Whether inside our warm dining room or outside under the heated protection of our large awning, diners come to Chouquet’s to enjoy fresh, seasonal French bistro fare in a casual yet refined environment. Join us for lunch, brunch, or dinner and let us satisfy you with signature dishes such as our grilled Ahi tuna with fennel ratatouille and Dungeness crab salad or with bistro classics such as steak frites, moules marinière, and our famous Iles flottantes for dessert. We sat inside for brunch. It was really noisy with screaming babies. Clearly, not the restaurant or staff fault. I would recommend outdoor seating.

Nine of us went for a family brunch New Year's day, ages ranging from 3 to 80, and there was something for everyone on the menu, all delicious, and excellent, attentive and friendly service.

It was a last minute reservation on Christmas Eve. The experience was just “ok” for what we paid.

The server was very accommodating seating us outside at a sunny table waiting for guest to arrive. We ordered a glass of wine while we waited. When our guest arrived, the server checked to see if we were happy with our table or if we would prefer to sit inside. She then moved us inside at our guest’s request. All this was done smoothly and professionally making for a delightful Sunday brunch.

We were attending a lecture nearby and went to Chouquet for a quick dinner beforehand. It was fine but for 2 diners, soup, salad and a glass of wine came to $90 after tip. Seems a bit expensive.

Nothing special, I.e. would never return. Not much in ambience, waiter on the clueless side. Would be surprised if they make it in another 12 months.

Sometimes the start to the night is a foreshadowing of things to come. We had a reservation for 8pm and upon arriving at 7:55 were told they had us at 7:30 (they checked in someone else at that time under our name). We ended up finally sitting down at 8:20. Food was ok – steaks were way undercooked. There was come confusion on the entrees (honest mistake by the waiter) but it was just one of those nights.

The staff was very nice and although I’m not excited to return, I may be willing to give it another chance.

Really excellent for a group - we had 8 people and normally its tough in the city to get good service for larger groups, but this place was excellent. Pamela our server was very relaxed, fun and gave us plenty of time for our indecisive group ! wonderful place, great food and I'll definitely be back !

As always, Chouquet's delivers. I find their food fresh and creative. Easy to catch a quick bite or linger longer. Got my usual salade Nicoise and asked for anchovies on side which I adore.

Love Chouquet's! It's the quintessential "corner" French bistro. Good food, good service and good neighborhood to people-watch. On a nice day or even a cool day, you can enjoy a table outside (there are heaters). I particularly like it in the winter, scooting in from the cold and rain...so cozy. Feels like you're in Paris.

I called to change my reservation from 4 to 6 because friends of ours asked to join the original 4 since they planned to drive from Oakland to the city. 30 minutes before our reservation was to occur, the same friends called to say that the awful bridge traffic was precluding their coming. The entire staff worked with us to get us the best table possible despite the inconvenience of our number that kept changing. All 4 of us enjoyed our food. The coq au vin and mussels were especially delicious and better than most we had tried in San Francisco. We were also impressed by the fact that when a dish was asked to be shared by 2 of us, the kitchen made the division for us and it was again handled with thoughtfulness and care. We will return often and think it is a french restaurant to be tried and enjoyed.

Even our friends who have lived in Paris were pleased! The chicken with truffled mashed potatoes was the best, but the salmon with mushroom risotto and the lamb chops were also delicious. Steak frites okay, frites arrived lukewarm. Oyster special was a great value.

The food left a lot to be desired, and was probably more comparable to a diner than a french bistro. Granted, it was a rush at the start to mother's day, but There was nothing to suggest a level of effort above the minimum, which included a quiche that appeared to be warmed up in a microwave, and eggs benedict that was around the same quality as what we'd make at home.

The service is good, the ambiance is great.

I got 3 calls from the restaurant asking if I meant to leave no tip and to explain or correct. Unfortunately for them I had left a 20% tip despite less than attentive service and an incorrect order. They had the wrong customer. I informed them of their mistake. I don't think that's great for business. I support the neighborhood restaurants. Still, that wasn't appreciated. No bueno, Bo.

Everyone was welcoming and friendly, willing to let us sit where ever we thought was best. My guest had the mussels and declared them outstanding as she is a mussel aficionado. Tuesday is $1.00 oyster night; my 2 tasted perfectly: salty, fresh, just out of the water. Definitely a place to return to.

This was one of the worst dining experiences I have had in SF. Waiter was rude and inattentive when we first arrived with reservations. He said we would have to wait since they were so busy---even thought our table was ready and there were other empty tables. While patiently waiting a group came in and sat at a table after talking to the busboy.
Food was awful: beginning with the bread which was sliced wheat break seemingly from the grocery store up the block---Orowheat maybe?
Salmon was so undercooked it was not even vaguely warm.
Burger was almost raw as well
Gravy on Lamb seemed to be from a can.
Boeuf stew had same "gravy" as the lamb. suspicious.
They were out of both Lillet and Dubonnet and when I then ordered a champagne cocktail I was brought flat champagne.

Terrible experience. The clientele all seemed to be over 70 years old so perhaps it is a place only those that have been in the neighborhood a VERY long time would appreciate.

Very convenient for after a Calvary Presbyterian Church concert. The service was quick and friendly. The ahi tuna appetizer was excellent. My husband enjoyed the traditional soup. I enjoyed rack of lamb (3 lamb chops). The dessert was billed as trio of sorbets, but it came as a frozen apple with sorbet inside it. We'd go there again.
