Steak was over done. Broccoli was under done. Steak tartare was more like ground beef than chopped steak. Tiramisu was made with sheet cake. After we we’re sat at our table another table was sat about 2 1/2 feet away, definitely not within acceptable social distance guidelines. Our waiter was great.

Always a must dine in Door County. The food is excellent with generous portions. Our server was excellent and took great care to meet the needs of a friend with food allergies. The early dining menus is an added bonus.

Made online reservation, which accommodated our request for balcony table. Food was good. Other restaurants in the area had better ambiance for slightly better value.

This was, by far, our best COVID19 restaurant dining experience...Service was fabulous, food was as wonderful as it always is, and it was just so good to be there.

Our waiter, Jason, provided excellent service. During this pandemic, it was finally nice to go out to dinner. Tables were spaced as should be and felt safe. I would return.

Excellent food and service! Ambience was lacking only because of COVID. Our family visits here every year for our reunion dinner and we are always impressed. The staff also, went the extra mile when I left sunglasses and a sweatshirt at the table. I received a tex message telling me about the items literally minutes after we left!

CHOP is by far the best restaurant in Door County that we have had the pleasure of visiting. Food is superb, service is always the best, with the absolute best wait staff that are very professional and also very friendly and more than accommodating to our needs, and quick and ready to answer any and all questions. Ask for Kaitlin or Judy for excellent service! You will not be disappointed!! Beautiful seating outside on the lawn, and inside ambiance is very romantic! #1 in Door County!!

Chop was very good. Patio request was granted and our server was prompt and efficient. Sadly Chop sits next to a working construction site and is on a busy street, the view is less than desirable. Noise levels are also high.

The steaks were slightly over cooked and the potatoes were cool. The scallops were spectacular. The compound butter was very good. The potato soup was really good and the popovers were a nice surprise and very tender.

Food was good but not up the the level it was priced at...no service issues but nothing to brag about either —- comes down to value or lack thereof for the price paid.

Surf and turf with lobster and filet was great. Chop old fashioned was good but I like my brandy sweet. Dessert was wonderful, key lime pie and banana fosters cheese cake. baby reds smashed (mashed) were great. Salad with chop dressing was wonderful, daughter said Cesar salad was great too and creamy potato soup was fabulous. Poppers were ok but I like regular rolls. Food was great. Seating was fine, outside. 8:15pm was our reservation was dark by the end and hard to see food. The reservations and website said it all was outdoor seating. We got there, had to wait for our table, told we had to eat inside or wait until 9:15pm to eat outside! There was no where to put that we wanted to eat outside and the website said they were only seating outside. The reservation would not let me even click on indoor seating. The hostess was rude. She talked to the manager that was right there and the manager was rude also and didn't even come talk to us. Another couple who saw the whole thing offered our table but we had 3 people. They were not going to change it but the man who told us we could have their table said/did something that they then did allow it. I was ready to walk out but it was my 50th birthday and all I wanted was to relax and have an excellent meal. The meal was outstanding and the wait staff was excellent but the hostess and manager were not nice at all! I learned my lesson. I will never reserve online again or trust what it says online. Just be aware if you make reservations you need to be very clear as to what you want. I will probably go back because the food was great but I will definitely call to make a reservation and be very clear on what I want and expect. No 5 stars for this meal because of the management and hostess. They better be careful. If they treat others like this they will not last. There was no apology either or money off bill, free dessert. Their customer service and patron satisfaction needs some work.

We sat outside. Under Covid restrictions, they have done a very good job adapting. We felt safe. The food was very good. Service was very good as well. Chop is and will continue to be our favorite restaurant in Door County. As far as atmosphere, the highway noise is noticeable. We also don’t care for the large hotel next door. It looks massive next to Chop. With that being said, they cannot do a thing about either of those things.

CHOP is doing an excellent job of responding to the pandemic. Tables were well-spaced over the lawn. Umbrellas helped with the late afternoon sun. Staff were very pleasant, properly masked, things were clean, and as always, food was excellent.

We LOVED the scallops and wild rice and the service. I was a bit disappointed that they didn't offer anything for our anniversary (dessert? drink?) after I had put it on my reservation and told our server at the beginning of our meal. We sat outside and enjoyed the beautiful evening.

Walleye and white fish are delicious, filet medallions perfectly prepared. Carrot cake is delicious and moist. Our server was attentive, helpful and friendly. Been here before, and will come back again. Would recommend earlier seatings, before all the crowds show up. Pleasant and comfortable outdoor seating, though.
