First of all, Grady was awesome! He has to be the best server in all of VB! Everything was amazing a a perfect pick to celebrate our anniversary. I only gave it a noisy level because of a big group of guys near us. But once they left, it was much better. Get the vanilla pork chop!
The service and food were impeccable. Perfect for a mother's day dinner, or any dinner for that matter.
The app was wonderful to use. The table was ready and the food was wonderful. Best bread around. Will definitely be back.
The food was amazing as always and an ansolute outstanding seevice Love that place
The food was great and the service was even better!
Food and service was excellent
We happened to have a table by the kitchen door/ walkway so our ambiance was not the best. The food was delicious. The price was fair. The service was good. All in all it was a great experience. Our first time dining there and I would return.
Ian, our server, was very professional and personable. The food was delicious however, it was very slow to come out of the kitchen. I would dine there again!
Chops only drawback is the parking situation in Virginia Beach. Be careful when you park on the street.
This is a nice restaurant about 2 blocks off the oceanfront in Virginia Beach. They honored my reservation and we were seated quickly and on time. It was 6PM on. Friday night and not overly crowded. The decor was nice and comfortable. The menu was not overly extensive and pricing was a little upscale. The server was attentive and not overbearing. Food was very good. We had the salmon and the swordfish special that were cooked perfectly, moist and flavorful. They offer a pri fix menu of 3 courses for $39.95. The concerns we had were that we had a 3 course meal and were in and out under an hour. The menu prices on the internet were different(lower) than on the menu. There was an offering on the menu for a $30 bottle of wine ( a Chardonnay or Cabernet) with what appeared to be the pri fix menu. I asked the waiter about it and he said he could offer a bottle but not for the $30 price. We ordered glasses of wine from a pretty extensive by the glass offerings. The last few items are what affected our not recommend comment.
Restaurant was very nice. Food was delicious and our server was very nice and efficient.
My 23rd anniversary dinner with friends. I planned on a steak and planned to spend a lot. My friends and my wife chose the meal set which included a steak, therefore I chose that as well. We had the blood orange cosmo which was very good. The steak was just like i like both taste and prepared. Our server Grady was excellent. We were well taken care of. We will be back
Delicious food & great service! Highly recommend!!!!
We enjoyed our first visit to Chops and will definitely dine there again on the next visit to Virginia Beach. The service and food were excellent!
Every aspect of the food was cooked to perfection. The staff and restaurant were impeccably turned out and the servers were friendly and attentive throughout.
Not the cheapest food, but for a high end dining experience it was very good value for money
The food was very good and our server was awesome, however, I asked for a Medium Well steak and sent it back TWICE and half of the steak still came back VERY red in the middle. The manager came over and said I must want my steak well done and was a little condescending. They gave our party of five free Lemoncello at the end of the meal, but for the price we all paid, I just expected better service on the Manager’s part.
Excellent food and wonderful service. Lovely Easter lunch! Highly recommend Chops!
Absolutely amazing!! Food was best I’ve ever had anywhere and service was exceptional!
The food was delicious and the service was excellent. We have eaten at Chops many times and have never been disappointed.
We stopped in Virginia Beach on our way home from a vacation in South Carolina. Chops was so delicious. I ordered the 6 oz filet "oscar style" (the added crab, hollandaise and chopped asparagus was a great touch). My husband got the grilled sirloin with a side of asparagus. Everything was seasoned perfectly and both steaks were so tender. Great cocktails, too. I recommend trying Gaston's Manhattan.
Our server (Becca, I think- sorry if I'm wrong!) was attentive and made sure our drinks were always full, but was not at all overbearing. Gaston was also great- made us feel very welcome. Perfect night for outside dining! Will definitely stop back if we are ever in the area again!
Excellent food and service. I would suggest that if bacon is part of a meal, it should be stated on the menu so those of us who don’t eat pork can avoid that particular dish or side.
Me and my daughter had an amazing time here. She had jumbo shrimp for an appetizer, pork chop, mashed potatoes, and Brussel sprouts for dinner, and New York cheesecake for dessert. The waiters were friendly and assisted us very well, and they gave us fancy glasses for our drinks. I really liked the energetic and cheerful atmosphere, and the kind and lively staff. All the food was amazing, and we both loved it here.
Nice atmosphere; attentive service. Try the Chops salad - best I've tasted!
Great dining experience! Excellent food! We were celebrating my girlfriends birthday and they surprised her with her favorite dessert - will definitely return!
This was a great experience from the entry to the departure. Our waiter was the absolute truth. He took his job very serious and was “GREAT” at it. I’m assuming he was the owner, but he came up to our table and joked around with my wife and I. He called us by name and asked how was the food. I really enjoyed this place and if we were going to be in Virginia longer, we would definitely return.
Rockfish was delicious. I ordered the 3 course for 35$. My husband ordered the 12oz filet. He really enjoyed his as well. The chocolate mousse cake was the best. Would definitely recommend eating here. Service was Terrific.
I had heard great things about Chops and was looking for somewhere to go for a nice, intimate dinner. The food was fantastic. Our waitress was not at all intrusive, checking on us just often enough to make sure we always had what we needed yet never felt rushed. The drinks were great. And the overall experience was perfect for a special dinner out.
Outstanding food selection and equal outstanding service.
The moment we walked in the door we were greeted by a huge smile and a very genuine welcome from the maitre d'. We had reservations and were immediately seated at an amazing table by the window. The team of wait staff went into quick action filling water glasses, providing a bread basket and taking our drink orders. Our waitress recommended a Pinot Noir and it was the best glass of wine I've had. The service was top notch and personal and the food matched it. I love the feel of the place and I know I could spend many weekend nights just hanging out at the bar with friends. I'm confident we just found our new favorite place!
First time eating there and it was a rainy Friday Night. Crowd was off and there was more wait staff than customers. Great meal and great service from Grady!
My husbands birthday
The restaurant is very very very loud. As long as you are sat in the back of the restaurant and not looking for a quite evening out you should be okay at this restaurant. Food is good, service also good. But both you would expect in this price range of restaurant.
The food was very good, and they were very accommodating to change the steak size on the specials.
My group of 4 visited the last night of Restaurant Week (Sunday). Our server, Brenda, was prompt and very knowledgeable. She even told us the Petit Filet was very petit! 2 from our party had the pork chop and said it was cooked properly and enjoyed it. My wife's short ribs consisted of 2 bones with the meat between them, effectively 1 rib. Presented nicely, but left her wondering "where's the beef!" I had the swordfish which while tasty, should have been labeled "petit" also. I doubt if it was over 3 oz. Deserts were good. Perhaps I'm wrong, but I thought the main purpose of Restaurant Week was to attract customers who do not normally frequent a particular restaurant by showcasing the food while giving an unusual value. I guess not anymore.
We visited Chops during restaurant week. We ordered off of the special menu. Appetizer and dessert were very good, but the petite filet was very petite and not very flavorful. Tender but kinda tasteless?! Anyway, I would definitely return for a regular meal
We went for restaurant week. We had the shrimp for the starter. They were very lightly battered, large and delicious. For the main course we had the petite filet, it was perfectly prepared and was served with mashed potatoes and green beans. For dessert we chose the cheesecake. Everything was excellent! Our server was exceptional and made the evening even more enjoyable. Will definitely go again.
If I could give you six stars, I would have. The experience was wonderful, the food was outstanding, and the service was first class. For what you get at Chops I thought the value was very reasonable. We plan to return!
The service at Chops was amazing! They took our costs, our wine glasses were never empty, every staff member checked on us and the food was perfect! Great first experience during restaurant week!!
