The scallops were delicious. Server seemed inexperienced.
The Grill is a local gem where the quality of food and the service is consistent. Each of my family member has a favorite ranging from a burger to lobster risotto. The place will be closed for renovation next month but when it re-opens with a nice outdoor seating area, we will be taking a stroll down to the Grill for a bite!
We were going to the Theater. We patronize Chocolate Avenue Grill frequently. Our best friends joined us for the very first time. As always the food did not disappoint. The service however was less than expected or desired. Our drinks were slow to come out. The wrong drinks were made. Our salads were served & not one minute later our main course was served. So we were squashed at a small table for 4 with a table full of plates. There was barely enough room to eat. Our empty drink glasses were not removed from the table. My experience on this Friday evening was nothing I ever received or expected from Chocolate Avenue Grille. And then our check was Incorrect. We figured it out as friends so as not to be late for the theater. I will revisit after renovations are complete. I hope the service will be able to handle the increase of people. Bigger is not always better.
Under renovation and getting ready to close for about 5 weeks?. My delmonico and fried Brussels was outstanding. My wife’s lobster risotto was sent back. Taste off and gritty not creamy.
Waitress was amazing. She had manager comp my wife’s meal and was very attentive offering alternatives but we had a concert to get to so not enough time.
Cramped eating but renovations will obviously help that
Good food. Great service.
Really enjoyed ourselves
Restaurant is OPEN, although it was difficult to tell due to the renovation/construction occurring. Signs are on fence, but were completely overshadowed by the level of construction. Food was very good, plenty of options. Server was super helpful and friendly. When they finish with the renovation it looks like it will be a tremendous place to hang out.
Our friends’ group celebrated the day with great food, great service and shared a dessert to die for. Our waiter was friendly and attentive. This experience made our day.
Our waiter was so AWESOME even though we were not blown away by the food. We were there for lunch. My girlfriend had the Crab Cake (it was small and tasted "okay") but the sweet potato fries were excellent. I had a yummy tomato bisque soup (the chef could have cleaned up the excess soup off the serving plate) and Asian Ahi Tuna Wrap. They are building an new addition at the front of the building so it looked like a construction site from Chocolate Ave that we weren't sure if it was open. The location is fantastic.
Major construction renovations in progress took away from the experience. Food was great.
The staff and food were good. The ambiance was not as calm and serene as I was hoping for. The tables are too close together and you couldn't have a private conversation.
Salads are amazing. Service is record fast! We always love dining here. Thank you!!!
Your food and service is excellent, however your drink prices will probably have most of us having water next time. Knowing what it costs to make, makes me feel ripped off with excessive cost. Love your Jess’s salad and risotto!
Interesting but delicious menu items.
A great restaurant with a good variety of choices.
It may be nicer once the restoration is complete. The food was good, but there was just no "wow factor" that made me say I have to come back here.
Food was amazing. We made reservations for an early dinner before a Hershey Bears game, and was seated quickly. Our server was great and attentive. We ordered one of the seafood specials, steak, and 2 pasta dishes. All were excellent.
The food was delicious and very very fresh. Our server Brenna was wonderful and very attentive. Next time I come to the area. I will definitely come back.
Under renovation but food was great regardless. The new plans look fantastic.
We go here every winter while we are in Hershey. Absolutely love this place! Great food, service and kid friendly!!
We all ended up being sick after eating the food. Meat/salmon seemed to be the culprit.
Booked this before our trip and when we arrived the restaurant was under construction outside. Initial thought was that the restaurant was closed. Food was good had a chocolate milkshake martini which was excellent. Would wait until restaurant is totally renovated before going.
The food and service were excellent as always. Highly recommend.
Great restaurant. Food was tasty, great menu options. The service was great!
Love the variety of the menu. The quick service was amazing on Saturday.
Their chicken salad is tasty and their Italian Wedding Soup was very good.
Using Open Table makes it very convenient.
Looking forward to our next visit
This was our second time eating here and had another delicious meal. We were glad we made reservations. Everything was great... service, food and atmosphere.
Wonderful spot in downtown Hershey! Food was amazing - the scallops, hamburgers - all was just perfect. We ended up late for our reservation and were still seated right away (albeit by the window vs our preferred booth - but we were thrilled to still be seated during this crazy pre-Christmas weekend).
Will definitely return next time we hit Hershey Park!
The pasta was excellent and the homemade meatballs melted in your mouth.
Food was very good but it seemed rushed. Our appetizer came out with the salads and the meal came out a few minutes later. Our first time here so am not sure if that is normal.
Outside looked pretty bad as they were renovating. Parking is very tight. Inside is small and on the dingy side. Waitress wasn’t very friendly. We all thought the food was good. My martini was awful though. Not a horrible experience, but I don't think we would return.
Food and service was very good, could an upgrade to the dining area. Construction work located in the front area of the restaurant.
My meal (pasta with scallops) was very good; a little heavy on the olive oil but nonetheless good. My wife ordered a Delmonico steak to be done medium, and it came out basically rare. Portions were very generous though and we took half of both meals home for supper later in week. We’ve been coming here for a while now and it is a solid restaurant with a very not noisy atmosphere (one of the reasons we come here).
After reading overall positive reviews of this establishment and wanting to experience something different than our usual Hershey go-tos, I decided to make a reservation to celebrate my brother-in-law's birthday. There were a total of four of us and upon entering the Chocolate Avenue Grill, I was somewhat disappointed by the diner-type atmosphere. I just had not expected this based on the reviews I read and looking at the menu. In hindsight, however, the variety of the menu should have tipped me off that this was more of a casual restaurant. Our group decided to give it a chance and we were so glad we did! We all started with a round of Yuengling Hershey Chocolate Porters, which were delicious! Two of us ordered the Tuscan Tuna, one ordered Mrs. D's Lasagna, and another ordered Land and Lobster. We were all very satisfied with our meals. The one slice of key lime pie that we all had bites of was a great top-off. Jake, our server, was attentive and patient with us, and made excellent recommendations. Consider this family-friendly location in downtown Hershey!
Don’t remember the exact name but the burger with sautéed onions and bacon, I substituted Gouda for Swiss, was the best burger I’ve ever had!! Cooked perfectly!
Overall good. Food was very good. Rather noisy though. Service was good but not exceptional.
My husband and I enjoyed the osso bucco very much. It was delicious, the service was great. We will definitely be returning.
Thought a burger for $14 was very expensive. It was good but not that good. Service ya always been great.
Birthday dinner for just two of us. Wonderful food and very quiet.
The food is Excellent. I always eat here when in Hershey. They have a great menu and the portions are large.
Great food! We had dinner with our daughter (2) and both sets of grandparents. Perfect environment for all!
Nice place, but small. It looks like theyll be enlarging the property- building it up, since theres no other place to build out. I'd recommend making a reservation.
While the food is prepared to order, I think it's a bit overpriced. They are known for their scallops, but none of our party tried them. The service was good.
