The restaurant is generally very good and the wait staff, while busy tried to be attentive with very good friendly attitudes but not flirty looking for a larger tip(2 males for dinner)The place(both dining area and bar) are excellent match for the Ice District game night. I hope it does well.

Good food, friendly and efficient staff. Found the restaurant quite noisy but it was full of hockey fans as were we. We appreciated the prompt service so we wouldn’t be late for the game.

We popped into here after the Oilers game on NYE and it was strange when we asked the front for a table for 4 she said they only had seats at the bar if we didn’t have a reservation ... so almost defeated we stepped outside and I thought - why not see if there we could make a reservation. And there were lots of time slots on OpenTable so we made a reservation and walked back in and were seated.
I found that odd ...
as for the meal - I think our server was new and nervous which was cute to experience. He forgot to ring in an appetizer and since it was the end of the meal we all received appetizers for next time.
It’s a large restaurant with a lot of space for different occasions.
The chairs were a bit wiggly and cheap
The bathrooms were nice and clean
The food was great
The drinks were on pointe
Monaco’s mule, Caesar were very good and we ordered seconds
The Caesar could have had more than a lonely pickle in it as I was expecting a little fancier garnish to go with the upscale steakhouse

My husband will pop in here again for work meals and we will make sure to make reservations on the fly.

We love going to chop and have gone to this location many times; the food and service is always outstanding my only issue with this particular occasion was that the normally quiet restaurant was over run with post Oiler game patrons and was filled with people in jerseys who weren’t being very considerate towards the many guests who were there to have a nice evening out.

Not worth it. The food and drinks were good but very overpriced for what you get. Maybe it was just the day we went but the service wasnt good. There werent many people there besides us but they all acted like they were rushed, just to walk to the same corner and talk to each other. Multiple times we tried to say something to our waitress and even other waitresses and we were ignored or they walked away so fast you couldnt speak. Don't bother booking a reservation because you just seat yourself apparently. Won't be going back.

Very good! Only thing was the $4 “mini” creme brûlée was about 1/5th of the full size $8 creme brûlée... that $4 mini really felt like a rip-off... if it was $2 then fine but 1/2 price for 1/5th of the full size dessert was not good! Food was otherwise delicious!!

It was not a stellar meal this time; we had a group of 7 and the first two meals came out long before the rest did. There were issues with 5 of the 7 orders, things like the incorrect item, lukewarm fries, steak not quite cooked to order, etc. The server was very friendly and did his best to correct all the issues, so we did appreciate that. Having said that, dishes weren't cleared from the table between courses, and refills were provided when we asked, not that it was noticed or asked if we wanted them. A lunch meal took 2 hours, and we left immediately after finishing desert. Management did come and comp the first two meals and provided everyone free dessert, so points earned back for attempting to make it right. Hopefully it was just an off day for you, as previous meals there were much better.

Thanks Chop and our server Riley for a lovely birthday supper. This was our first visit to Chop and it will not be our last. Riley took very good care of us - right down to the extra napkins and club soda so I could clean the aoili drips off my blouse!

Food, service and cocktails were wonderful. However the OpenTable reservation was nowhere to be found- luckily they were able to get our table of 6 seated.

Will not feel confident using open table again unfortunately

Went there with wife and had really good meals before heading to rogers place, mushroom steaks were amazing. Decided to take my dad there before we hit the oil kings game and the steaks were amazing again, the waiter was great but we received fries that were beyond over cooked, i usually don’t send them back but i did and the 2nd time out were just a little better. Overall we enjoyed the steak, the atmosphere was good and got good service from waiter but was disappointed when i coulda got better fries at rink for the price of the meal

6 of us were coming from out of town for a show at the Winspear Centre and we made a reservation for 6 PM, 2 hours before the show. 4 of us were 10 minutes late, and 2 were 1/2 hour late. We called ahead to advise of our late arrival, and were assured that it would be no problem. When we arrived we were promptly seated and drinks orders were taken immediately. We advised our server that we would like to be out the door by 7:45PM if possible, and she was confident that it would be doable. Drinks arrived just as the third couple arrived and their drinks were brought promptly as well. We ordered appetizers and mains, and they were put into the kitchen together to speed the process. Appies were fast, hot and delicious. Dinner came out within 5 minutes of finishing appies. Everyone was very happy with all of the food, except the Farmhouse pulled chicken salad was drenched with dressing and was quite mushy and unappetizing. A minor hiccup overall. We had 3 separate bills which were done quickly and correctly, and we hit the pavement at 7:40pm! Nicely done Chop! We were quite concerned about the time as there was an Oilers Game at 7:00PM so the restaurant was very busy, but the staff were amazing and the food was great overall. I would heartily recommend Chop to family and friends for the food, ambiance, and efficient, attentive staff. Bravo!

We had an excellent experience, highlighted by our server Carmen. She was super friendly and very knowledgeable. Food was delicious and came surprisingly quick. Definitely recommend and will be back again. I would like to see a better selection of draft beer though.

As a bonus the oilers won!

My family and I drove in from Vegreville to celebrate my wife's birthday, it was a very good experience. We have enjoyed Birthdays and Anniversary's at Chop Steakhouse without disapointment, we have not been to the Keg in over two years. Chop is by far the place to celebrate!!

The restaurant was empty when we arrived. Received service right away. Everything was going great until after we ordered our meals. Took a long time to come and then was told 90 people arrived downstairs in bar so kitchen was backed up. Our meals arrived different from what we ordered. My chop salad arrived with no chicken on it. It was delivered 10 minutes later. Pricey for the plain food we received. House red was very good though.

Lunch experience was overall just okay. Before being seated we
Asked the attendant if it wouldn’t be a problem to get in and out over the lunch hour as we had to be back for a meeting. We were assured it would be no problem and just to let our waiter know - and we did. We placed our order inmediately but ended up waiting 45 minutes for our food to show up. Our waiter seemed to avoid any eye contact as at no point during this 45 minutes did he come by or even provide an opportunity to get a status update. We had to eat quickly which wasn’t an issue as we were all so hungry by then. Food was Okay - not bad but not great either. Only after others delivered the food did our server finally come by our table to ask if everything was ok. Bills and payment was quick at least but I would not recommend this restaurant unless you have all the time.

A nice downtown eating place and one of the few good eating places open for lunch on a Saturday. It was confusing at first - we came in on the street level for a reservation - not realizing that the dining area was on the second floor - the lounge was on the main floor. Meal was nicely done and our server was great.

Went here first time before a concert. The ambiance is unique in that it is the second floor above a bar. The food was fresh and tasty, and our waiter, Michael, was very attentive and prompt with service. Overall a great meal and time.

A restaurant, this size, with 2 levels - NOT a good idea!! Love the food, but won't be back to this location unless we sit at the bar downstairs. Our table of 8 people were tucked away in the farthest back corner of the dining area, on the second floor, on a night when we were the ONLY table in the dining area, and the lounge was quite slow. All of our drinks and meals had to be hiked up to the second floor by our waiter, who had only been on the job for a week. The fact that the poor guy had to walk the stairs SO MANY TIMES created long wait times for drinks and food. 1 meal was completely missed, and the other 7 of us were finished eating by the time it arrived, the french fries were cold and the ribs were room temperature - I think all because it takes TOO long to make the trip to the second floor. NOT an enjoyable dinner, and to finish it all off, the waiter could not get the bills sorted out for each of the 4 couples, and after 15 minutes of trying to figure that out, we just paid whatever was on the bills he created...and went on our way...we couldn't invest any more effort.

Usually I've been very satisfied with Chop, but this experience was less than satisfactory. We sat down and ordered drinks and appetizers right away as we had tickets to the Oilers game. After 40 minutes we asked where the appetizers were, and there was no response. We ended up getting our meal and appetizers all at the same time. This was a business meeting and I was apologizing all night as it was my recommendation to go there since it is good food. The server was more interested in telling us what he likes to eat and his life story, than listen and take our order as it didn't come out correctly at all. Food items were missed and 2 out of 4 steaks were quite over cooked. Like I said, I have always head Chop in a high regard, but this experience wasn't great.

We have been at Chop a few times before and it has always been good. This time we had a reservation for 6:45 p.m. and had to wait until 7:20 to be seated. Typically would not be a problem but for the fact we had Oilers' tickets and an 8:00 p.m. start time, which we were late for. The kitchen was overwhelmed and apparently unprepared and the food was okay as a result, but not great. Our waiter was very nice and tried his best to get us out the door as quickly as possible. Overall just an okay experience.
