Our server is great, the food tastes amazing, the guitarist was talented and everyone who worked there was very friendly and courteous.
Great food and atmosphere. Michael was most cordial and attentive. We love it!
Always fantastic food, wine and service. We have been going there for over 20 years, and even though we now live on the east coast, we make a point to have dinner at Christakis any time we are in town. Really fantastic Greek food, and Michael is an excellent host!
Best Greek food in Orange County. Absolute favorite restaurant in orange country, thank you.
We were blown away! The food and atmosphere were amazing and the staff was INCREDIBLY friendly! We will definitely become fast regulars here!! Can’t wait to go back!
Second time i come here for my birthday. The food and service is absolutely amazing. I highly recommend this restaurant for excellent greek food and great/attentive servers. Will definitely be returning next year for my birthday.
Great dining experience, enjoyed the good food and great service.
I’ve been coming here for years and love the vibe of this place, whether we sit indoors or in the beautiful patio. The service is always on point. The food was excellent! We started out with the Trio (hummus, tzatziki & kopanisti) served with warm pita. All delish! I then ordered the Paidakia (lamb chops) that were thick and perfectly cooked. My friend had the Lamb Souvlaki and thoroughly enjoyed it. Look forward to going back soon.
Great authentic Greek food and wonderful service. Great for any occasion or just dinner with friends and family.
This hidden gem has become a favorite place to have lunch or dinner. The food is beautifully served and is delicious. The staff is friendly and helpful. I enjoy my experience here in every way...their wine is nice too!
Great little spot with excellent food and service.
So glad to have found this place. Just the perfect place for a lunch with girlfriends or a dinner date.
Another great night at Christakis. We made a reservation for 4 and asked to sit on the patio. About an hour beforehand, we changed it to 5 and when we arrived, they weren't able to seat us there because of the late change. This was understandable, but they did everything to make up for it, even giving us a free appetizer. The food and service was exceptional, 3 of us having the surf and turf special (a good-sized lobster tail and 2 large lamb chops for a very reasonable $28) A great night!
This is one of our favorite places. The food is fresh and really good quality. The patio is lovely and relaxing, if you sit inside there is usually a guitar player which creates a nice atmosphere. Really good Greek food.
ALWAYS GREAT !
ALWAYS GREAT !
Very helpful with a reservation change. Good attitude and very good performance.
Food was excellent from appetizers to main course. Service quick and responsive without being intrusive.
The place is small in space, but you get a solid feeling that there's some big heart in the operation.
Very quaint little place with great service from friendly hostess to attentive server. A nice bonus to have live guitarist playing classical guitar pieces. The food is also good, especially the flambé cheese w pita bread to start, along w the hummus trio. I would highly recommend this place to Greek food fan.
We enjoy going to Christakis, Mike makes us feel like family. The food is always outstanding, Nick is a great chef.
Had been trying to find a good Greek restaurant.. And now I have found it. Family owned, authentic flavor, and great service.
We were in town visiting family and planned a last minute date night. Not knowing the area well, we used OpenTable to find a recommendation and discovered Christakis. We are NorCal foodies, and can say with confidence that Christakis is a hidden gem.
We dined outside on the twinkly lit patio, that is very romantic, and kept warm with plenty of heat lamps. In the center of the patio is a beautiful fountain.
The owner, Mike, selected 4 delicious items for my fiance and I to share:
Starters: Saganaki, a half order of Keftedes
Salad: Villager's Salad
Entree: Rack of Lamb
The food and wine (Merreville Pinot & Saldo, a new wine from Prisoner) were delicious. Mike is so warm and welcoming, and took great care of us. We will FOR SURE be back.
Tip: Be sure to request the patio.
A delicious meal, and fantastic service (thanks Austin!). Food comes piping hot, and quick too!
Always and enjoyable dining experience! The wine tasting dinners are an especially delightful pleasure, my wife and I have attended allbut two since they started. Another thing we enjoy is going there Sunady afternoon for lunch. The Corfu Salad has gyro meat is filling andnot to be missed if you like lamb. I highly reccomend this restaurant!
The food was fantastic as always. The service was outstanding!
It was our 24th anniversary, and wife wanted moussaka and a Google search led us here. The service was outstanding and friendly. I had the christakis combo. The dolmas were like expected. True dolmas. Then i started on the two lamb chops. I ordered medium rare. The first bite, and I wanted to order a full rack. They're that good. We finished with our waiter bringing us a baklava with a candle on it. Very nice touch. We'll be back.
This was our 3rd visit and the food, wine, and service were great
The owner was extremely gracious . We were sitting outside and it started to rain . They took no time to rush us inside and seat us even though it was a private party going on. The rack of lambs was awesome and they treated us very well
Food is excellent, service is outstanding, and music was lovely!
Excellent food, service and ambiance. Background live guitar music really made it a great experience.
Delicious food, great service and very nice ambience! Loved it!
It was a rainy evening and so several diners that would otherwise have chosen to dine on the patio were moved to tables inside.
The entire staff worked to make sure everyone was well taken care of. Service was excellent and the food was fantastic. We tried the calamari appetizer and the salmon and tilapia main courses. Michael recommended a great Chardonnay and it was a terrific evening where a less experienced staff might have not been able to pull it all off.
Oh what a great evening! Mike really took super care of my wife and I for not only did he suggest an excellent wine for our meal that evening, my wife received a special "plate" for her meal too since we were celebrating a special happening! Mike also gave us a few sugar cookies to celebrate as well and he was so gracious to put us in a table we requested too. Thank you again for such a wonderful evening Christakis and Mike too and we plan to return soon for another amazing evening and meal :-)
Alex was a wonderful server. Atmosphere was a bit noisy inside dining room because the lovely guitarist was a bit loud so it was a bit hard to hear. We were also seated close to the kitchen and service station. My lamb solvaki was a bit too rare even though I asked for medium. The lentil soup was wonderful and our desserts were delicious! I’ll be back!
Outstanding food and service. Always a pleasure to dine there. The staff is the best.
The food here is great, especially the lemon soup, the lamb chops, and the moussaka. The service is always excellent and very responsive. The music is an added bonus for the enjoyable environment.
Wonderful atmosphere and engaged staff. Classical gutarist aded a nice touch to the ambience. Food was authentic and portioned correctly. We had the chicken souvlaki and avgo soup (just like Yaya use to make!). Pricing was appropriately scaled to the quality of food and service. Have recommended to friends and family. Opa!!
Loved it. Food was delicious. Service was on point.
We just love this restaurant. The staff is always attentive but not overbearing.
Have been here many times for dinner. This was first time for lunch with my co-workers. Love the atmosphere, feels like I was in Santorini. The service was impeccable. The host knew us immediately and our table was ready waiting for us. I had to change the time twice. Did it on Opentable, quick, hassle free. We ordered the the dolmades and calamari for appetizers. Dolmades was slightly salty but perfect with the lemon sauce. Main courses were lamb, pork chop, and mousaka. All tasted good. The pork chop was juicy, grilled to perfection, no burned pieces. So was the lamb. I'd recommend this place for a romantic dinner. They have a guitarist playing live music. The restaurant itself is situated in a lovely old town square with boutique stores around. The lamb chops for dinner is a must try.
What a mistake! On the recommendation of a 4.2 star rating we went for dinner on Valentines Day. What a disaster. First, they offered a special menu that had zero entrees that were Greek. Average plate price was $40. A got the basic prime rib dinner which included an extremely fatty piece of meat, a small baked potato and asparagus. There was no salad or bread service. Others ordered Chilean sea bass and sliced rack of lamb. My prime plate was served cold. The baked potato was half cooked and so cold that the butter wouldn't even melt in it. The asparagus was the same. The sea bass came burnt on the bottom but was not detectable until you moved all the sauce that was slathered on it. No one could believe the lamb ribs were served. The bones were burnt black and the meat was dry and tough. We watched food being served that no cook in his right mind would let come out of the kitchen. The tempo was frantic with plates coming out and going back. What could have been a beautiful Greek dinner was a fiasco. My opinion... stick with what you do best.
Dear Classic Cat. I am one of the owners of Christakis, my mom was the original owner, we started in 1996. Prime Rib was her favorite and I was the one who put it on the menu, as a way to keep her memory around. She passed in 1999. I have to tell you, I read every review to heart. i'm sorry your Valentines was a disaster, and I'm going to rethink some of our choice for special occasions. We try our best and the fact you left unhappy, that's on me. I personally take responsibility. Mike W
