CHOP Steakhouse & Bar - Richmond Ratings and Reviews
Valentine's Day: We had a reservation and still had to wait about 20 minutes for a table. But they had complimentary wine out to taste while we waited and it was a special occasion so we weren't too upset. The restaurant was beautiful, very quiet considering it was full, and had super comfortable chairs. Service was good. Food was excellent. My husband ordered his steak medium but still found it underdone for his taste (he admits he knew he should have ordered medium well) but my chicken was amazing! Prices on par with other steak houses. We'd go back.
My husband and I dined at Chop Steakhouse for Valentine's Day. I made the booking well in advance yet we were seated in the Bar. Although our server was nice enough, our service was rather slow. We waited quite a while to give our drink order. The noise level was high. This was not the ambiance expected..... pity.
My husband and I love going to Chopped for special date nights. The staff is always very friendly and attentive. Food is a bit pricey for what you get, so we don't go too often. On our anniversary we were given a card, champagne, and a very nice card. Thank you, it is our go-to date night spot!
Good value for the dollar especially with Dine-out Vancouver Festival.
Love the modern decor; however, some tables are quite dimly lit and needed cellphone flashlight to see the menu.
Staff/servers are generally very nice & helpful.
Steaks / chicken dishes and baked potatoes are very good quality with good portion sizes.
Washrooms are absolutely gorgeous & modern with tv screen and lounge chairs. A bit dark to find the washrooms, watch out for the two steps.
Plenty of free parking in lot.
Great for special occasions / celebrations!
This is our fourth time visiting Chop Steak House!! Highly highly recommend!!
1. First time dining at a steakhouse in which we got served our entree while we were half way through our appetizers.
2. We waited very long for our dessert
3. We waited very long for our bill.
4. Food was great and we enjoyed it very much, but service was terrible.
Overall, the food was good! But the dessert was disappointing. We got the soufflé option from the dineout menu and it came out looking like a regular slice of cake instead of in ramekins, like what the next table got. Service was ok, our main server didn't come to our table until 15 mins later after we were seated. The server who delivered our main entrees was not sure which one is the medium and medium well, so he had to go back to the kitchen and check again. Hope the service will be better next time and to put more attention to detail when it comes to dessert and not just an afterthought.
Once you enter the Restaurant, it makes you all calm and warm inside. Love the Decor. Thought it was a 3 Course Meal but it was a 4 Course Meal. Thank you. Had the Soup & it was hot and yummy. The Appetizer was a bigger portion than expected. Lots of Crab pieces inside. The Entree was made just perfectly for me. My first time having Home Made Horse Radish. Wow, what a kicker. Exciting. Dessert was a light Tiramisu. Finished the Dinner just right. Dine Out Vancouver $40 per person.
Love free parking. It was a cold night but just had to dress up. Giggles. I had a great night. Thank you & have a nice day. Huggies.
My wife and I have been to Chop Richmond a handful of times, and we are always satisfied with the food and the service. We were there during Dine Out Vancouver this time and they had two menus for the event. One for $30 and one for $40. Both came with dessert but the $40 menu had a prime rib option and came with an appetizer as well. We got one of each and tried some of each other's food. The steaks are to die for, if you like steak you'll love it here.
We're planning on trying out the outdoor dining/ lounge when it's warmer.
Went to Chop for our Dine-Out experience this year. The prime rib was much tender than last year's. The Red pepper bisque was on the sour side and the crab cake was missing peashoots. I loved having the private room for the kids though. Just seemed that the waiter was a bit rushed to get us to pay and go as the bill came before we asked for it. Overall a great experience as we had a private room with great food!
Overall, great food! They were very accommodating when I added 2 extra people to my party. I told them the dinner was for a birthday and they placed us in a section of the restaurant where we enjoyed some quieter ambiance. The service was missing a few details (missing an appetizer until we mentioned it, trying to flag down a server for the bill took a while) , but our table was away from the rest of the crowd. Other than that, the place was great! I've been to Chop last year and don't regret coming back again!
This restaurant was so good in atmosphere. The server was kind and humorous.
The interior of the restaurant was nice and there were many places to take pictures.
It was good to have a birthday party because the space for a group meal was wide.
I would recommend it to a friend.
We came here for Dineout and it was really good! Good portions and options for food - we liked that there was a $40 menu and $30 menu to choose from. This has always been one of our favourite restaurants. There was one part of the experience that was bad, but the manager handled it perfectly and took necessary actions to make us feel valued. We will definitely return in the future.
Their service was just ok. Their food: main dish was good, but dessert and appetizer was not so exited. Alcohol drinks are not many selection and they do not know how to make typical cocktails. Our seats are so high and I was not comfortable to eat at the time.
