Chops Lobster Bar Ratings and Reviews
Still on of the best spots in Atlanta. Food and ambiance were great. My only issue with this experience was the service. Our waiter disappeared for awhile at a critical time during our meal, and we had empty glasses and wanted to order more sides. I had to call over the host to find him. Maybe he had too many tables or some other issue, but that really had an impact on our overall experience.
I was here for my best friend’s bachelorette party. Our server was rude and you could tell he did not want to serve us the entire time. He would walk away when I wasn’t finished ordering and was incredibly short with us for the duration of dinner. The food here is mediocre at best. Combine that with the terrible service and stuffy old school atmosphere...I will not recommend this place to anyone. There are much more fun and inclusive places in Atlanta with great dishes. Don’t judge a book by its cover boys, just because we were dressed up for a fun bachelorette party night doesn’t mean I’ll blink at the bill when it comes out. We were there to spend money and treated like trash. We ordered multiple rounds of drinks, apps and entrees at the table only to be greeted with complete disdain. It’s pretty shameful this is considered one of the best places in Atlanta. I’ve had better service and food at a TGI Friday’s. I also watched the really sweet hostess get screamed at for 15 minutes while a manager never showed up to tell a guest to calm down. This place overpromises and under-delivers in every sense. Go here if you have more money than sense, because you definitely aren’t going for the service or food.
Our experience at Chops was absolutely amazing from the time we walked into the door. Exceptional service and staff. The food was phenomenal. The bone-in filet is where it is at! My husband and I dined in there Friday night for a special date night. Thank you for the awesome memory.
First time at Chops and I must say I was very impressed. Valet service was good. Once you enter the hostess and waiters greet you by name. They have me the option to sit upstairs or downstairs. We were celebrating a birthday and they ensured we had an experience to remember.
The food is not all that ! If you go here get the Fried Lobster, corn mash and desert otherwise you wasting your money and your taste buds will be highly disappointed. That’s all I got.
Oh yeah and there was an insect with wings in my drink . No they didn’t comp it. Management never came over to even acknowledge it.
We had a late reservation for my husband's birthday. I was afraid they may be sold out of some items but happily they were not. Crab cocktails are always amazing. I wanted stone crabs but at $26 a claw I passed. I can wait until we get to Florida for those. I will however get lobster next time because the plates going by with lobster looked amazing. Very friendly staff especially for a high end restaurant. No attitude like the company restaurant above.
third time @Chops or Lobster bar.
The Kobe beef was the worst quality I’ve had.
The lobster was chewy and over cooked. The Honk Kong sea bass was very boring.
The hot spinach salad with mushrooms was fantastic.
It is a nice place but the food is nothing above average
I was really disappointed at my dish. I ordered the lamb chops and only received 2 really small peices and 2 bones. Out of all the restaurants I picked this place because of my last experience with the same dish. For this dish to be $45 and only had 2 small bites, made me not happy. The gentleman at the front desk check in said he can't take it off but can take off my 1 drink. I will not be returning.
Service and feel was great, however, when you spend 200+ dollars on 2 people, you would think that all food and drinks would be top notch. Unfortunately not so, most of the food was amazing , but the mojito was borderline bad, the signature dessert( banana cream pie) didn't live up to expectations(very little flavor), and the vanilla ice cream was actually terrible. On the positive side, steak was perfect, crab cakes were next level, and sides we out of this world. Would go again, if ever in Atlanta, now that I know what not to get :)
I was totally disappointment with my first visit to Chop’s. We had an 8:30 Reservation. We did not get seated until 9:10. Once we were seated the table and seating were too small.
The waiters did not come back to take our order. We had to flag down another waiter to take our order. The food was average. The service was poor. I think Service training is needed. You guys missed the mark.
It was incredible. Always great fried Lobster morsels, but I got the peppered filet....wow!!! It was cooked perfectly and the flavor was amazing!!! Even after all the fabulous food....from the time we walked in to the time we left....the staff and service was impeccable. Couldn’t have asked for a more enjoyable anniversary dinner for my wife and myself.
Unfortunately there was a problem with my order and I explained the problem to the assistant manager and he became very rude and told me that I am the issue and that I should have read the menu correctly. He raised his voice very rudely in front of other customers toward me. He never apologized and I asked for the General Manager and he declined to get the manager for me. As a customer it's very disappointing to spend a generous amount of money at an upscale restaurant and to be treated horribly.
