Chop Chandler Ratings and Reviews
Table was not ready on arrival. That in itself is understandable, but after taking a seat at a high top in the bar for a drink and to wait, we were asked to move to vacate the table for another table. With still no update on our table. Appetizer delicious (ahi tuna) but salmon main was over cooked in spite of ordering a pink center.
I’ve been to Chop at least six times. I always order the same thing - filet mignon, medium rare. It’s AMAZING! Tonight as a party of four we enjoyed outstanding service, a shared appetizer, drinks, delicious bread & a perfectly orchestrated dining experience. We felt neither rushed or left waiting for ANYTHING! Unfortunately my husband’s colossal-sized prime rib was just that. Colossal- sized. He didn’t want to say anything about the fact that he couldn’t cut through most of it. When asked if he wanted a “go box” he said no. That’s when he told us it was terrible. His fault for not speaking up. He was offered a replacement meal & declined. Chop made it right and removed the charge. I was impressed. We’re not typically difficult to please and I’ll be back. For a filet mignon, medium rare.
I have dine there several times and in the past I have been pleased. However very disappointed this time. Service was average at best. The piece of fish I got was half of what I would of expected and over cooked. The portion of Caesar Salic was small. We had to ask several times for water and bread. Overall disappointed in food and service.
A joint with an identity crises; sports bar or white table cloth steakhouse? And frankly it does neither particularly well. Staff was, on the surface pleasant enough but came across as not genuinely friendly and as such did not make my family and I feel welcome. We made a reservation but they had no table for us and offered us a table with hard bench seating near the front door . Food was decent. Will NEVER go back.
My boyfriend and I went to Chop for the first time to determine if it's a restaurant that we want to include in our list of favorites. Unfortunately, that didn't happen. My boyfriend ordered a specialty burger and requested medium rare. It was prepared medium well. The waitress didn't return to check on our meals and my boyfriend was hungry so he ate the meal. When the waitress did return to our table, I complained about his meal not being prepared as requested. She only responded that she would let the chef know. No apology, nothing.
We booked the table for our large group of 9 on pretty short notice, and CHoP was able to accommodate us on the patio. December in Phoenix is not that cold, so we brought sweaters and they provided us with heat lamps to keep warm!
The food all came out one order after the other, and was delicious. All of our steaks were cooked correctly, which can be tricky. The patio was much quieter than the bustling indoor bar/dining area, and though we were a little chilly we very much enjoyed the atmosphere on the patio, the food, and most of all the company.
Dinner for 4. Spaghetti Squash w/ meatballs was fantastic. Baseball steak and Filet mignon both medium rare both prepared blackened. Great taste, cooked perfectly. Salmon was great also. Great martinis too!! Had a bother great experience at Chop! The restaurant was slammed, server was a little slow and not as attentive as usual, but she did apologize for being slow.... food still came out on point and hot! Can’t stand warm food, so i was pleasantly surprised. Overall experience on a scale of 1-5 is 4 3/4😝
I had heard this was a nice place to get a good dinner with a nice atmosphere. I took my parents here for a nice holiday dinner so they did not have to drive from Gilbert to Scottsdale. Overall the atmosphere was excellent. The service was hit and miss. There was no silverware on the table and had to ask for it once our food arrived. The wine list is great by the glass or bottle. We spent over $200 just on wine. The dinner fell very short of our expectations. My wife had the lamb chops and it was very rare and hard to cut. I had the ribs as the waitress told us they were very good. There was hardly any meet on the ribs. My father has the filet and was okay as it was severed warm to the touch not hot. This is definitely not what we expected after spending over $400.
Our second visit, and this time took out-of-town guests. A classy restaurant with a diverse menu. Our only issue was two of us went with the idea of ordering Filet Mignon (it was great on the previous visit), but alas, it was a Sunday evening and they had no filets left to cook. That's the bad news. The good news is that I tried the barbecue ribs instead - and they were delicious.
Celebrated my wife's birthday. .....from the hostess recognizing her birthday to our bartender recognizing her birthday. ...recommending awesome drinks.....steaks cooked perfect....outstanding service from our waiter....English toffee bread pudding. ..w/ Frangelica......awesome night!!!!!!!!!
Outstanding, time and time again Chop refuses to amaze me with their outstanding service and food. I have been taking clients to Chop for almost 2 years now every 2-3 months and I thought it was time to leave a review. I am not sure there is a better place in Chandler for a meal, from start to finish it is impeccable. I have been here for business, but I have plans to go for a personal dinner with friends after my last experience.
Our server was great! Her recommendations on food were spot on. Everything was very tasty. The BBQ ribs were fall off the bone awesome. Fried pickle chips were not too greasy or bitter. Meatballs are excellent. No wait when booked through open table. We will definitely go back.
