Chophouse 47 – Steaks & Lobster Ratings and Reviews
Top notch food and service. Our Steaks were flavorful, tender and cooked perfectly.
The appetizers, salads and deserts were very good as well. Service was perfect and
The Staff was Friendly. We hope to go back many times in the future. Great way to
celebrate a New Zyear with the Family.
Chop house 47 is hands down the best steak in the area. The service is always fantastic, however I feel that when one spends $400 or more on dinner for 4, that I shouldn't have to endure the heavy smell of cigarette smoke. Have been a long time patron but find myself questioning whether I'll go back. The smoke was especially bad this time.
My wife and I have been enjoying this restaurant since it opened. The food and service is outstanding they wine and cocktails to suit everyone tastes and wallet.
The only complaint I have is the Cigar smoke, Chop House has a Cigar bar, the smoke from the bar permutes every square inch inch of the restaurant. I would come more often if they had a better air purification system in the bar.
Went for Christmas Eve while in town visiting daughter and family. I enjoy a leisurely paced dinner but this was overly slow. 20 minutes+ for drink order to arrive, 40 minute for bread, longer for appetizers and entree. Food was good but not exceptional. Prices are near New York level but service and food are not close to the quality.
The food was very good. Everything else was not. We had a group of eight getting together for the holidays. We did not realize this was a smoking establishment. Smokers outside just beside the front door, so you smell the smoke going in and then once inside the cigar odor is really overwhelming. A high end restaurant that allows smoking in today's environment does not square with us. Then when we received our bill, there was over $100 in liquor we did not order. The waiter acted so weird about it we wondered if it was intentional and not an honest mistake. Maybe with a big group they thought we would not notice. This won't be on our dining list again. It could be a great go to but the smoke and the sketchy over charges left us with a bad experience.
This is our third visit to Chophouse 47. The steaks and seafood were excellent, as always. Beware the waitstaff trying to upsell you on the entrees and wine. Whereas the food, and especially the steaks are quite good, they are overpriced compared to comparable quality and ambience in Greenville. I still recommend Chophouse 47, but will go there more to enjoy a good steak without the hassle of driving into Greenville on a weeknight, so in this case, the inflated prices outweigh the traffic jams...
If you are looking for an excellent steakhouse (and seafood) that is not the typical chain restaurant, then look no further than Chophouse47. Truly excellent dinner and appetizer choices all were perfectly prepared. Combine that with attentive and extraordinary service, and you have a restaurant that delivers a great dinner experience. Extensive wine list as well with quality wines in all price levels as well. We will definitely be going back!
As always, great food and service! Having read numerous other Open Table reviews, I find other reviewers also are offended by all the smoking and cigar smoking in the bar area. I believe Chophouse 47 would be WELL served to eliminate the nasty wafting of smoke into the dinning room! I would dine here more often if smoking were eliminated! Its a shame that a fine dinning restaurant these days still allows inside smoking!!
When I come up for the FSU vs. Clemson game, I always bring my clients to Chophouse 47. This was my 4th time and the 5th won't come soon enough unless you put a location in Tallahassee (you wouldn't have any competition). Don't ever take the banana cream pie off the menu :)
See you in 2 years.
