Our party of 5 was seated in a private room. I was very pleased. The servers were excellent. We enjoyed the cheese toast, the yorkies, and the lobster dip appetizers. I enjoyed my prime rib immensely. Two in our party chose steak with asparagus and prawns done with a Bernaise sauce. They would have enjoyed it more without the sauce, but personal preference. Overall very good. We had a nice time.

Service was great! Our waitress was very prompt and made sure we had everything we needed! Water right away, my glass never went empty, nothing worse than running out of water. Food was great , my steak was actually medium rare. I find a lot of restaurants over cook thier steaks.
Great restaurant hopefully be back soon.

Everything was amazing; food, service, atmosphere. I am so impressed with the service and food, they were very sensitive to my food allergy (tree nuts) and I had a large selection that I could choose from (pretty much everything) even desserts! Thank you so much for a great evening!

Great steak and prime rib-house with excellent service. Similar prices to the Keg with food better and wider menu options. The only complaint is that is was really, really dark--some candles on the table would be nice to counteract this.

Love Chop Steakhouse. May issue this visit was they were out of my favorite beer on tap. Made the night a disappointment. Had water instead.
Everything else was fantastic as usual.
Thanks:)

As usual the food was top drawer. Our server was pleasant, friendly and very attentive.our meal came quickly and was hot on arrival. We were never made to feel rushed and we lingered over our dessert. Three of us order craft beer and it was tasty. Over all a great experience. We will be back.

Oddly enough we went to Chop twice in the same week. Both times we had the same server, Shay. Both times we had great service. The first time we sat in the bar and chose a booth, which we loved. The second time was for New Years and were seated in the bar but found it too noisy so I mentioned it to Shay and she found us a quieter booth in the dining room. We were really pleased with that. She was very accommodating and friendly. On both occassions we enjoyed our meals. The stand out for me was the haddock in a maple bourbon sauce. I would retun for this dish and highly recommend it. Another item we enjoyed was the chop salad. Fresh and great dressing. Overall we would return to this locaion in Ellerslie and recommend it to others.

Good food and good service. Would recommend for a casual outing with time to spare. Obviously, good food takes time to prepare. Visited twice in two weeks. Found prices similar to other places but the food was worth it. Try the onion soup.

The food and service was outstanding. Staff were all friendly and attentive. The waitress recommended an appetizer. Dinks came right way followed by the appetizers. Dinner was so tasty. We never felt rushed or felt that anything took to long to come. We will be back

The food at the South Side Chop is always excellent. This was our 6th New Years Eve at the Chop. Always great food and friendly staff. The manager Brad stopped by and followed up on our meals once they were delivered to make sure everything was satisfactory.

My husband ordered the filet mignon steak and he raved that it was the best one he has ever eaten -- he has eaten a fair number of them over the years that I have been with him. I had a taste of his dish and it was cooked to perfection - it melted in your mouth. He love his steaks medium rare and the Chop House did not disappoint.
I had a chicken dish -- and it also was very tasty. However, the dinner portions are big and we could not finish all on our plate. As we are senior - it would be nice to have some senior portions - or smaller plates that would also be less expensive and would not go to waste. We could have shared a plate but it was NYE and we both wanted our own take on the menu. Often when we are out for dinner as we always find the portions too big and we do not want to take home any left overs. Had the portions been smaller, we would have had room for dessert but we had to pass.
The service and servers were excellent and we want to compliment the Chop House as we feel they have improved since the last time we had dinner there. Highly recommend this restaurant for dinner either casual or for a special event/occasion.

It was the best meal I've had in years. My wife and I usually went to the Keg for our birthday dinners until my banker suggested your place and we were very impressed with your food and service. She already wants to book her birthday there, so I will see in again in February.

SALTY! Someone was very heavy handed with the salt tonight. My husband did not eat his entree (Hunter Chicken) at all. My friend and myself found our filet mignon a little over salted but they were cooked perfectly and we ate our entire meal dispite it being a bit salty. We both drank a lot of water though. The server wasn’t keeping up with refilling our waters which was disappointing. To be fair, we did not complain.
The server spoke so quietly none of us could make out what he was saying. He was very nice and fairly attentive.

This is my first negative review of this restaurant. I have always been completely satisfied with the food and service in the past visits. Hopefully this was just an off night. It will be awhile before I go back but I will go back.

Food was good. We had smoked rib eye, filet mignon, ribs and chicken and the kids meal chicken finger. The food was all good. For 4 people, we only got a small bun. The bread was tasty but server did not ask if we wanted more. The chocolate souffle cake was excellent. The kids meal chicken fingers were not the usual fast food chicken finger. It was delicious and the portion was plentiful. A good meal.

I booked a reservation through Open Table for a November 24th 6:15 p.m. supper. That process was quite easy and accurate. We were seated immediately with the remark from the hostess "oh good" when I announced my name. It took a while for our server to come by for a drink order but I had a decent house white wine and my date had a Stella. My choice for a meal was the Chop Experience prime rib-medium, and my date had the chicken and ribs. After a considerable wait, we were served "careful of the hot plates" but with only moderately warm food on them. My meal was preceded by the French onion soup which was very oily and tasted suspiciously canned - certainly not worth a $9.95 touch on its own. The prime rib was not spectacular. My date enjoyed the chicken and ribs - and I had a small sample of the ribs which I agreed tasted quite good. But overall it was a very busy place, very noisy, the service rather inattentive, and the meals certainly not worth the over $100 bill. I'll not be coming back any time soon. Thanks.

We must have hit this place on the wrong night we went for our anniversary and it took almost an hour and twenty mins to get our food, the meals were mediocre at best by the time we got them our waitress was overwhelmed with no help from management it certainly wasn’t specific to us the table beside us was there 5 mons after we got there and wasn’t served until we were leaving. At the very least management needs to help manage the house better put priority on meal waits and if there is a back log in the kitchen step up take accountability and keep your guests informed and ensure their drink order is taken more than once in the hour and a half they wait for their food. I’ve eaten at other locations and not had this result, like I said I hope we hit this on the wrong night if not the owners should invest in some support for their managers and drive quality from the top down, don’t let the wait staff have to eat crap sandwiches from the guests because things are going wrong in the kitchen.

Went for my 1 year Anniversary, we like this place and have been a couple of times. As always the food was great, the restaurant is nice, our server this visit was new (we heard her introduced at another table as new with another waitress, she helped us alone). While I can appreciate people being new, for a 130 dollar meal plus tip....you expect the serves to be prompt and not having to ask for bread or asking about the status drinks you ordered.

The young lady was trying hard so I can appreciate that much. It just would have made the night more enjoyable if it was more timely and we didn't have to discuss it. We will be back though.

We’ve had a few Saturday night cravings for a good steak, so my husband and I ha e been heading to Chip For the chop experience (you get a starter, select choice of entree and sides) for a decent price. I would say if we had only gone once, the food is amazing! But because we went a few weekends in a row and ordered the exact same thing each time, the food is really inconsistent. Still good, but sometimes better than others. We were there this past Friday and I ordered a steak well done.... it came medium rare and tje waiter took so long to come back, I couldn’t say anything so I just ate it...
