Chop House on the Bricks
Wonderful staff, always a favorite spot to dine.
Not our first time going, it's a date night staple. So good and the service was top notch with Andrew. Food was so good and they are great about letting you eat your courses in order without being rushed. Ambiance was perfect, definitely recommend!
Everything was wonderful. Service, food, seating. We do wish the environment was more quiet. It was noisy and hard to have group conversation.
It was amazing from the minute we walked in the door. The service was top-notch and the food was absolutely wonderful. We can’t wait to go back!
We have always enjoyed Chop House in the past. This was our first bad experience. The fish served to my wife was so over cooked that it was not edible and there was something on the fish that numbed our mouths. When this was brought to the attention of the server she took the plate away and brought us a coupon for a free drink! Needless to say it was not what we had hoped for as part of our 33rd wedding anniversary!!
We had a great dinner and wine selection. The dessert was not what we expected but decent
All in all the experience was nice and high quality. Had to remind our server about our soup appetizer but other than that, the service was great. I ordered a cheeseburger, we were there for the lunch menu, and it was a nice burger with an abundance of fries. My bf and I probably could have split the meal. Only downside to my burger was the upcharge for ANY cheese you wanted to put on the burger. I added Gorgonzola for $2 (price of any cheese ) and it was extremely salty. Counteracted other flavors, but was a little too overwhelming. Other than those two small hiccups, the experience was nice and I would certainly go back again.
Beautiful restaurant and fantastic food...what more could you ask for? Yes there are less expensive options available, but there is no finer dining in Thomasville than the Chop House on the Bricks. I don't think you can go wrong with anything on the menu.
Just right. Small but high quality. Food and service were excellent.
As usual the food was fantastic. Great service and Kimberly was a very gracious hostess.
I had heard so many good things but the experience really fell short. The food was beautifully presented but just average in taste.
It was not busy at all but after 30 min or so had passed after we ordered the manager came over to us to say she noticed we had no food yet. Then oddly defended her own self informing us that 45 min is the expected and typical wait time for a meal. We were very confused why she came over in the first place since we were not complaining. Then even more confused why the waitress wouldn’t have mentioned their process to begin with. We may have ordered appetizers or more drinks if we knew. The atmosphere is rather casual dining style with no ambiance or decor. Not at all what we expected.
Creative menu. Excellent, as always!
Always enjoy the experience, but it can get really loud in the building
The food and service were phenomenal!!!! I had the fried pork chop and my husband had the salmon. Both were delicious. The Chop House never disappoints!
Always a treat! The aged ribeye is the best! The server gave each of us the wrong leftovers. I’d rather box my own.
Wonderful experience. Service was great and food was exceptional, as always.
Food and service are always top notch! Chef is very creative and there is always something for everyone!
Service was great. Food was great also. I got the steak was awesome!
Nice atmosphere, service was very good and food was very good as well.
When we first arrived
Great night out with friends to celebrate my birthday! Best martinis in town. Cherry Lavender is my fav!
Always a favorite in Thomasville.
I was promptly greeted and seated and the hostess was very friendly and courteous. My server was prompt to the table and was also very friendly and attentive.
I was told that the menu had been revised and was also advised of the specials for the evening as well as specials for martinis. I ordered the Prickly Pear martini which was very enjoyable.
I started with the Beer battered Vidalia Onion Rings to be followed by the scallops appetizer as I was dining alone and two appetizers should fill me up. I was more than correct.
The Onion Rings were wonderful as the batter wasn’t too overwhelming and the onions were sweet and ‘meaty’ which is perfect for Vidalia onions. The dish was served with two dipping sauces and each was excellent.
The scallops were absolutely in incredible. Cooked to perfection they literally melted in my mouth and were fresh and served on grits that were also prepared perfectly.
My compliments to the chef for not only in their preparations but also in their presentation.
I made it a point to tell the manager on duty about everything from the excellent food to the wonderful service.
Great service and food. Best old fashioned I’ve had in a while. Aged ribeye was prepared perfectly.
Servers are well-trained and the food is delicious. They like to use fresh local products. This is handicap accessible and a popular downtown place with a full bar. Closed Sundays and Mondays. Downtown parking available. Some happy hour drinks Tuesdays and Thursdays.
The food is the strength of the Chop House, particularly, the steak. We started with the Sea Scallop appetizer, and found the scallops nicely cooked, and the grit cakes tasty. We then split the 16 oz. dry-aged, bone-in rib eye. It was cooked perfectly, sliced into the requested two portions and had a great taste. Both of us had the roasted brussels sprouts (good) and the smashed potatoes with gorgonzola and bacon (very good). We also split a dessert--the pecan pie with cinnamon ice cream (very good). Service was also very good.
The downsides of the Chop House are a limited, over-priced wine list, not much ambiance--especially given the historic nature of the building, and the noise--all hard surfaces on wall and ceiling. We were glad we were sitting across from each other, as it aided our conversation.
One of the best steaks I have ever had. Worth every penny and well worth the drive to get there.
Was a bit disappointed this visit with the service and good! Sat at bar due to table that was for us was near the door leading to bathroom...my food was room temperature and took forever!
The only thing we did not like about the Chop House was that my husband ordered his steak medium rare, and it was cooked medium well. The rest of the food was very good, but that really hurt our feelings about the restaurant.
We had a great meal with great service in a lovely atmosphere.
Wow! Ramona is an incredibly warm, competent and fun server!! She did an outstanding job communicating our dietary restrictions to the chef so he/she could provide us with wicked awesome dinners. Thank y'all so much!! We will be back
Got right in with reservations. Service was a little slow though restaurant was not crowded (I think the young lady was new) and I understand she needs to learn. NY Strip was grisily but tasty. I will get the next steak Med as Med rare was a little too rare with such a thick steak. We usually order a fish dish and always great. I'll probably stick with the fish next time.
We will go again
Really enjoy the atmosphere and drinks are very tasty!!
Steak was low quality. Potatoes had excessive amount of blue cheese added.
The food and aesthetic of this restaurant were both amazing! Unfortunately our server didn't check on us very often and the appetizers took almost 20-30 minutes to arrive with not explanation. After that it was smooth sailing. Great for a date night/special occasion.
Good food, nice staff, good cocktails too. Beautiful location, worth every dime.
Very tasty food and attentive wait staff
The food is exceptional. The service does not match the environment or the price of the menu. It seems that having tip share does not drive staff to take care of tables with excellence.
