Good food and amazing service from Kim and the maitre. Price is overrated. Too much for the food, even though it's really good. Recommend the Veal Gnocci. Really great.
We drove for just under 40 minutes, just to try something new, after I saw some good reviews. Chopps is a gem! Our first-time visit and the food was excellent. Very good value for the higher-end quality of the meal, i.e. 8oz filet was $41 and came with a side of delicious mashed potatoes, AND a sauce of your choice. I substituted asparagus for $2 and got béarnaise. It was fabulous. Crab cakes were delightful and the creme brulee was perfect.
The decor definitely reminds you that you're in a hotel. It's a little dated, and some white table cloths for dinner might be a nice touch, but it's not terrible and the lighting is low, so you may not mind. The dining room did have a cool huge skylight that was nice, we could hear the rain pattering lightly. If you're staying in the hotel, definitely give Chopps a chance, you don't have to bother leaving to get a nice meal.
Our server, Michael, clearly cared about our experience by providing us with very detailed recommendations and incredibly attentive service, with a few corny jokes thrown in. You can tell he puts a lot of thought into how he sells food. That may not be for everyone, but he made our experience light-hearted and fun! Will be back.
Overall an above average to great steak house. Kind of a hidden gem, located in the Marriott Hotel. The lounge was comfortable, service was good. The chowder was fantastic. The steak frites was fantastic, cooked very well. A little $$, but overall very good.
I’ll start by saying this, we were seated promptly we had bread and water promptly. That’s the good. We had to ask three different servers for butter and plates. We did not have the typical dinner memo or the New Years menu, instead we had the lunch menus on our table. We asked for a dinner menu and received the New Years menu. Why weren’t we offer the typical dinner menu? We proceeded to order two appetizers which we only received one. Server never wrote other appetizer down. We were given three meatballs due to the long wait for the entree’s. As were about to enjoy them, the waiter quickly removed them off the table and said they weren’t for us and removed them. We ordered from the New Years menu as we were not even asked if we wanted the typical dinner menu. Entree’s were mediocre at best, I never ordered onion straws but they came with our entree’s The manger never walked around to ask how everything was. The server then proceeded to tell us his life story for the remainder of our night. Waiter asked if we were ready for dessert when we hadn’t ate half our dinner. We decided not to order dessert. The waiter then took it on his own to bring us two small chocolate balls with cinnamon coating and to top it off, the waiter brought us a to go container of peanut butter. This was by far the worst New Years dinner we have ever had. I personally do not think this restaurant was ready for this type of evening. All the wait staff seems to be running around and not getting any properly done. Obviously we will not return. I just hope no one else ever has to endure this type of experience at this restaurant..
We waited an hour for our meal, our waters never got refilled. We split a bottle of wine and then our waiter never came back to offer another beverage or dessert after our meal. A different waiter had to get us our check and box our food. Will never eat here again
Our dinner was part of the New Year’s Eve package. The salad, entree and desert were wonderfully done and the drinks were quite good. The service was good except That the shrimp cocktail that we ordered was not delivered. The noise level was not so high that we could not have a conversation without raising our voices. We also attended the buffet breakfast in the morning and were thoroughly pleased.
Food came out cold. Waiter had to many tables.
I realize that it was New Year’s Eve, however the waitress was not friendly and the food was not ver good
Our family dined here on Christmas day and had a wonderful dinner. The food was very good and the service was excellent. Very few choices on Christmas and I'm happy I found Chopps to be open. We'll be back.
The food and service was excellent. My only complaint was we were seated under a very bright light whilst the rest of the restaurant seemed quite dim. When I asked the server if we could do him that light, she asked and they said no. I’m kind of wishing we had moved our table because it was annoying. Everything else was spectacular though.
We had the most wonderful evening. The service was excellent and the food was delicious. Great place for a special night out.
Chops in the Marriott Burlington is worth as visit. Although it is known as a steak house, both me and my business partner ordered the salmon. It was cooked perfectly and the presentation was lovely. The bib blue cheese salad was fresh and had all the right flavor notes. The dessert was a chocolate ganache torte was outstanding. The service was impeccable--engaged and knowledgeable about the menu.
Nice quiet dinner with my wife.
I personally thought that my veal chop was more medium rare then medium.
My wife's seafood was a little bit salty which I think was from the chorizo but altogether I thought it was fine.
I thought our server Michael was fantastic and very tentative checking multiple times without being intrusive
The food was not very good. The mashed potatoes lack flavor and the blue cheese wedge salad did not taste like blue cheese. You need to rethink your sides and pork chop as well as the overall menu.
Thanksgiving Day and lots of choices, excellent service, took us on time and food was good! Would go again!
It was last minute to find a reservation for 4 on Thanksgiving. Most restaurants were booked. In searching the internet, I came across OpenTable. They should the restaurants that were available and you could chose the time when you wanted to eat dinner. I found it so easy. Chops is a nice restaurant with great food. I highly recommend both OpenTable and Chops for dinner.
Staff was great. Food was good. Reasonable value for hotel restaurant. Had baby wedge salad which was small
And Delmonico steak which had very good flavor.
Nice atmosphere and able to watch games on multiple screens.
Looks just like Boston Chops. Parking is certainly easier than being in Boston. We went for lunch. Price is what you would expect from Chops. The waiter was a bit chatty but pleasant. There is a weekend brunch I would try.
very disappointed the halibut and polenta were bland gnocchi was cold only 1 waitress to handle 8 tables with 1 outdoors. Have been here over the years but things have changed and not for the better
Food is outstanding! Will continue to dine there when in the Boston area.
My wife and I eat breakfast at Chopps quite often because of the relaxed atmosphere, good food, Starbucks coffee, and excellent servers, and when we have dinner there we're never disappointed - this isn't generic hotel food, it's really first rate. The extra thick bacon appetizer has a maple glaze and was a perfect start to the meal. My bolognese was outstanding and my wife's short ribs were excellent, and the portions large enough that we took home enough for a second dinner that weekend. The wine list has a lot of good choices without being extravagant. I'd highly recommend Chopps to anyone looking for a great dinner at reasonable prices.
We have dined at the restaurant several times and it was a wonderful experience. Last night was awful! The server was obnoxious and continued to engage in poor humor and attempting to be part of our conversation. He went as far as sharing his personal medical issues and the pt group he goes to.
We have had both the starters and entrees before and the were delicious. Last night both starters were salty and the polenta was soggy, not crispy. The mushrooms were also requested to be on the side and this did not happen. The steak was over cooked and one of the accompaniments was missing and had to be retrieved. The accompaniments of the other entree were cold. The protein was left for me on the bread plate and entree plate with the cold sides taken away by a different server. New over cooked sides were delivered after I was finished with the entree. Dessert was delivered without us ordering it as we preferred to take it to go. I am also lactose intolerant and not able to eat ice cream. Dessert was delivered to the table with ice cream on the upside down cake. Needless to say, I couldn’t eat it. I brought it home to my child. Upon looking at the menu to see what the dessert was supposed to be, my spouse noted it was supposed to be served with gelato. It definitely was not gelato.
Overall, a very disappointing experience.
Had a wonderful dinner at Chopps with my husband. We sat outside on the deck and it was beautiful out there! Food was delicious and the dessert so tasty!!
The staff was very accommodating and were very friendly and hospitable. The outdoor patio is amazing. Great way to spend the evening.
A hidden gem! We came here on a gift certificate for an overnight stay at the Marriott in Burlington with dinner for two at Chopps. We were thoroughly impressed with the service and the quality of the food. Crab cakes were exceptional - made entirely of fresh crabmeat and perfectly baked. Steaks were delicious with the butter mix, so good that I didn’t really need to use the accompanying steak sauces. We definitely plan on returning, especially for those crab cakes!
My family and I eat at the restaurant several times a year, and it's usually a good value compared to "higher end" steakhouses like Capital Grille, Abe but our most recent experience was relatively poor. Despite the restaurant and lounge being not very busy on a Thursday night at 6PM, service was slow and "quirky" with odd comments about a former employer and "Rich Man's disease." The Veal Porterhouse Chop was thin, overcooked (I ordered medium rare and got medium well), and dry. The Petite Filet my son ordered medium rare was past medium. If the service hadn't been slow slow and strange, I might have called attention to the food problems with the waiter, but by this time I was just looking forward to getting the check and getting out, and even that took longer than it should have.
I’ve always looked forward to dining at Chopps. I was very disappointed this time. My steak was overdone, and it took 20 minutes to get another one. Our waitress very nicely offer me a salad while I waited. Then, I had to wait 10-15 minutes for a glass of wine while steak got cold. They are clearly understaffed. There weren’t many people dining there, yet there were long waits. And the prices have increased. Sad to say, I’m not sure I’ll go back.
Dinner with friends. Good food, service was fine. A little pricey for a suburban restaurant in a hotel lobby.
Open Table reservation for 11:30am on Mother’s day, except Chopp closed @ 11:30am.Diappointing.
Wonderful experience. Server was outstanding and attentive.
Good food, prepared for my guest who has special restrictions. Table next to us had a large party seated after us who were a bit loud which was beyond the control of the hostess. Overall, very good.
Incredibly delicious food. Superior service and a lovely quiet setting.
Good concept. Good atmosphere. Surprisingly good food with great service.
Service wasn’t great. Food was ok. I liked the setting but I don’t know that I’ll go back.
Great meal later on a Sunday night. The bacon appetizer is a must.
For a Hotel location the food was surprisingly good. We had the steak. Great quality and cooked perfect. For appetizers we had the Crab Cakes and Shrimp Cocktail. There was a function in the hotel. Lots of kids. We asked for a quiet table which they accommodated. 20 minutes laters, they filled a table next to us with about 12-15 kids. They were well behaved but loud. We didn’t say anything and assumed they would move our table to a more quite table considering we were having a $300 meal. They did not. However, to our surprise, they compted our appetizers for the inconvenience without being asked. That made up for the noise. The waitress was great. Overall, we will go back - when there is not a function......
pleased with the menu not just steak. I had the fish and it was delicious. The room was nice. Our server was attentive. Everything was great. I would come back
First visit, for Dine Out Week, and husband and I were pleasantly surprised at how great everything was. At first restaurant seems very small but it twists and turns and is actually quite large. Bar area was lively. We chose our meals from the Dine Out menu, but saw many items on their regular menu that looked interesting. There were three choices for the first course, I had the butternut squash soup and my husband the crispy polenta. Both were delicious, but I would highly recommend the crispy polenta. Second course offered four choices, I had the flat iron steak with mashed and asparagus and my husband had the cod, both very good, and I took home some of my steak and have enough for two lunches. Dessert course offered two choices, and I had the trio of sorbets and my husband the tiramisu. The only negative was that they ran out of the peach sorbet so I was given two portions of strawberry and one of the lemon. If I was told this, I would have changed my order to the tiramisu. Our server was knowledgable and pleasant. Service was timely. Definitely will return.
Great food and great service. Highly recommend the restaurant.
Good experience at Chopps American Bar and Grill at the Marriott Boston Burlington. Nice selection of food and drinks!
