Best ribeye ever!
Always a great time. Chop is my wife's favourite date night spot and the food and service never disappoint.
i thought the food was ok , service was too ,tho she forgot the bread till after our soup , potato was cold they did promptly bring another , like i said just average and i thought it was a little expensive being over 100.00 for dinner for 2 with one drink each , nothing special nothing terrible .
Forgot my fries with my meal.
Good, but we kept finding hairs in our food.
Went for a birthday and they accommodated for a last minute change of more guests - thankful for that. I believe the downtown was better atmosphere and food. My food was warm everyone else’s was hot ... I did not complain but all of us who had steak it was over seasoned to the point of crunchy seasoning and over salted! Prefer the competition steak house - but decided to change things up!
I like Chop because the tables feel secluded and quiet making conversation easy. We had a person with difficulty hearing and we were given a great table.
We also had some picky eaters (allergies, special diet) and the service was very good, especially considering all our requests.
The new green side salad was outstanding. Lots of veggies and very fresh. A nice compliment to the haddock which was nicely cooked and had a sweet bourbon glaze.
We have had a few mediocre experiences at Chop last year, but this one makes up for them and will keep us coming back.
I had the Haddock which I have had before but this time the maple butter was overwhelming the fish. I would recommend using less.
My girlfriends and I love being able to book a private room, we can come there eat a good meal in a quite place. We have 9 kids between us 3 girls and going somewhere quite and enjoyable is a treat. Last time we had lunch the food was not good, but the manager came and saw us and made it right. We will be back ( not for lunch) but dinner.
Great food. A bit pricey but no more so than The Keg or any other good steak place.
Nice atmosphere. Food was good- though pricey. Our server was amazing and very thoughtful.
Reservation booking gave us what we asked for- booth and in quiet area.
Will visit again.
Food was great, service was very, very slow. The music was way to loud. The aisles blocked by putting a person at the end of the table were there normally would not be a chair, this also made it an exit hazard.
We went to Chop for a Birthday. The staff were all excellent and they recooked one of our steak when it was overcooked without any complaints. We were very impressed by the room, the food and the staff, especially Alex, our attendant. I'd call him our waiter, but he did much more.
Our table (reservation) was not ready. Waited 20 minutes.
The quality of food was terrible. Lukewarm to cold. Food portions were small for the price.
Options for drinks was limited compared to other fine dining restaurants.
We ordered a side order of vegetable and didn’t get them during the meal, but were charged for them.
The layout of the restaurant is odd - open views of the kitchen which was industrial looking - not appealing.
Too many children and the music was too loud in my opinion, overall I will definitely return to eat here frequently, because the food is amazing
Chop is consistently good. And it is very reasonably priced also. One of our favourite places.
Made a reservation for 6:30 arrived at 5:15 and they sat us right away. Waitress was friendly. We had a piña colada. Expected it to be bigger but I guess for the price the size was appropriate. Food was excellent had the hunters chicken and my boyfriend had the chicken and ribs. For dessert we had Caribbean rum cake. We couldn't taste the rum but it was still delicious! We will be back.
For my first time at Chop it was a very good experience. All our servers, hostesses and managers were very attentive. There were 4 of us and one meal unfortunately was not pushed through. The manager not only offers a salad while our hungry guest waited, she comped his salad, meal and our desserts. The food was perfect! Everything you wanted it to be. My steak melted in my mouth! The manager Alicia made it an even better experience with her chats, customer service and warm farewell. We will definitely be back!
We had a great meal. When we told them that we are having a business meeting, they offered up one of there private rooms. Our waitress, Ariana, was attentive and very professional.
Service was great!! Food was average for the price you pay
Fantastic as always!
We are regulars at the South Location.
We will definitely be back again :) The fallen chocolate soufflé cake is the best dessert ever! Thanks for yet another great evening.
Great service and fantastic food. Our steaks were great!. We definitely will be returning. Extremely relaxed environment and fun.
Celebrated my birthday here with family. They put us into one of the side rooms with a sliding door. We felt like we were sitting in the comfort of our kitchen table but with service.
Waitress ignored several things, we had to ask for refills of wine, water and beer. One of the orders was incorrect, which she had recommended. Salmon was severely undercooked when ordered well done, sent back and still came came back undercooked. One of our prime ribs ordered medium was very rare. Manager was very apologetic about the salmon and credited our bill.
Michele and I ate here in December for my birthday and she was excited to do it for her birthday. All was good then I noticed a customer had a problem with his order(surf and turf),I said to Michele that he must of been told he could snack on the plate while he waited for another. He then ate steak in 3 bites and lobster the same way, then his other plate came out.
After another 5 or so minutes our plates came out, Micheles' lobster was done to perfection my lobster was not cooked and our steaks were burnt beyond well done. The lobster was cold as I took it off the shell. It really seemed that the other customer got my lobster tail and I got one that wasn't cooked. I didn't want to spoil Micheles birthday so I didn't say anything.
I would have to say the service was not near as as good as Emily was prior visit.
It seemed that the waiter avoided us knowing that my lobster was not cooked, it was hard to get a refill on our pops.
Afterward we saw Emily and she said we were suppose to be in her area but someone didn't know, not that it would've made any difference in the food but next time we will have to ask for her section.
We were married the following day and for a wedding present we were given a gift card for your place because we had praised your place after the first visit, I'm sure hoping our next experience will be better.
Our dining experience was good, the steaks were outstanding! However, the choice of accompanying vegetables were not great, broccoli, beets tomatoes were unappetizing and as I don't eat starches left me with little to enjoy. Staff are outstanding, however!
the place was great, my only complaint is it's location. Tucked into a small corner of hotel complexes so parking sucks and its on the hwy 2 and Anthony Henday exchange which provides no access to the Ellerslie road it's located on so you have to go way out of the way down the road and back track on Ellerslie and fight through the traffic to FINALLY arrive at the restaurant.
Was good :) had a nice Vday
I was extremely disappointed with our Valentine's Day experience. When I have a reservation, I do not want to wait at the door for a half hour after our reservation time to be seated (our total wait time was about 45 minutes). This restaurant has been around long enough to know not to overbook on a special occasion. I have been there several times so know the quality of the food which is why we booked there for Valentine's Day. Last night, the food was a big miss. My steak was horribly sinewy (so very tough) and extremely small for the price. My husband's seafood chowder had so little seafood in it I don't know how they could pass it off as a seafood chowder. At least the cheesecake was good (except for the lumps - no one likes lumps of cream cheese in their cheesecake; it's somewhat off-putting). While I was eating my steak, I wished we had gone to the Keg; I hate to say it. I won't be going back to Chop anytime soon. Big miss, Chop, big miss :(
Service was very good, found food specials just ok, was not happy we were stuck in the bar as it was very loud and we could barely hear each other, and we booked reservation weeks ago! Definitely not worth the price I paid. Place was way too busy
Food and service was very good.
This location consistently has the best service and food selection. Even though it was Valentines Day, you never felt rushed. Probably their most busiest day of the year, but service was great and food was prepared as ordered. If you haven't tried this location, it is worth the drive to the south side. The Keg has just opened a new restaurant in our neighborhood but we still will drive to the Chop for the food and excellent service.
We went to Chop for a special occasion. I did not like where we sat as we were by the kitchen. My steak was over cooked. I was so looking forward to the dinner but was disappointed. The lightning sucked. I didn't find the atmosphere romantic
Atmosphere ,building, people, food(not by temperature but luck of twist)
I give a 5 star to the quality of the food. It was amazing! The server was nice but took an awefully long time to grab the dessert menu and our bill, but overall, it was good.
SERVICE IS CONSISTENTLY GOOD.
THE VEGETABLES ON MY PLATE ARRIVED UNDERCOOKED AND LESS THAN WARM
Both the service and the food were great! We really enjoyed the special Valentines Day menu.
Service was excellent, food was delicious and the Anniversary couple received a free dessert as did the birthday girl. 😀
First time we ate here and decided to try it for a change. Husband and I were out on a date. We both ordered the prime rib dinner later in the evening, around 8:30pm. I had the iceberg wedge salad, which was basically a huge slice of iceberg lettuce that was super bitter and had a little bit of blue cheese dressing on it with bacon bits on the side. Was not tasty at all. Yuck. My husband ordered the Caesar salad, which was good. THEN, the prime rib...we ordered it medium rare and when it came, most of the meat was pretty red, so being too well done was NOT the problem. The meat was so tough and full of gristle, that my husband couldn’t even cut through it and I couldn’t even chew mine. Told the waiter who told the kitchen and agreed it was a bad cut of meat. (I can’t believe they could even cut it?) Although they offered up something else to replace it, I was pretty turned off. We left without eating dinner there. I am NOT the kind of person to offer up or waste my time with writing reviews. I am writing this because it is genuinely one of the worst meal experiences I’ve ever had...AND I really do love to eat out and enjoy a great meal. (Eg., Sabor, Range Rd) We were offered a free steak dinner, which if I’m desperate, might give them another try but definitely not in the near future.
One of our favorite spots. Clean, quiet and comfortable. The quality of the food never disappoints. Service is always very good.
