisu was rich and delicious. Looking forward to go back. The service was great also gave us time to eat but also attentive and made sure we had everything.
Waiter was very attentive and didn’t rush us. Great experience
Christian Michael's has always been one of my favorites. We only live in the Chico area about 5 months a year and CM is a must for meeting friends for dinner. Nice varied menu and all that we've tried have been delicious. Question - Butte County produces some beautiful wines. Why don't you support the Local wine vintners, especially during "Butte County Wine Week?" Shame on you!!!
Ronnie H. (I think that’s right) was our waiter and he was great! One our best waiters in a very long time especially because we had our boys with us. He was patient and knowledgeable about both the menu and wine as well as attentive. We always enjoy our trips here but he made it better!
We celebrated a friend's birthday. Party of six and we had a perfect booth. Great service. Fantastic food. Quiet restaurant allowed for our group to have a nice conversation.
We love the early dinners. Ronnie is a professional waiter and provided us with an excellent dining experience. The food was delectable as always!
The Grey Goose lemon drops were outstanding. I would skip the bruschetta and try something else. The dressed arugula and watercress is outstanding. The creme brulee & coffee were outstanding. Best of all I didn't have to cook!😁 I would dine here again just to try some different items on the menu.
Waitress was outstanding. Steak was good. A bit loud but due to Chico grad people. Would highly recommend.
Nice, classic restaurant that has been in Chico for years. The menu is very static and vegetarian choices were limited to two items. It would be nice to see a little movement toward vegetarian/vegan items since there are a number of people in the area with diets in those categories.
Always guaranteed a wonderful meal and a great time at Christian Michael's!
Service was Very good. Server was polite, attentive and knew his job well. Food was good but didn't stand out as something to be remembered. Atmosphere was nice as well but again didn't seem high end. Overall we will probably attend again but not go out of our way to do so. If asked we would recommend but not necessarily suggest the restaurant.
Very disappointing brunch after celebrating 7 prior Easter's there at 5 stars. Service, or the lack there of, ruined everything. Maybe that explained why they were not full. We will probably look for a new Easter restaurant next.
We had a 530pm reservation for 4 to celebrate our 29th wedding anniversary. They bought out 2 glasses of champagne for us right away. We went before 6pm to take advantage of the early Chefs Special menu. It is a limited menu that comes with an entree, salad or soup and desert. I was very impressed by the portion sizes, huge portions. Well worth the price. Nothing was super fancy but it was worth going early.
Perfect. Best in Chico.
Was really excited to try this restaurant but was left very disappointed. Drinks took forever to get delivered, we spent most the night with our water glasses empty also. Ordered a steak medium well & it arrived rare at best. & to top it all off the waiter threw the leftover raviolis probably half the dish away after asking for it to be boxed up. Instead of taking it off the bill he asked if the chefs could make another plate of it.
Pleasant Discovery in Chico for a nice sit-down restaurant. Wasn't crowded, it should be. Not a student place, great for parents when they visit.
This is our go to place for celebrating special occasions. The food has always been delicious. Staff courteous and attentive. And if you can manage to save room their desserts are divine.
Our server was wonderful. We enjoyed our food as well. Dennis felt the tiramisu was a little stale. Been to CM for a long time. It is one of our top dining out choices
Enjoyed the bar area and light menu. I wish they changed up the menu more. I’ve been bringing friends here for years and I’m getting a little tired of the same fare. Having said that, the food is delicious and consistent. Go there and have fun! The bartenders are fantastic!
