Christakis Greek Cuisine
On April 1, 1996, Yanoula Christakis Wallace opened the doors of Christakis, a restaurant that represented her homeland and the passion she felt towards her culture. Whether you are looking for a quick lunch or celebrating a special event, Christakis Greek Cuisine is the place to enjoy traditional Greek dishes at a reasonable price. Since 1996, we’ve used only the finest and freshest ingredients to create traditional Greek cuisine. Today, the family at Christakis continues to bring the authentic spirit and warmth of Greece to Orange County.
Delicious food and great service. The dolomades were fabulous as was the lemon/chicken/rice soup. Others in the group enjoyed tilapia
Great patio. Lovely food
It’s absolutely delicious! Great atmosphere with hanging white lights and live music. Patio with heaters as well. Owner and servers treat you very personally. We love the place for date night, out with couples or with kids. Wine choices are great and yummy desserts. Hummus is the best!
We gathered for a friend's birthday. He thoroughly enjoyed it as he has many times before. All were very pleased with their meals. Serve staff was attentive even though they were setting up for a huge birthday dinner. I have been to Christakis many times and will be back..many more.
We celebrated our anniversary and had a wonderful meal. Food was terrific (we had the mini rack of lamb), and first started with a Saganaki appetizer. Finished with Galaktabourikos for dessert. This was a perfect night at one of our very favorite restaurants.
Michael & Sarah are ALWAYS there to make sure our meal is as delightful as possible! We have brought many new guests there and to a person they walk away very happy and wonder why they haven't been there before!! Christakis is the definition of a "FIND" of ever there was one!
It is hard to find a family-owned establishment these days and this place is great!
This place Never disappoints.. Food service ambience and memories made here are memorable every meal we've had!
This is a hidden gem. Family Saturday lunch. We ate on the patio. Lovely fountain. Food is wonderful. Good choices for lunch and ample portions. Wonderful desserts. The service was outstanding. Be sure to remember there is parking in the back. The main lot is pretty crowded. We will return.
Good food, friendly atmosphere, nice service, highly recommend lamb chops (pirzola), grape leaf stuffing (yaprak dolma) and meat balls (kofte), enjoy 🥂
Good food and attentive staff. Nice experience
Food, ambiance, & service were wonderful. Greek salad is to die for. Main courses were plentiful, high quality & beautifully presented.
Having worked in a Greek restaurant in Chicago for many years, I'm very familiar with Greek food. Christakis had great menu choices, was authentic, and delicious. My husband and I split the Greek salad and then ordered Athenian Chicken and the Petite Rack of Lamb. All three were wonderful. Highly recommend.
Cozy and quiet. Had a great birthday lunch with family. Server was personable and the food was outstanding. The wine was excellent. Great place for special occasions. Highly recommended for a fantastic dining experience.
We went for dinner on a Mon. night and it was quiet with a pleasant ambiance. A musician was playing his guitar in the corner and had a nice sound, tall plants with stringed lights around the outdoor patio space was tranquil, a fountain in the middle of the area bubbled away. My understanding from the waiter is that they get incredibly busy on the weekend, so the atmosphere may be way different on those days. So if you're looking for a relaxing or romantic dinner, I'd suggest a weekday. I'm sure the weekends are totally worth a visit too as the food was great! We had a couple of appetizers. SPANAKOPITA - spinach, feta & herbs baked in layers of fillo dough (3) which was good, but not a favorite to order again. Others who really like spinach may especially like it. GYRO - sliced gyro meat topped with tzatziki, tomatoes & onions which was AMAZING. We've had a lot of Greek food and this was a definite favorite. The meat was so tender and tasty. For dinner, my husband and I split the CHICKEN SKORDALIA - half free range organic chicken roasted in garlic, lemon, EVOO rosemary and it was incredible. It came with rice pilaf, oven baked lemon potatoes and sautéed green beans. Everything was flavored so nicely, the meat was tender, and the portion was just right for us to split. The waiter was very helpful, considerate, and didn't intrude too much. I hope you enjoy it as much as we did! We'll me coming back for sure.
We have visited Christakis on 3 different occasions and have really enjoyed each visit. The food is delicious. When asked to suggest a good Greek place, this is definitely my "go to"
The service, food and ambiance was outstanding. All 3 of us gals loved our meals. I tasted the salmon, which was amazing. Perfectly cooked and seasoned. The falafel was perfect too; not dry at all and delicious. Even the coffee had an amazing cinnamon note. So great. Would recommend!
Another wonderful meal at Christakis. This is now one of our favorites. We love Christakis.
The ribs are amazing and the rice pudding unbelievable
Always a pleasure to dine here. Can't beat the patio ambiance with live acoustic guitar. Top notch service as well.
Friends got together for dinner. Sat outside and it was delightful.
Service was excellent and ambiance very nice. Food always good. Everyone enjoyed the evening.
We have always really enjoyed the outstanding quality and flavor of their food. Very friendly service. Soft live music. Great to eat outside in their patio during the summer months.
We had a really nice meal on their patio. The appetizer trio was perfectly delicious and just the right size for two. The server was very helpful and the wine he recommended was just right for our meal. We had the gyro plate and petite rack of lamb dinners. They were both so good! Good thing we left room for dessert because the baklava and creme brûlée were so good! We could also enjoy the soft guitar playing just off the patio. It really made it a memorable and enjoyable experience 😁
I always enjoy your restaurant. It is one of the better ones in
the general neighborhood.
My wife and I have been going to Christakis pretty much since it opened. It is one of our favorite restaurants. Sometimes we order a bottle of wine and then appetizers until we are no longer hungry, in the Greek and Middle Eastern manner. Sometimes we order dinners. The food is delicious and sitting on the patio is very relaxing.
This past Saturday we took a special couple to Christakis to celebrate their 50th wedding anniversary. Mike was our waiter and the service couldn't have been better. He was a gracious host. We started with two orders of the trio appetizer (hummus, taziki & Red pepper dip) My wife had the Mousaka, our friends had the Pastisio and Christakis Combo and I ordered the Keftedes ( greek meatballs) with french fries.
Mike brought us a salad and dessert on the house because of the anniversary and we ordered a bottle of wine that he recommended. We were there over two hours, just relaxing, DINING not just eating. It was an absolutely wonderful night.
Met my daughter for dinner. The outside patio was full so we dined inside. Not crowded and very clean. There was a gentleman seated placing an acoustic guitar throughout the time we ate. We made reservations on Open Table (great app).
The servers were extremely attentive. Our drinks never went dry, even though we drank only water.
We started out with dolmas and the trio appetizers. Warm and delicious.
My daughter had the chicken plate and everything on it tasted delicious.
I had the lamb gyro plate. The flavors were outstanding. I we were stuffed at meals end. We stayed and caught up without being pressured to leave.
Again, the servers were awesome, the music, the clearness, the atmosphere and the food made this an extremely enjoyable night. Looking forward to returning with my wife. Would recommend this restruant for any occasion ❤️
We enjoyed our evening because the service was so good but really we were not wowed by the food. The lamb wasn’t cooked great and there was not much for our 12 year old to eat.
We've been to Christakis Greek Cuisine a few times now, and each time has been an excellent dining experience. We didn't think we liked rack of lamb...until we ate here! WOW. If you haven't tried their lamb, then you need to. What a great customer service experience. The restaurant is not close for us, but it is definitely worth the drive.
So glad to find this gem. Wonderful flavors, presented quickly and prepared well. The service was friendly by all (team took great care of us) and prompt. Our family will return soon.
This was our second visit, and it was as great as the first. The patio is delightful, and our server, Austin was terrific. I had the Christakis Combo consisting of two perfectly cooked and seasoned lamb chops, a portion of Pastitsio that was outstanding, and a dolma that was also wonderful. My wife had a pork chop she absolutely loved. Our friends both had Moussaka and they said it was the best they ever had (and they were in Greece about 4 months ago). We all shared a slice of a chocolate mousse pie that was excellent and agreed that we can’t wait to come back. This is a really great restaurant!
Loved the live music was my husbands first time and the restaurant we both enjoyed it .
Food, Wine Selections, Service and Atmosphere are all spectacular. A hidden gem that never fails
'Always look forward to dining at Christakas. The lamb dishes are outstanding.
We thoroughly enjoyed our date on their patio. Hard to find an independently owned restaurant that give a quaint ambiance here in OC. If that is what you are looking for, Christakis is your place. You will not be disappointed with the food, service and ambiance. My new favorite place.
Sorry to say they really disappointed us. Wife ordered the Salmon and when it came out she new right away after one bite something was wrong. She is a major Salmon eater. So after the kind waiter agreed it looked very dried out when she orders medium rare to rare and makes it clear to please not over cook it, we come to find out that her salmon was ready before my Halibut and so they tossed the Salmon in the oven after just grilling it waiting for my fish to cook - what makes me mad is the chef should of not allowed this meal to go out to the table , so sorry to say we will not be back. YEs the took the meal off the bill.
I picked this restaurant based on an Open Table search and a look at the reviews. This place is terrific. We were seated on the patio on a perfect night where there is a lovely fountain in the middle. We brought our own wine but the cork broke, and the waiter decanted and filtered the wine. He earned the $20 corkage. We ordered two appetizers. Fried calamari was served with a really good sauce, and saganaki (flamed at the table) was outstanding. Our friends had a salad and moussaka, which they said was the best they ever had (they were in Greece 6 months ago). My wife had lamb chops; I had the petite rack of lamb. They were perfectly done, but the petite rack was anything but petite - there was a LOT of lamb. The side vegetables were excellent. We ended with a creme brûlée and a baklava (it was my birthday) and a Greek coffee. The entire meal (especially the service) was outstanding. We can’t wait to go back!
Like other reviewers stated, service was very attentive and the staff friendly. Food was good - worth another visit for sure.
Arriving early, we got to choose our table, to be close to the classical violinist playing that evening. Water was served immediately, but no bread, or olive oil, was offered. We enjoyed our gyro appetizer, which had plenty of meat, pita portions, with chopped raw onion and tomatoes. We asked for more sauce, which quickly arrived. We split our halibut entree, served with rice and vegetables. The sauce that came with the fish entree was too salty for our tastes. Otherwise we both agreed that we would return and suggest it to our friends as well.
great food and service! Highly recommend! I got the rack of lamb and it was delicious and tender. My husband got the gyro plate and it was FULL of flavor. We will be back!
