Chop Chandler Ratings and Reviews
Our server was great! Her recommendations on food were spot on. Everything was very tasty. The BBQ ribs were fall off the bone awesome. Fried pickle chips were not too greasy or bitter. Meatballs are excellent. No wait when booked through open table. We will definitely go back.
My guest ordered steak medium , was served less than rare, sent it back to the kitchen and it came back rare, he did not eat his meal. I ordered my steak well, it was served medium. We will not return to this restaurant as it is unacceptable for our other two guests to eat alone while they attempt to cook our steaks as requested then I have to eat alone when receiving my steak after the rest of my party is done.
The food was excellent and beautifully displayed on the plates. We enjoyed the crab cakes, pork chop (which was HUGE!), salmon, and toffee bread pudding. Everything had excellent flavor. The wine list is extensive. The ambiance is nice--low-level mood lighting with a gorgeous bar as the backdrop. Pricing is what you'd expect for a good steak place. We had three courses (shared dessert), a glass of wine each and an extra cocktail for $120. Not bad at all! I recommend checking out Chop.
It was just alright. Tried to make it a nice experience and take our time, but the appetizer salad and entrees came out within a couple of minutes of each other. The app was taken off the bill, but that's not really the point. Server needs to learn to manage her tables better. Food was good.
First of all the food was fantastic, ordered the baseball sirloin rare medium rare. Fiancé craved a burger bleu. Great quality in the kitchen. The front end not so great. It was Sunday night, bartenders and servers are tired I get it. Service was sub par at best. We were the only twenty somethings there attempting to celebrate our engagement. (most were 50+ with obvious money) beside the food, we were pretty much overlooked. Water ran out early, fiancé's drink ran empty with no offer for another. The table behind us had personal attention from the manager about the wine list. Glad we had a Groupon as I don't believe we'll return. Three minutes away from our house and I'd rather take the trip to Mastro's in Scottsdale for the professionalism anyday.
Really wanted to like this place, but once again was disappointed. Have been here in the past, thought the food was better / fresher then. Sat close to the kitchen and saw a lot of can goods, hmmm? The cocktails seem to be hit or miss. Some night it's pretty good but mostly average. The restaurant doesn't offer any bread or roll with dinner, when asked , the server stated, " not sure, I can get you some white bread if you want"😫.
We had an early reservation so were seated in a corner circular booth over looking the front door arrivals. We were quickly greeted by Matt, who let us know he was going to have a darn good time that night and we should follow along. We did. Since our seating location obviously meant we had been appointed King & Queen, so we thoroughly enjoyed the people watching from our throne / booth since it went from almost empty to buzzing & full in the time we were there. Here's a statement: everyone seemed to be a regular or knew half the room. That always says a lot and we quickly learned why the repeat customers!
Matt provided thorough, fun, but unobtrusive service. Food was prepared just as requested. As with most steakhouses, their grilled salmon was done perfectly. The mixed drinks were original and very well done. Recommended!
My dish ( pork chop) was outstanding as usual. My companion had the trout and it was smothered with nuts and sauce, completely obscuring the delicate taste of the fish. We also ordered a bottle of wine, and after the initial taste, we were left to refill our own glasses. Way too many bar patrons for the available seating.
The place looks great. The servers were friendly and efficient.
The food was expensive and so so.
We had chicken satay on happy hour. It was so dry. We told the waitress and she said dip it in the sauce.
I had a salad with grilled shrimp. Three or four came on the plate I think for $12. Ouch.
Really wanted to like this place but I think it's overpriced and not so great in the food department
First time at Chop, my wife and I celebrated our anniversary with dinner. The atmosphere is fantastic and our service was perfect. The food was great, I ordered the NY Strip and my wife had a green chile burger with a gluten free bun. Both entrees were very tasty and cooked as we had ordered.
I definitely recommend Chop! We're planning to go back on a Sunday to try the burger and wine special!
Our server was pretty much absent. We had to fight to give our orders. First we waited forever for our drinks, and then they brought us the wrong drinks, for another table. Then it took us forever to put our food order in, then they brought us the completely wrong order, for another table again. The floor manager, or whoever he was, came and talked to us and helped us more than our server did. The server also charged full price for a side dish that was, according to the menu, supposed to be half off with entree. The floor manager corrected that for us since we couldn't get our waitress. We sat right next to the point of sale and the entrance to the kitchen, so it's not like we were hiding.
The food was good, nothing special. Glad we used a Groupon because the visit was not worth full price at all.
Rediculous dark, everyone had to use light on phone to see menu. Told us about sea bass special and after we ordered it came back later to tell us there was only one left, really? It's Saturday night 7pm and you are already out of the special. Than they came with what they thought was our food set a main dish down and than realized wrong table. Top it all off way over priced for mediocre steak. I don't mind paying $40 for filet but it better taste better than what I can cook on the grill. So disappointing trying to take friends from out of town out.
Hadn't been to Chop in about three years. Went with friends celebrating an anniversary. Food was good, better than I had remembered. We were there on a Thursday night. The restaurant got very crowded and there were only two servers. Matt was supposed to serve us the entire time but Liz did most of the service. She was very good and attentive. Then Matt came over and things went downhill from there. I don't know if he was just too busy or didn't care about giving us good service-let alone any service. My feeling is when we left there he couldn't have cared less about us. Left a 15% tip rather than 20% and that is only because I didn't want Liz not to get a tip. If it had just been Matt I wouldn't have left even that! Monica, the manager that night, was excellent in taking care of us.
Neighbood restaurant we have tried over a couple years. First few visits, food was excellent. Last two time ( within the last 6mo) not good. I only come for the chop, a week ago raw and cold in the center. I believe I given the chop my last chance. Sorry chop
