Chop Steakhouse & Bar - Chinook Ratings and Reviews
I haven’t been to Chop Steakhouse in over a year. Took my boyfriend for a special expensive evening experience. I ordered the cheapest prime rib chop experience $37.95. I was tremendously disappointed by receiving an extreme thinly sliced piece of meat to makes matters worse half it was grizzle - stringy fat which I could not chew wasting away. I didn’t complain cause I couldn’t make sense of it why they would serve an entree at this cost by giving me practically all fat.
Spent my anniversary here with my wife.
- Service was great.
- Food, was average the crab cakes tasted like they were frozen and were not good at all. Had the 20 oz Rib eye asked for med rare came out rare I expected a bit more for the price. Desert was great.
- Ambiance was good for a date.
- I don't feel the value was here for the price range.
We enjoyed an excellent night out with great service from Tyler. The Ahi tataki was wonderful and we had the best blue cheese wedge salad I can remember. House smoked ribs were very good and the dessert trio pushed everything over the top.
We mentioned we would be sharing each part of our meal as we enjoyed our appetizer. Tyler let the kitchen know this and they plated everything for so that we each had our own plate which was a very nice touch.
Prime rib was cooked perfectly and a good portion. Recommend the truffle scallop potatoes or seasonal vegitables to go with. You don't need too many sides. Make some room for desserts - mini Caribbean rum cake or cream brulee are so good. Overall price is not cheap here but foods is excellent.
It was my birthday and I was not disappointed. The server(Austin) I think that's his name was amazing. He made sure my girlfriends and I did not missing anything. What a good server you have there! Keep up the good work Austin.
The yam fries were a bit burnt and dry, however we got a different plate of them and overall the food was really good and I'll go back in a heart beat.
Had the best time!! Went for my birthday with two girlfriends, as soon as we walked in the front door, things happened!! My girlfriend's gift bag with a bottle of wine smashed on the floor and the staff was "don't worry about it, we will deal with it". Then during our fantastic dinner the manager ( didn't get her name, dark hair and glasses) gave us a bottle of wine to celebrate my birthday :) and then dessert was also on the house. Over all a great experience and will defiantly be going back.
Meal was a 2 because one meal was good and the other was a disaster. Filet minon ordered med rare and it came out med well. Server and manager took immediate action and were apologetic. The meal came out 10 minutes later and the filet was raw!!! Ended up ordering something else.
The other meal steak and lobster tail was delicious.
The manager comp'd our whole meal and dessert, which was appreciated.
Stopped in for drinks and appies before a movie. The house wine on the happy hour special was decent, and tried a mix of the happy hour appetizers (steak bites, peppercorn poutine, and bourbon chicken wings). The food was good and the happy hour pricing was great. We also sat outside which was nice for a hot day, and our server (Australian lady - don't recall her name) was very nice and attentive.
We came for mother's day and was quite disappointed. We were told no eggs can be poached soft then when we asked why the waitress said I dunno. I understand in volumes the poaching of eggs to perfection may be hard but she could have answered better. Our Reso was at one pm, our food was not very good especially for the price
