Chophouse 47 – Steaks & Lobster Ratings and Reviews
Cigar bar with a great restaurant attached. I understand some people enjoy a good cigar after dinner but, I would rather not smell it while I eat. Chophouse 47, you have a choice to allow smoking and I have a choice on where to dine. Excellent meal, staff and extensive wine list... I hate not to go back - please change your smoking policy.
I took my girlfriend to dinner before my senior prom. The food was great. My parents had been to this restaurant, but I had not before this trip. The place was real clean and quiet. We had an early reservation. We both had a really special time with no drama or rushing. Thanks for doing such a great job. I would definitely recommend it to anyone.
Chop House 47 provided a great atmosphere for our business dinner. Staff was courteous, knowledgeable and friendly. The food was outstanding, from the seafood platter appetizer to the perfectly prepared steaks. I would highly recommend this restaurant for a business dinner, special occasion, or just for an excellent meal.
We live in Florida, and took my parents there for our Easter dinner. The service was good. The food was disappointing and not worth the money. The steaks tasted like cardboard. It was cooked properly, but the texture was not right. I ordered the ribeye, but it was not a ribeye. It looked like a filet but it was tough. I will post pictures on Yelp. The only good thing about the experience is that my husband will never go back. I never saw his fascination with the place.
I still (and always will) have issues with the fact that the bar is a grey cloud with all the damn smoke taking place, and wafting out into the dinning room! Every time I eat at Chophouse 47, I have the same complaint, but it falls on deaf ears...... We were there on a Saturday night (prime time dinning on a weekend). The place had many empty tables (6 in the back room alone). I think the smoking issues is causing Chophouse 47 to lose business to Hall's Chophouse? I feel that I owe some business to 47 because of the great situation they offer to vets on Veteran's. That's a wonderful tribute to vets, and I truly appreciate it. But they need to consider either stopping the smoking in the bar, or wall it off so that it doesn't give dinners the bad experience of dealing with the wafting smoke into their area...... I know this will once again fall of deaf ears, but it should ring a bell when the place is only 60% full on a Saturday night!
We've eaten at all the big name steak houses in Greenville, including Hall's, Larkin's, Ruth's Chris, etc. These were the best steaks in town. Two of us split the 22 oz ribeye and the other two had filets. The best.
Sides were good. Service was amazing. Looking forward to going back. When I want a steak that's better than anything I can make at home (and I'm pretty good at it), Chop House 47 is where I'll be going.
Gave "Ambiance" 4 stars b/c it was dark enough for table candles. But no table candles there, so just dark.
The last two times we have eaten here there were problems. This time I ordered a NY Strip steak and my server even read back to me what he wrote down, when our steaks came out I was served a Ribeye. Not sure how you can make that mistake server admitted he wrote down the correct info but when he entered order he messed up. It took 15 minutes before my steak finally came out by than my wife has finished her meal and no manager ever came over to apologize and they didn't offer any discount off the meal.
Though on the pricy side, the food was superb. Most of the food is dished tableside, especially if sharing. Most items were ample for sharing. All items are served ala carts. The service was the best I have experienced in quite some time from any restaurant.
We observed three separate tables with patrons with different disabilities. It is obviously know locally for their fine service for those with a disability.
The waitress went out of her way to familiarize herself with us. She was even at the exit door to open it as we left. Sorry that we were only visiting from out of state. Would love to dine there again.
Over all we were very satisfied. We were seated on a outside(not center) room. Everyones only complaint was the darkness of the restaurant. We ordered steak medium but it was to dark to tell how it was. We were given a dessert menu, but it was hard to see with the lighting to read it.
