Always a 'go to' for a great brunch!! Family and friends all love it!
We like their old selection for their happy hour. Still like the seafood option but the variety of food that was in their menu is gone
Great service and food.
Had a great time. Out hostess was great and cook- Jose was amazing. Kids want to go back and so do we.
Food and service was awesome. However the chicken was way over cooked. Could not eat it.
We reserved a table for at Chomp on OpenTable for my bday. We reserved for the Teppanyaki and arrived on time. Still waited nearly 30 minutes to be seated. After being seated we waited another 15 minutes before anyone came to take drink order. I ordered a cocktail which was awful. Tasted like cool-aid and rum. The chef finally arrived to cook our meal nearly an hour after we had arrived at the restaurant. They forgot half of my main course (scallops) and I had to ask the chef if they were going to serve it. He had already finished cooking the entire meal and had already cleaned the grill so he said he'd have to cook it in the kitchen and would have it brought out which happened 20 minutes after we finished our meal. The Teppanyaki meals also included dessert which they completely forgot to serve us. We had to ask for that as well when they wanted us to pay our bill and get moving along. The waitress apologized and said they were really busy for a Monday and someone had simply forgotten to bring our table dessert. The food we ate was good. The vibe of the restaurant was good. But they were obviously under-staffed for how busy they were and all of the staff seemed overwhelmed. We'll likely try it again sometime but will probably just go to the sushi bar and avoid doing the teppanyaki. Hoping our next time is a better experience as I know other people who rave about this place.
Hostesses weren’t the most friendly/helpful. Actually seemed like they didn’t really even want to be there. We were meeting people there and were told to let them know when everyone arrived. It took several minutes to even be recognized by the hostess once our party did arrive.
Server didn’t deliver drinks to the right people and was hardly visible during our meal. Never came by to check on drink refills or additions. Dirty bowls and empty glasses cluttered our table. Not being cleared until we were done with our meal. This really contributed to a very cluttered space.
Neither the hostess or the server turned on our grill, so this delayed our chefs ability to get started right away cooking. The chef was awesome and the food was great. Was a little concerned considering how the evening started.
The service was good and the experience was great. The pricing on the food for the grill was on the high side.
Always an enjoyable Brunch experience at Chomp! This last visit, there was an overly loud group watching football in the bar that had no noise control - not the restaurant's fault.
Every time I go to Chomp I have a wonderful time. The servers are always so nice and check often enough to make sure we have everything we need. This visit we went on Sunday for the brunch and the food was fantastic! There is something for everyone from sushi to eggs and prime rib. My only complaint is the chairs are a bit uncomfortable but hey, not uncomfortable enough to stop me from coming back! I would definitely recommend this restaurant!
We love your food. The only thing we can’t stand is those stupid tables with the roof top thing over then between sushi bar and Teppan tables. They feel like you’re sitting at kids lunch tables in elementary school. When I ask to not be seated at those, the hostess always give a bit of a stink eye . I also asked if I could sit at a big table by window and she said there was none for party of 4. She doesn’t know her tables very well because there is one and I would have waited a few more minutes for the one table!! I made. A reservation for a reason!
Every time we go to Chomp we use OpenTable knowing that they are always busy; however, we still have to wait a minimum of 15 minutes to be seated. People who walked up and signed in were seated before us. This doesn’t happen at any other restaurants when using OT. The hostess seem to be constantly involved I their own conversations. There are so many other great places in Fullerton to eat, & I’m willing to drive a little further out if I want better sushi & teppanyaki.
I reserved a table with OpenTable. Instead of calling me telling me that they were unable to accommodate us, they only told us when we got to the restaurant. I may not be able to comment on the food (this time around) but I can tell you that the service is horrible.
We went in for the grill and it was the best food we had ever tried. Jose really hooked us up, we had the best time and food.
Food was just ok. Salad was made at the table and was a mess. Cook was very sloppy with his preparation. Soup was tasteless. Last but not least we split a meal and they charged 10.00 for the extra plate. Not very good food and the prices were way too high. We won’t be back.
Only thing we were disappointed with was that we asked for a certain chef and they said we would have him when we sat down and we did not end up having him we ended up with someone else. When I let the host know she said that she told them. The chef we wanted cane and said hi and asked why he wasn’t out chef he said no one told him that he was requested. So miscommunication on the host part. That’s the only reason for the 3 stars.
We have been to Chomp several times and are never disappointed. The food is excellent and fresh. The service is also great. This time we went with family for my husband’s birthday and we had a great time. Our chef was amazing and very entertaining. We all got the surf n turf which is filet mignon with either shrimp, scallops or chicken. Each of our meals was cooked exactly the way we wanted. The meals also come with appetizers, soup and salad so there is plenty of food. And since it was my husband’s birthday the chef gave us complimentary saki bombs. A great time was had by all,
Delicious food! Great service! Decent prices!
All in all ok.
Bad service don’t go please the chefs are not very entertaine
I was there 2days ago and my service was really bad
We enjoyed a Sunday Brunch and celebrated a birthday. We were not hurried at all and the service was attentive for our large group. Asian selections including sushi, seafood, salads, hot entrees and desserts were very good. The family especially enjoyed the ribs. The poached eggs on the Egg Benedict were not close to being cooked enough. Roast beef was tough. Chomp is a fun place and very unique. We will be back. Especially like that I can book a large group through Open Table. Lots of restaurants do not and lose good business.
Great service, good food and decent price. The only issue I would have is the wait with reservation for general seating when there were a lot of open seats.
We love to eat here. The food is great, however the prices have gone up so much.
My first time was amazing!! I'm going again soon! Thank you!
It was great all around
Teppan Grill was fun for a birthday celebration. Prices for lunch were a good deal as opposed to dinner.
Do not eat here. The chef was using the same utensil to cook the chicken, shrimp and steak with. And was even scooping the food onto people’s plates with it. Cross contamination!! I got so sick
We came two weeks ago before Saturday 7/27 visit & had terrible service, we waited 10 min before we were served water. Then walked out, no one ever came back to check or take our order.
I called the manager who didnt offer any discount, a free drink, nothing.
Saturday 7/27 we came back and slow service , had to flag down two different waiters to find out who are actual waiter was. The first waiter told us we could order from tepan table while at booth, then our actual waiter told us no & after that waited awhile for food and check , not impressed.
They raise there prices. And they keep changing the menu. I used to go a lot now I probably won’t go back for awhile. They also added cinnamon on the vegetables which was weird to me.
Dinner and staff was great but the party at the grill dining were too loud and really ruined the experience
The food was just okay. And the tepan show was minimal. I have been to chomp many times. The service is usually just okay, but the food is usually good. What a bummer. Won’t be back.
Crowded at Teppan table because they store sauce dishes and soup bowls on table. Dumb idea. I sat on very corner of my table because my side was crowded at the end due to giant stack of soup bowls and sauce dishes. After the people on other side left I got up and moved dishes over to give my friend who’s elbow kept bumping dishes a little more room. There were six of us we drank and ate spending at least 200 dollars a couple. Thats 1200 dollars and we had to sit next to empty dishes, not cool. The chefs could bring those dishes out on their cart. The stacking of the dishes on the table is just lazy and unprofessional.
Our Waitress was great. Food took a while to come out to us but it was also very busy so that’s understandable.
I was very upset at the fact that I was offered a coupon for my birthday, and we were celebrating my daughters birthday, and I couldn’t use either one of our coupons. First of all the coupon has to be printed which I explained my printer does not work right now, couldn’t use my daughters coupon for the same reason or because she needed a valid ID to show it was her birthday that day. She is 8!!! She doesn’t have a valid ID! I asked a few people at the restaurant and nobody would make an exception.
Almost every place I go to will accept the coupon from your phone or the place will give a coupon code. Some people may not have the issue with their printer like myself, but let’s say they left their printed coupon at home. Which would mean no exception would be made.
I come here often and we usually spend a good amount of money when we come. Not allowing us to use a $20 coupon cause it was not printed is pretty ridiculous and you guys should maybe make some changes to that.
Also the menu has changed and we were left with fewer options. I was disappointed in that as well. I do not eat red meat or pork and was unhappy with the fact that if I wanted chicken I had no option on the menu to have just chicken unless I was a child. Chicken was only offered as part of a meal with another meat or seafood or I had to order seafood. If I only ate chicken and didn’t eat seafood or red meat I would have been left with no other meal option.
I used to love coming here, always celebrated birthdays, Valentine’s Day, Easter, Mother’s Day and Father’s Day here and over the course of a few years i can honestly say I’ve been unsatisfied with the changes and was very unhappy with the lack of anyone wanting to allow my coupon the other day.
Love this place. I wish they made more rolls with spicy tuna instead of fake crab. Plus they took our favorite roll off the menu (Deja Vu) but lucky for us the chefs take pity on us and make it for us every time we're there. Thank you.
I had an amazing time with my family for my birthday dinner. Our chef Abraham was AMAZING I highly recommend him. When I go back I’ll make sure to request him. Thank you for a wonderful experience.
Was shown into a room where regular tables were in the past but now tepan tables are there. We have had tepan before at Chomp and it was terrific but this time they have a new menu with a "ten" course meal. One course was a slice of pineapple and another was a serving of potatoes. I've been to plenty of tepan restaurants and I have never had potatoes! The chicken was dark meat chick and the New York steak had a lot of day on it that should have been trimmed off prior to cooking. One person in the group had noodles and said they were rubbery. Not sure I will return to Chomp for a tepan meal.
Absolutely loved it, food was great. Our waiter was also very attentive. I did the al you can eat and def worth the price.
We love happy hour at Chomp.
