Chloës Seafood & Steaks Ratings and Reviews
Chloe’s has always been one our favorite restaurants at the beach but this time our food was still great but our service was horrible! There where 5 tables having dinner, on a prime rib special night, our appetizers took at least a half hour to come out, dinner about 45 minuets later, I guess that way you don’t order another for $29.95. Our waitress was very inexperienced but nice, she could only accomplish one task at at a time!
My wife and I still managed to have a good time!
Service was warm and friendly, food presentation and taste very nice. Bread sensational with a sweet coconut flavoring. Salads extra in cost and fairly small. they automatically put gratuity on bill which for a party of 2, I feel is totally unnessary. The name of resteaurant not featured on hotel sign, I had an entertainment coupon is the only way I found this place!
Everyone on staff was very friendly and accommodating, but the menu was very over-priced and the food was not great...it reminded me of warmed over country club meals. The view if the beach is nice, as long as you don't look down into the dumpster below the restaurant....very disappointing, especially for the price!
The hotel staff was very friendly and accommodating as was the restaurant staff. Service, however, friendly, was very very slow. We certainly were not in a hurry and like to dine slowly but when you requested something, it took a very very long time to receive it.We ordered wine with our dinner and by the time it came, we had eaten our meals. I and another guest had the prime rib which was very good, the other two in our party had the snapper, which for a restaurant on the beach, was terribly disappointing. It was very fishy and obviously a frozen (or old), pre-breaded piece of fish. With their dinner choices, you are offered either potato (whatever one kind of potato they offer for the evening, not a choice of potato) or rice. You are also served a vegetable with the dinner and a choice of soup or salad (garden or caesar). Portions were fine and pricing was expected for Fort Myers Beach. The dining room could use a little TLC to warm it up and make it more inviting but it was clean and the view was pretty. Sorry, but I would not go back to this restaurant again. We ate there simply because we were staying in the hotel and it was convenient. We are local and live in Fort Myers and I think that is why this was so disappointing. We love coming to Fort Myers Beach for the restaurants, even the small ratty restaurants serve excellent food, not sure why this restaurant can't. Suggestions would be offer a variety of potato choices, serve fresh fish or none at all, and have more staff so service does not suffer. We will recommend the hotel as our room was lovely and clean, but not the restaurant.
For the money that we spent for three people, I at least expect to have fresh food. All the food was frozen or pre made and from cans. When you are spent 150.00 for three people, I would like to have fresh food. I would not go back or even recommend this place to anyone. We are also suppose to have our Christmas party there and I'll make sure to let my company know about what they serve.
We were hoping to sit out on the terrace, but it was closed due to the wind. We did get a nice window seat, which we appreciated. It is too bad that there aren't larger windows to take advantage of the great view. When the road construction traffic improves we would like to go back. I think that the businesses and residents need to push the authorities to push for traffic police to speed up the traffic that is trying to get off the island and over the bridge. It took us 26 minutes to drive the last one mile to get to the restaurant, because the southbound traffic was backed up so far. The food and service were very good.
This restaurant was in a resort and there was no sign. I found it hard to find from the street and there was a lot of road construction and the traffic was horrible to get into the area.
The restaurant took reservations and when we wanted to see if we could get in we were told to wait until our reserved time. There were many empty tables available.
Our food was from the nightly menu for Valentine's Day and the food was good, but a little pricy.
We went for New Year's Eve. I had a promotional coupon. Although the waiter didn't think is was valid, the front desk assured us it was. Everything was delicious, we never felt rushed, the dining room was quite spacious. Never felt like we were sitting with the people near us. It was a memorable time from start to finish. We also made sure to tip the waiter on the exact amount not the discounted one. Would love to visit again for the next special occasion.
We went here Christmas week with our daughter and her friend. We had read the good reviews and we were looking for a place with outside dining. We were all pleased with our meals; everyone had a fish entrée. Peter and Heathers gave us excellent service. This is a good choice if you're visiting the Fort Myers area.
One of the worst dining experiences I can recall.....! Service was very slow and lousy......they couldn't even uncork the long-overdue wine correctly.....we finished removing the cork when the disappeared to find another bottle. In grouper country and the grouper special was awful.....I doubt it WAS grouper! OpenTable should remove this place from their search list!!!!
Fish was dry and overcooked, potatoes given a fancy name and turned out to be nothing more than home fries with onions which seemed a strange accompaniment to fish at dinner. Beautiful view but food was a big disappointment. Too many other restaurants to pick from in the area to settle for a mediocre meal!
I thought Cloes was and upscale restaurant.... Much to my surprise it was not... The general decor was old cheap hotel... There was no discernible view. We ordered three meals and one appetizer to share.. The appetizer was supposed to be clams, but there was virtually no taste. They were on the menu as New England clams, but no bellies in site. Perhaps they were left over from Howard Johnson days, but clearly were a lower quality. as they had no flavor.
The other dishes were OK, but nothing to write home about. With so many good restaurants to eat at on Fort Myers Beach, I would not waste my money going here again, or the first time if I knew how it was...
Service was prompt and attentive. Coating on calamari appetizer lightest and most flavorful I have ever had. Delicious Hawaiian bread served with wonderful, slightly peppery Sanibel sweet chili sauce. The Paradise chicken entree is worthy of another visit. It was served with a twice baked potato with a slight hint of garlic. The grouper had a delightfully tasty shrimp sauce to compliment it and was also served with a twice baked potato. We would not hesitate to revisit.
What a disappointment Chloes was. We had a group reservation for 12 people to celebrate a birthday and every person in the party was disappointed with their food. The onion soup was extremely salty, to the point that most people didn't finish it. Not only was it salty, but inconsistent. Not one soup on the table looked the same. I personally had the New York New York, and it was awful. I spent almost $30 on a tasteless, tough, and dried out piece of meat. My other friend actually sent her meal back because the scallops weren't cooked.
In conclusion, we will never be going back to Chloe's.
