Chop Restaurant in Sister Bay is one of our favorites. The food is consistently very good. The staff is friendly and professional. They interact with guests very well. We actually tried two entrees we had not had before and both were delicious. In the summer, their outdoor dining and bar are a great additional space to sit with a view of the water and sunset.
Quality cocktails, wine and beer choices. Excellent food to please even the most discriminating palate. Great service. Breathtaking view of Green Bay. A good time at a reasonable price.
Excellent service from Jason! Great place to celebrate!
The scallops were outstanding, as was the ice cream sundae desert. Waiter could have backed off a notch.
This was our second time there in the past year. You have to pay a little bit more to get top of the line food and great service, but it was certainly worth it. We also met some nice and friendly people at the bar before dinner. We will be back!
Our first visit and it was an amazing meal. We enjoyed the lamb chops and steak. Both were cooked perfectly. Delicious soup and amazing carrot cake. I really enjoyed the cocktail recommended by our server/bartender. Her recommendations and service ensure that we will return.
Celebrating friends! We had an awesome dinner with great drinks! Chop is always one of our favorite!!
Chop never disappoints. Steaks are outstanding ! Staff is top notch. Been going to Chop for many years and never had a bad experience. New Year’s Eve in the outdoor dome was the best. Looking into it again for next year. Wait staff was phenominal as they had to zip in and out of the dome in frigid temperatures. Always a great experience dining at Chop !
Over the top! Great Experience!
One of our favorite restaurants in Sister Bay. Consistently good food and service.
The food and drinks were fine. We had a reservation but could not get a table until 45 minutes later with no apology. Then service was very slow with a mix-up on the appetizer which was never explained, but they did take it off the bill. Overall a bit disappointing. Past experiences have been much better.
Fantastic food. Excellent waitstaff Reservations on time
One of the best dinners ever. Our waitress, Kaitlyn was perfection! Beautiful decor!
Birthday celebration. One our favourite restaurants in D.C. always great service, food and ambience.
Amazing food and service
We love Chop. We come at least twice a year when we are in town. Amazing food and wonderful service!!
Well, it was supposed to be “everyday dining,” but they knew my birthday was just a couple of days away—and gave me a coupon good for my next dessert. We had the special—a couple of NY Strips, as that’s what we were planning to have anyway. Excellent cuts and properly prepared. We enjoyed our evening and will definitely be back. Chop is one of our DC favorites.
Absolutely wonderful dinner. Four diners, four different entrees, all the same responses. From the Milwaukee area, but make it a point to get to Chop on each biannual trip. Always great food, and variety of selections.
The hostess was exceptional, cheery and wishing my husband happy birthday as the reservation had stated. The bartender was a delight, knowledgeable regarding various drinks with our likes and favorites. I loved my drink, thank you. She also wished my husband happy birthday. The waiter took our order, blackened salmon and New York Strip steak. Salad and soup was great, popovers amazing, entrees as well. We ordered dessert, it came with no fan fair, no birthday wishes! The bill came with a small piece of cake, a coupon for $10 off future visit and a lame excuse that he did not see the birthday request. This was a treat for my husband from me. Chopped is where he requested. I AM disappointed to say the least.
Overall we had a decent experience here. I didn’t care much for my dinner and the service was extremely slow. However, my husband loved his food and the ambiance was nice. I would give it another chance, but my first impression wasn’t great.
Great dinner! Vlad was wonderful waiter, delicious food, great setting!
Perhaps the summer chef is on vacation. There were 5 in our party. One had the house margarita and it was okay, but nothing special. There was only one vegetarian option on the menu—a stirfry, but it was good. Two had the house salad and it was excellent. Three had the walleye dinner from the "test menu" and all were disappointed. The walleye was limp and poorly seasoned. The accompanying coleslaw had way too much vinegar and no one ate it. The potato pancake was fine, although it would have been preferable to have the applesauce on the side rather than thinly applied to the top.
Not a busy night, so noise level was fine, but it would be very noisy if the restaurant were full.
Both our meals were excellent! I had the panko crusted walleye and my husband has the pork chop. Both err pet of the early bird menu- great value for the money and delicious!
CHOP - Door County is one heckuva of a great dining place serving local sourced food. Love their food...and the Early Dinner menu is loaded with lots of GREAT VALUE
So good, I really want to dine here daily!
Chop was great. The early bird menu is great value for the money. We’ve been twice and enjoyed it each time we come up to Door County. We got to sit in the domes, which made for a very fun special experience. Both times we’ve been the service was great, but was even excellent this last time. Our son has nut allergies and they were so helpful and awesome about accommodating. Look forward to going back when we return to Door County.
Food and service was amazing, worth the price. Only minus was the noise level but we were there on NYE so very busy.
We made reservations for New Years Eve. Our table wasnt ready for 20 minutes past our reservation. (Busy place!) We didnt receive our food for 1.5 hours, but we enjoyed the company of family, the friendliness of our server, and the food was amazing! We will try another visit on a less busy evening.
New Year’s Eve our with friends.
We love this restaurant!! It was a perfect New Year's Eve. Our waiter was outstanding..professional,calm and attentive. Our meals were delicious as always. Always consistently good!! The women at the front were so very sweet..and our experience was a 10!!
We love coming to Chop always!!
Thank you all for making our evening so special!!
NYE! Wonderful in every way.
Our fifth year in a row for New Years Eve at Chop after our drive up from Chicago. We will always book Chop every year. The owner is a gem who accommodated our request to move upstairs. Our Waiter we knew from the original location remembered us. Food was outstanding as always. Advice from a loyal friend: the outdoor domes were cute but caused the upstairs to be too cold. The waiters continually opening the door in windy 20 degree weather probably also made them ill? Maybe ditch the domes to make everybody more comfortable?? Dan Durbin
We spent NYE at Chop and had a great dinner. I had lamb chops which were delicious and my husband had the surf and turf (also amazing). The creme brulee for dessert was delicious. The restaurant was busy, but the service was very good. The only complaint I had was that there were a number of families there with small children who spent a good portion of the time yelling, which really made it hard to talk. It would have been nice if the families would have chosen another restaurant, or been more cognizant of how disruptive the noise was to other diners.
Food was excellent, hard to heAr server very loud in the dining room
Food and service was great.
The food here is sooo dependable! Always outstanding.....probably the best fillets around! Service is good, friendly, frequent, but not too frequent so there’s never a feeling of being rushed. (Unlike other places I’ve been to). Warm, friendly atmosphere.
We love CHOP, and dinner on Christmas Eve did not disappoint. They have the best steaks in Door County, hands down! For those of us who live in the Door where there are limited dining options during the off-season, it was wonderful to have such a high class restaurant open on the holiday. We look forward to dining here again in the New Year!
We were happily seated on the serene 2nd floor. However, we were at the corner window table , which is the coldest spot in the house. A side order of asparagus was unevenly cooked and overpriced at that. But my Scallops were WONDERFUL and so was my husband's Walleye. The Asian rice was very good, too. Although he was unable to provide our first two choices of red wine, our server, Damien, was very good. We still like Chop, and will go back, as it is in our neighborhood, despite the fact that it also lacks convenient parking (significant for elderly and during inclement weather).
Vlad is the best
The food, drinks, ambience, wait staff, ….everything is great at CHOP!
Best meal ever. Amazing staff, delicious food and an overall great atmosphere
