Chop Steakhouse & Bar - Toronto Airport/Hotel District Ratings and Reviews
Brought my staff for Xmas party
Terrible uninterested waitress was not attentive dropped tray of drinks on one of us and was not very apologetic
Had to ask her twice to bring one of the drinks she dropped
When meals came one of them was stone cold
Manager comped meals but that’s not what we came for
Won’t be back
Had a great time. Good place to go for a variety of occasions. The wait staff and bar staff are very knowledgeable when it comes to the wine. We spun the wheel and let the waitress and bartender chose our wine. Both bottles were excellent. Would recommend it to everyone.
The area we sat in had a draft. We were charged for extra items on our bill. One of the drinks ordered was wrong and had to be returned. Items were upsized although not requested which inflated the bill. Lights were bright which did not create a nice ambiance. Food was good.
I was really disappointed with my meal tonight. The mushroom steak… the steak was ok but the mushroom sauce ruined it. It tasted like gravy from a can with few slices of mushrooms. Not tasty at all. I’ve have dinner here about 6 times in 2 months. First time I’ve ever been disappointed.
Booked a business lunch for 5 in the bar area for 115pm. Received a call that morning saying that they had overbooked that area and asked if I could move my reservation to a later time. That wasn’t possible so they said we could be placed in the dining room in a 4 person booth with a chair at the end. This was awkward.
Great food, great service, great atmosphere though the music volume could have been a little lower to allow easier conversation. Did not appreciate the very young, crying baby at the table immediately behind us - that party could have been seated elsewhere as the restaurant was not at all crowded. But all in all it was a very enjoyable evening.
One of my favourite places. On this visit, the table they had for us was not ideal and my date requested a different table. They said that it would take a few minutes but they would try to accomodate us. Abot 5 - 10 minutes later, they had a nice quiet table set up for us and to our surprise and pleasure, a small bottle of champagne! Koudos to Chop and the staff for making this a wonderful evening. Oh, if you're going...you have to try the steak bites!
Second time there. The food is good but I wouldn’t say great. Deserts trio was still a little frozen. Chicken and ribs were good but so are Swiss Chalet. Who am I kidding, Swiss chalet is definitely better. My daughter had the filet and she said it was perfect. Wine list was good but not exceptional. All in all, it was good.
Celebrated a birthday this past Sunday. I would have given the service 4* but we felt as though ee were rushed out of the restaurant. The server didnt ask us if we wanted any hot beverages or any additional drinks and just brought the bill to us without us even asking for it.
Service was horrible. We were a group of 6 celebrating my birthday. The service was so slow. When the food finally came out all our sides were cold. They had to replace the mash potatoes and sweet potatoe fries. We were not checked on - not even once to see if we were ok or if we needed anything else. Our server went M.I.A. We had to ask other servers who were passing by for refills. And when it came to asking for the cake that we personally brought in to serve, that took a very long time - at least 20 min before they finally brought it out - we ended up asking at least 3 different servers for the cake. And then when we asked for our bill and take out boxes, that took another 25 min. This is the worst service we received ever! Especially for this type of restaurant, you would think the service would be a lot better. Instead of enjoying a birthday celebration, we were left with a very bad taste in our mouth. I don't think we will return back to this restaurant again.
We simply weren’t happy there. We were celebrating an 80th birthday. No mention of it. Waitress was an order taker. Not a waitress. I small loaf for 4 people. Salad had wilted leaves used. No ambience to this restaurant at all. Food just ok. A real disappointment.
Although we enjoyed the experience, my shock that the waitress would first recommend a $190 and then a $185 bottle of wine without qualifying the price when she was casually asked to suggest a bottle has me still upset and the highlight of the meal.
Thankfully we checked the price before we ordered.
Be careful on their upsell tactics!!!
