Everything was awesome! We will sure be coming back again.....
There is a dress code enforced- they need to make note of that on their reservation page. We were dressed casually and we’re frustrated to learn that they enforced a dress code upon our arrival. Luckily we were able to find an open space at the bar. However if those seats weren’t available, I think my experience would’ve been quite different. Food was good - I highly recommend the fried lobster tail ( sounds weird I know but it was excellent ) and the shrimp appetizer. Drinks were just OK, pretty standard offerings (Manhattan , martini, wine and beer). Bottom line: Come here for the food but dress to impress.
Excellent experience! Dessert was on point as well.
Anniversary. Come here every year. The lobster bisque is incredible.
Chops was simply wonderful! Everything was superb!
Expensive but worth it! For my wife's birthday we decided to live it up at Chops and we were not disappointed. As is their custom, they greeted us at the door with an immediate "Happy Birthday" to my wife and took us to our table. Everything on the menu is a la carte and very pricey. But one expects this at such a place. I had the small filet mignon and my wife had a 3-pound lobster, which she says is the finest lobster she's ever had. For appetizers I had the escargots and she had the foie gras. Both were amazing! We were treated to a complimentary desert in honor of her special day. The service was impeccable, the food was perfection, and the only "jolt" of the evening was receiving the check. I've never paid so much for a meal in my life but I have no regrets. With everything about this place reeking of Five Stars, a hefty bottom line should be expected. So if you are looking for a very special event, look no further than Chops. But be prepared to mortgage the house!
Food was fantastic, as was the service. Our server took very good care of us from the moment we sat down until the moment we left (even after we had paid our bill). Kudos to the Chops for being such a pillar in the Atlanta area.
Trusted Atlanta staple. Good food. Good atmosphere. Great anytime.
I had dined at Chops 3 times over the years, always the guest of businesses. My wife joined me in retirement a few weeks ago and I chose Chops to celebrate with close friends. From acquiring reservations through dessert, which I usually do not order, everything was absolutely superb. Our orders varied and each person complimented me and profusely thanked me for the choice of restaurants. Our wait staff was very attentive and personable, and I could not have asked more of them. The noise level was just lively enough to permit easy across table conversation without being a staid ambience. The only ding I will mention was my Long Island Iced Tea, my cocktail of choice, which was not bad, but not as good as I recalled from my last visit. I had my "go to" lump crab cakes, a soft ball sized baked potato wit chives and sour cream, brussels sprouts leaves with mushrooms and finally a "brick" of cheesecake with apricot sauce and strawberries. It was "da bomb". After dining, we remained talking for quite some time, but were never made to feel we were "loitering." We'll be back!
Chops was great from top to bottom. We were running behind on our reservation and they were able to accommodate us rather quickly. The food was outstanding as usual. Very prompt, helpful and knowledgeable service, we had a couple specials that was recommended. Great experience, 5Star
Loved it. Food and service was excellent. We were seated promptly even after not being able to find our reservations.
Amazing meal. Went for a special occasion and we were not disappointed. Classic steakhouse service in Atlanta - very nice venue. Expensive but worth every penny.
High end restaurants are notorious for being pretty and having great service but the food is subpar. Chops is not one of these places. The whole experience is magical and the food is absolutely worth every penny! The prices are very expensive though, and even a $100 steak is still just one steak, so I feel that detracts from the experience a little bit for most people. Also, the room we were in filled up quickly for a Wednesday night and it became quite loud which is something that you really do NOT want for a restaurant like this one. Having said all that, Chops is a wonderful place and I highly recommend it!
My steak was very well prepared. My wife enjoyed her Sea Bass as well.
Had the wagyu beef steak, it was not as good as I last had it a couple years ago. Service and ambiance was good as always.
This is a great place to eat and the food is great and I loving eating the crab cakes!!! They are a must we got a 3 lbs lobster and it was great
The restaurant is beautiful inside. The service was simply great! It was my son’s 22nd birthday and he enjoyed every second of it. The food was delicious and hot (temperature wise). We all were very well taken care of by the staff. Thank you!
Great times as always at Chops. Highly recommend it for dinner date, family outings, special occasions.
Our waiter Stephen was outstanding!
As always the food was terrific and service excellent. Kalik did an excellent job. We have always had great experiences at Chops and will certainly dine there again.
It was just terrific, could not have been better...overall great experience
Perfect night out and dinner.
My family and I were excited to eat at Chops as it was close by to where my parents had just moved, and as it was my birthday.
I was impressed once we entered the establishment by the ambiance and somewhat Art Deco feel of the restaurant. We were immediately taken care of by an amicable and charismatic waiter (I'm sorry that I don't remember his name, but know my parents do for future visits!), and ordered right away.
We started off with appetizers, my mother enjoying a lovely NY strip beef carpaccio and my father a foie gras platter. I myself enjoyed a blue cheese salad that is served at steak restaurants. The bread basket contained a nice selection of breads - steak restaurants must have good bread!
The main events for the table were my mother's 2 pound lobster (she specifically requested the smallest one they had), and a hefty tomahawk ribeye that my father and I shared. Cooked medium rare and placed at an angle so that the hot plate would not scorch the tablecloth and so the meat laid to soak in its precious juices while we ate. The sides we ordered were the garlic whipped potatoes, creamed spinach, and the sauteed mushrooms and brussels sprouts.
Once the plates were cleared, I was wished a happy birthday with a lovely chocolate ganache. We ordered coffee and a bread pudding to finish off the night.
I am appreciative of the fact that my father brought a bottle of wine and that we were not charged a corkage fee. What a nice birthday present! While I no longer live in Georgia, I will badger my parents to take me to Chops when I come visit them again.
I was extremely upset that I made a reservation at the Lobster Bar and I showed up and it was closed. At that point I could not change my reservation... so needless to say I felt that I was taken advantage of and had to eat upstairs. I know that that is a great restaurant... but I wanted the Lobster Bar. I feel that I was misled.
Needs to make some updates. Bread was cold. Lobster bisque was overly thick with large (not bite-sized) tough claw morsels thrown in bowl. Plating was subpar. Tuna used to be a “steak” now thin slices (no more than 8) with a huge serving of mashed potatoes...more potatoes than tuna. Leftovers from meal were packed incompletely leaving us with less of the dishes than we had at the table. Valet was eating as we were leaving and failed to open the door for all in our party - you’d expect more with a parking fee in addition to gratuity. Unfortunately, a once beloved restaurant of our family is now skating by primarily on their previous reputation. I truly expected more. Positive note: the Dover Sole was delicious & the stand out meal at our table.
The service was excellent. I had a guest that I was waiting for and the the front staff sat me immediately at the bar until my guest came. The bartender was excellent even though I had to leave after a moment's notice because my guest arrived. The waiter immediately gave me a run down of specials for dinner as did the bartender beforehand. The food we ordered was brought out immediately. It was delicious. The only downside was that after receiving the check for the meal, the waiter never came back and saw that everything was okay at the end. Overall it was a great experience and I will definitely be coming back.
My daughter had a wonderful time it was after Prom. Her and her friends had a great experience
I love chops and the lobster bar...service is always on point. Went for lunch and service was great...but the food was just OK. I ordered the flash fried shrimp and scallops and it was not as great as others items I have tried. Will not prevent me from returning.
Both of our steaks were very salty
Fabulous service and food! Every time we eat here we get excited about coming back.
Two words, crab cakes
Took my wife with another couple for my wife’s birthday. The food was very good and the service was excellent. We spent the night at the St Regis Hotel right next door so it made for a great occasion.
Great place to meet with friends and enjoy a great steak.
Very nice, the food was cooked perfectly
Great meal! Great service! Great time! One of our favorite places to dine in Atlanta.
Service is superb - an Atlanta classic that always delivers.
I really enjoyed this place, its perfect
The calamari was terrible. It was mostly batter. We could barely taste the fish. For $17, you would expect a lot more. The food could have been hotter. Plates were left on our table a lot longer than needed. Waiter was very nice, drinks stayed filled. I got the halibut special they had that day and honesty just didn’t taste like a $42 meal. Just expected more.
Celebrating a house closing.
Chops Lobster Bar is always a delightful experience. The ambiance is wonderful, the service impeccable, and the food consistently excellent! The Dover Sole was spectacular!
Anniversary dinner. Good service and awesome food, ambience was excellent. Course the steak is good can’t be beat by many places.
