Chops Ratings and Reviews
Table behind us was extremely loud, food was alright and took forever to get a check to end the evening. Last experience was great, this one not so much. Been eating good steaks lately in TX, so might be over critical of bone in ribeye ordered here. We might give them another chance another day.
Chops was an absolute pleasure. I added to my reservation that I was celebrating an anniversary with my wife and they went above and beyond just to celebrate with us. The food was definitely above average and the wait staff was very very friendly and accommodating.
I've dined at Chops enough times to know the service was uncharacteristically "fair". My dining companion was late arriving and I was left to my own devices for about 10 minutes before the waiter asked if I wanted a cocktail. After that was delivered I was left alone for about another 20 minutes until my companion arrived. We were not offered the specials but abruptly asked what we wanted to order. Oddly enough the table beside us with party of three was treated to numerous visits and fawning by the waiter we shared. Our service was largely left to the secondary waiter, who was attentive, brought the meal and later suggested dessert, which we ordered. Too bad we could not have left the tip for the waiter who actually SERVED us.
An experience, not just a dinner. Sure, its probably going to be some of the best food you've ever tasted, hands down.. but the scene, the decor the ambiance, welcoming environment and classiness that brims from everyone who works here will make you understand what it is to live in the moment and appreciate that good food is a delicacy that deserves respect. Incredibly attentive staf, that will show they can adapt very well to guest needs, (including personalities like myself) makes me want to thank everyone and yearn for my next occasion to come back, despite the fact that it is not a place I can afford to go to everyday. Absolutely fantastic.
Our experience was top-notch in every possible way. We were given a great table after we first were shown a table in a back corner, and asked if anything else was available. The hostess was very accommodating and did not act annoyed at that request. Our server(s) were the best ever: good suggestions all around. We don't drink, but the waiter didn't seem to mind, even though that obviously meant a smaller bill and thus a smaller tip. Everyone on the staff was knowledgeable and gracious. We had dined at Chops several times previously and always have been able to give it "five stars."
We were celebrating our 33rd wedding anniversary. Everyone was very gracious. Our meal was delicious. Even though my salmon was a little under cooked for my liking , my husband's was perfect. I still enjoyed my meal. The presentation was impressive. Our bread pudding muffin a la mode was delicious. Thanks for making our celebration SPECIAL. We choose the right place.
Our first visit to Chops. Amazing food, great staff and ambiance. Wine list was great but we brought our own.. corkage only 15 per bottle. Food was outstanding, probably the best steak I've had. We have several staff members taking care of us.. our head waiter could have been just a little more friendly. We will keep this one on our list.
We go there fairly frequently and it never disappoints. The food is absolutely delicious and the service impeccable. Very much enjoy the Art Deco interior. We were a party of three and we all had the fillet mignon on a nest of onion ring and a wedge of salad with blue cheese dressing that was superbly cooked.
Food was mediocre at best, a few items were under seasoned/ luke warm. The best dish that my husband and I enjoyed were the lobster morsels that we chose for our appetizer, but the portion size was not as described. The menu stated it served 2-3, but yet we only had 5 pieces of lobster chunks. Some employees that were in the kitchen did not have on gloves and plated food with their bare hands while simultaneously using their cell phones. One of the servers came around with a plate of forks that he had picked up from tables that he assumed people weren't using and I was the lucky person to be gifted with a dirty fork. I asked for a replacement and he proceeded to place the dirty fork back on the plate and continue on as before, I was perplexed. I expected much more from my $250 dining experience. I will stick to capital Grille or Ruth Chris.
Probably my favorite of the Buckhead Life restaurants. Great, attentive bartenders, friendly and accommodating wait staff. Food has always been top notch and satisfying. All-in-all, a great restaurant for business dinners or casual get togethers with a decent overall value.
We went to Chops on a dinner date and were seated fast but in a very noisy area towards the front. Apps were very tasty, but the entrees were less than desirable. My wife ordered the Grouper and was left disappointed since it turned out very bland & over-cooked. My filet was just okay. Dessert was excellent though. The wine had cork debris in it both times, which the server could easily see, but didn't care to look. He seemed very put-off and unfriendly or just didn't want to be there. Unfortunately, we are giving Chops a lower rating this time considering the amount we spent and the value we received. Hope the quality goes up. It used to be a good place, but food & service have degraded. Look elsewhere for a dinner date, but go for happy hour or business meals.
The signature lobster tail is a must try. Cocktails were ok. The steaks were ok as well. Ordered their special mixed greens with artichoke and tomatoes with goat cheese and it could feed about 2-3ppl on the lighter side if you’re ordering more entrees. But overall, food was ok but ambience and service were impeccable.
Chops historically has a good reputation and while it was fine, I can't say it was more special than other steak restaurants in the area. I didn't think my steak was anything exceptional. Others in the party liked theirs better. The lobster bisque was very good. One interesting note, there were several servers attending and service was prompt but very stiff and not engaging. A couple of times I felt they were impatient that we didn't know exactly what we wanted and they just wanted to get the order. Think there are other better choices in this price range.
Food and service in the restaurant is top notch as always. Not pleased with the valet. I asked for a cab and was told the black Towncar was “their cab”. $90 for a 5 minute ride back to the hotel? I hope the valet got a nice cut. (Taxi there was $20). Probably won’t be back.
