Chops Lobster Bar - Boca Raton Ratings and Reviews
We chose Chops for our son's 22nd birthday celebration because we've had such great meals there previously. Once again, we weren't disappointed. The specials are always creative and appetizing. As usual, the appetizer (tuna tartare) the entrees (my husband and son had the Kansas city steaks, I had the mushroom stuffed chicken) and desserts were delicious and prepared perfectly. I can't say enough good things about the food and service here. It's our favorite restaurant in South Florida.
We had a 8:00pm reservation for dinner for 4. Upon arriving the host advised us that he had tables lingering over dessert and that we would be seated shortly. 15 minutes in he asked if he could please buy us a drink on the house at the bar. He was extremely apologetic. We were seated 15 minutes later. Although we had to wait 30 minutes for our table the host kept us constantly informed and did the right thing and bought us a drink while we waited. Saturday night in Florida in Season can be very tricky so no surprise there. The food and service was excellent. Well worth the wait.
Excellent from start to finish. Wine by the glass and other spirits are served well. From the front of the house to the waitstaff , the attentiveness is par excellance. The food is always top notch. Main dishes prepared exactly as ordered......the first try.
We eat here often and never had such slow service, over three hours for our dinner on Sunday night. AND, they were out of the wine I wanted as well as baked potatoes. This is not the Chops I am used to going to, something is off.
Came here to celebrate my birthday with a large group. I ordered a Bone-in filet, medium and a baked potato. I received a well done steak, visually displeasing and unappetizing. I sliced a bite, and could not believe that a top-rated steak establishment would serve something with zero flavor, taste and leather-like texture.
When my new steak was brought, I did not receive a new baked potato, as the previous one sat on the table, and was of course cold.
Lastly, entrees were cleared and dessert and coffee ordered. The coffee was poured, which was already cold, and we waited 20 minutes for dessert to come. We asked for new coffee, which still wasn't hot.
While we received numerous apologies for all of the errors, the food quality is not up to par, and has deteriorated, the waiters and servers for front of the house are not paying attention to the details.
We won't be going back.
Excellent menu for seafood. The service is always superior. The ambiance is warm, and romantic. Great for a party of two or 20. I would highly recommend the lobster stuffed lobster, and the banana cream pie for dessert . Martinis are the best. Great for a special occasion.
This was my third visit to Chops. Each visit seems to be better than the last. We were a party of 7 people and our waiter managed us perfectly. We shared a seafood tower as an appetizer. It was loaded with crab legs, shrimp, clams, oysters etc. Delicious and fresh. Each of our meals were cooked to perfection, the presentation was perfect and we had plenty of sides to share. I can't recommend this restaurant enough. It was absolutely the best meal we had during our visit. We can't wait to go back again
I'm a fan of all of The Buckhead Group's restaurants. My dinner and my business guests dinner were over salted which took away from the wonderful texture and quality of the filet mignon, organic mushrooms, Lyonnais potatoes and creamed spinach. I love your food's flavors and was surprised that the chef's in the back hid them by using so much salt.
Smallest amount of meat on a porterhouse steak with the bone making up the weight that I’ve ever had. Chocolate on the lava cake was bitter and the raspberries were past their prime. Noise level made conversation very difficult for a party of 4 at a square table.
Went there for an anniversary dinner. Very, very disappointing! Although we shared our salad and main course (because it is a lot of food) we had pre-dinner drinks, individual appetizers, a nice bottle of wine and after dinner drinks. I guess our $365 dollar tab was just too small for this place to care.
The steak was thrown on a white plate by itself, not so much as even a garnish. It was plopped down in front of us like we had asked them to go next door and get us a McDonalds burger. Even though they brag about their 1700 degree preparation the steak was stone cold.
They did give us a free desert for our anniversary I guess that is something. We have been to this location several times in the past, but based on this experience I doubt we go back.
My husband and I have been here several times with different couples and always had a special night. We love the atmosphere, the food is outstanding, wine list by the glass is very extensive, we have lots of favorites, the flashed fried lobster for one.
We were there on Saturday this weekend for a special birthday, only reservation available was for 6:45, which you would think they would rush us to turn the table but they did not...the waitstaff was very attentive, music was great, we were there til 11 and all 4 of us had a wonderful time!
Had dinner here many times. Food, drinks and service excellent. Food came out fast on a busy night. Valet parking is prompt but not preferred. Live music very good. This place is pricey but you get what you pay for. Monroe (Manager) is very professional and accommodating. I wanted a booth and he promptly had one cleaned for us. He went out of his way to say “happy birthday”. I will be back for sure.
This is our 4th time here. This meal never disappoints. The flash fried lobster tail appetizer is amazing and our steaks were cooked perfectly. I highly recommend the lobster mac n cheese. We did the $54 menu and added the lobster appetizer. The cheesecake is amazing as well. This is a must every time we go to Boca.
very disappointed. was 15 minutes early, atleast 6 tables were empty and we weren't seated until our assigned time and passed the empty tables. They put my party of three at a table for six...took ten minutes for the waitress to come over, another 20 for our drinks and water....we received our appetizers 45 minutes after ordering only because the waitress dropped glasses that broke and the glass shattered by my feet and a manager came by to see if i was ok and if i needed anything and i said i needed my appetizers. The main course came and the medium and medium rare filets were medium well and medium well and my 16 ounce n strip that i ordered medium was burnt and looked like no strip i ever saw before. It was my daughters birthday and i was really disappointed...if u want a good steak restaurant in boca go to ny prime or abe and louies...it was not worth the money.
